This is finally the last installment of the main story.
Hanako handed Kent a new terminal, allowing him to once again order items from the home center, where he worked in his previous world. After bathing, he immediately used this ability to replenish supplies that were lacking in his home, and then held a small home party to celebrate. The next morning, he began the restoration work for Marie’s Bakery.
“First, we need to restore the electricity,” Kent said.
Kent operated the terminal and began repairing the broken solar power generation device. Fortunately, the solar panel itself was undamaged and could still be used. Therefore, they decided to replace the power conditioner, a device that converts the generated electricity into a form usable within the store. This device had malfunctioned during the battle at the Duchy’s Army and the Sanctuary, which was the cause of the electricity outage in the building. When he designated the equipment removal on the terminal, the faulty power conditioner unit instantly vanished. He then purchased a new power conditioner and opted for installation, and a brand-new unit appeared in its original place.
“Marie, try turning on the lights in the workshop,” Kent called out.
Kent was working outdoors, so he spoke to Marie, who was waiting in the bakery’s workshop. She then flipped the switch to control the workshop’s lights.
“It’s gotten brighter!” Marie exclaimed. “It’s easier to see than relying on natural light,” Kent added.
In addition to Kent and Marie, Josette and Caro had also come to check on the progress of the restoration work out of concern. Apparently, Rachel had wanted to come too, but she was overwhelmed with clothing orders from Marie’s Bakery No. 2 and was currently working on sewing with tears streaming down her face. As the workshop was illuminated by electricity, the two women cheered.
“Marie, how are the workshop’s machines?” Kent asked.
“The electric oven is working properly,” Marie replied.
Once Kent confirmed that electricity was restored, he moved towards the workshop where Marie and the others were. Perhaps concerned about its condition, Marie had already begun inspecting the oven for baking before Kent returned. When Kent asked about its status, she happily reported that it was operating normally.
“The refrigerator is also starting to cool down inside,” Josette said. “The dough mixer is working fine too,” Marie added.
Caro and Josette also took turns inspecting the equipment, and each confirmed that the machines they were responsible for were functioning correctly.
“It seems all the equipment in the workshop is fine,” Kent said.
“I’m glad they weren’t broken,” Caro replied.
“That’s a relief,” Josette added.
“Next is the kitchen,” Marie said.
Kent performed a final check, confirming that all equipment in the workshop was operating normally. Marie, Josette, and Caro expressed relief upon hearing Kent’s words. They then decided to move to the next inspection area.
“Since the workshop was a separate building from the main store, it didn’t suffer much damage, but I wonder about the kitchen,” Kent mused.
Kent and the others moved from the workshop to the kitchen. The kitchen was located in the heavily damaged store area, and had been left without power, making it impossible to check its functionality. Some equipment was damaged from the explosion, and unlike the inspection in the workshop, there was a possibility that it wouldn’t work.
“Master, I hope it works properly,” Emily whispered by Kent’s ear, floating with her small body.
Since the workshop was in a different building, Emily’s movement range was restricted and she couldn’t be present. However, the kitchen was part of the store, so she was able to accompany them. She had been following Kent and the others since they moved to the store area. As a shop-attached fairy, she seemed very concerned about whether the equipment would be usable.
“Well then, let’s check them one by one,” Kent said.
Kent decided to start with the water supply.
“Water… it seems to be coming out,” he noted.
The water used in the kitchen was pumped from a well to the faucets, so it wouldn’t run if there was no electricity. The pump was located outdoors, above the well, and had not been affected by the explosion. Kent had started the inspection here, assuming it would likely work.
“How about the stove?”
Next, he tried turning on the IH cooking heater next to it.
“Hmm, it’s not turning on. It seems to be broken from the impact,” Kent said.
“Kent, it’s not going as smoothly as it did in the workshop,” Caro commented.
“That’s true. But if it’s broken, we can just replace it,” Kent replied.
Kent operated the terminal, removed the broken IH cooking heater, and replaced it with a new one.
“Alright, let’s move on,” he said.
In this manner, they inspected the equipment in the kitchen, replacing everything that was broken with new items.
“Ah, Master!” Emily exclaimed.
“Oh, you seem to have regained some strength,” Kent said.
As they confirmed that all equipment in the kitchen was functioning properly, Emily’s body grew larger, reaching the size of Al or Hanako.
“That’s wonderful!” Marie said.
“Owner, it’s a bit tight,” Emily squeaked.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Marie replied.
Seeing Emily’s grown form, Marie, overcome with joy, hugged her tightly. Emily tried to endure it, but her expression showed discomfort due to Marie’s excessive strength.
“Next is the dining space,” Marie said.
“No, the restroom first,” Josette countered.
“Hmm, either one is fine…” Caro murmured.
With the inspection of the workshop and kitchen, crucial areas for Marie’s Bakery’s operation, completed, they were to begin inspecting the customer areas. However, there were few places to inspect, so it didn’t matter where they started. This led to a disagreement between Josette and Caro. For Kent, both were areas that needed to be checked, and he didn’t mind which one they started with. However, since they both specified different locations, it escalated into an important choice, much like a game’s emotional parameter event.
(This is the classic event in games where choosing one option raises the affection of the chosen one and lowers the affection of the unchosen one.)
Kent’s mind flashed back to this common scenario in dating sims, where one is forced to make a painful choice. He became indecisive about which to choose.
“Josette, Caro, if you both suggest different places, Kent will get troubled. How about we check the area around the register first?” Marie proposed.
“The owner has raised the bar,” Emily muttered.
Marie’s suggestion of a new location increased the choices from two to three, raising the difficulty. Emily, watching their exchange, was unsure how to position herself.
“Kent, which one will you start with? Of course, it will be the dining space, won’t it?” Josette asked.
“Kent, what will you do? Starting with the restroom is fine, right?” Caro pressed.
“Please, both of you, don’t argue. Let’s go with the register,” Marie intervened.
Josette, Caro, and Marie cornered Kent, urging him to make a decision.
“For the time being, let’s start with interior repairs,” Kent said.
“Kent!” the three women exclaimed in unison.
Kent couldn’t choose between the three of them and decided to start with touch-ups to the interior. Hearing this, all three protested that he hadn’t chosen anyone. Thus, using the terminal, Marie’s Bakery gradually regained its former appearance.
After all the repair work was completed, Marie’s Bakery, having returned to its style of ordering and selling items using Kent’s terminal, welcomed its renewal opening day. Flowers celebrating the opening adorned the front of the store, including those from the Royal family, the Duke’s family, and Baron Frederick, listing the names of the related aristocrats. The interior was as neatly arranged as before, appearing completely restored, making it hard to believe there had been an explosion.
“The store really must be like this,” Emily said.
“You’re right, Emily,” Kent agreed.
With the store restored, Emily, the shop-attached fairy, regained her former power and took on a form resembling Marie’s physique. She could also leave the store and was outside with Kent, looking at the flowers arranged to celebrate the opening. Her regained power also restored smartphone communication functions, allowing calls between those with smartphones as before.
“I’m still going to be gazing at the store, so you can go inside first, Master,” Emily said.
“Understood. I’ll do that,” Kent replied.
Emily, happily admiring the restored store, seemed inclined to take her time. She urged Kent to go inside first.
“Hey, Kent!” called out a familiar voice.
“Ah, Otsupain. I thought you were working right now, is it okay to leave?” Kent asked.
“Ah, it’s fine for a little while. It’s finally back to normal. I wanted to offer a word of congratulation,” Otsupain replied.
“Thank you for sending flowers to celebrate the opening,” Kent added, noting Otsupain’s name among them.
Otsupain’s name was indeed among the congratulatory flowers. Hearing that aristocrats involved with Marie’s Bakery had sent them, Otsupain, being a Knight, decided to have her name listed as well.
“Ah, this store has helped me a lot, and since Kent is involved, it’s only natural for a lover to do so,” Otsupain said.
“Thank you,” Kent replied.
“Well, well, that’s how it is. I have work to do, so I’ll be going now. Ugh!” Otsupain stammered, her attempt at a cool exit ruined by a misspoken word. She turned red with embarrassment and headed back towards the Sanctuary.
“Well, time to go inside,” Kent thought.
After seeing Otsupain off, Kent entered the store to continue preparations for the opening.
“Master, the apple yeast is ready,” Al announced.
“Thank you, Al,” Kent replied.
Kent moved to the workshop, where Al had just finished preparing the apple yeast made from apples. Although Kent could now order fresh yeast using the terminal, and apple yeast had been used as a substitute for plump bread, they had returned to using fresh dry yeast for their main products. However, due to positive customer feedback for the unique taste and aroma of apples, they decided to continue selling it, albeit in smaller quantities. Since Al was exclusively in charge of making the apple yeast, she naturally had to work in the workshop until it was ready.
“Ah, Kent, the bread will be ready soon. Could you carry it to the store area?” Marie asked.
“Sure, let’s see, number four, right?” Kent replied.
“Yes, please,” Marie confirmed.
Marie, who was shaping dough made with fresh yeast and arranging it on trays, asked Kent to carry the bread that was about to be baked. Kent checked the timer on the electric oven and confirmed that the area marked with number four would be ready soon.
“I’ve brought the additional flour,” Elnet announced, entering with bags of flour.
“Elnet, thank you,” Kent replied.
“Oh? Kent, you’re here too,” Elnet said.
“Ah, the bread is almost ready, so I was going to carry it to the store area. Thanks for carrying the heavy things too, Elnet,” Kent replied.
“Well, I think this suits me better than teaching at the school. Now, I should probably go get the next bag,” Elnet said.
Without a military subject at the school, Elnet had been unemployed for a while. However, with the revival of Marie’s Bakery, she had returned to the store. The bags of flour were quite heavy, but seeing her carry them effortlessly without any apparent concern, Kent felt very reassured. After setting down the bags, she quickly left the workshop to retrieve the next ones.
“Alright, it’s ready!”
As Elnet left, the alarm on the electric oven sounded, signaling that the bread was baked. Kent put on gloves, carefully opened the lid to avoid burns, and pulled out the tray of bread.
“I’ve brought the finished bread,” Kent announced, appearing at the store area with the tray of baked goods.
“Thank you, Kent. Fuuko, please help arrange them,” Catherine, who was checking the register, called out to Fuuko.
“Hmph, I guess I have no choice. I’ll help you, Master!” Fuuko replied.
“Thank you for your help,” Kent said to Fuuko.
“I don’t mind working for Master! So I just need to arrange these, right?” Fuuko said with a slightly reluctant tone, but seemed pleased to be able to help Kent with his work.
“Here, I’ll help a little,” Fuuko said, then pulled on Hanako’s ear, which was being tugged at. “What is it? Don’t pull my ear! Master!” Fuuko cried out, her voice trailing off as she disappeared with Hanako.
“Despite their complaints, they seem to get along well,” Kent mused.
Initially, due to their positions as gods from neighboring countries, they had been at odds with each other. However, with Kent acting as their contractor, their hostile relationship had improved, and they had recovered to the point where they could act together. Observing their interaction, Kent felt that conflicts between the Kingdom and the Duchy would not occur for some time.
“Well, the display shelves are full, and we just need to replenish as sales go,” Kent said.
All the display shelves for the bread were now filled, and Kent determined that no further attention was needed until opening.
“Kent, how is the preparation going?” Caro asked, her eyes meeting Kent’s as she wiped down a table in the dining area.
“Ah, Caro. It’s going smoothly,” Kent replied.
“That’s good. I’m happy we can prepare things as we used to,” Caro said with a smile.
“Yes, it really feels like before,” Kent agreed.
“Yes!” Caro beamed.
Kent happened to look up and met Caro’s gaze. Noticing his attention, she smiled and spoke to him. She was clearly delighted that everything was back to normal.
“Let me help,” Kent offered.
“Thank you. We’ll have to work hard to make up for Patty’s absence,” Caro replied.
Kent was free at the moment, so he decided to help Caro. Before the store was damaged, Patty was primarily in charge of this area. However, since Gordon had abdicated and the former King had retired, the throne of Queen had become vacant. As sentiment grew for the urgent need to find a new Queen, the marriage ceremony was moved up earlier than originally planned. This necessitated an accelerated schedule for her bridal education, making it impossible for Patty to continue working at Marie’s Bakery. Patty herself had wanted to return to her job, but due to national affairs, she had no choice but to give up on returning.
“Oh, Kent, you’re helping Caro,” Josette said, appearing from the kitchen where she had been helping with preparations.
“Ah, Josette, how are things in the kitchen?” Kent asked.
“Yes, our inventory is complete, so we can respond to whatever orders customers may have,” Josette replied.
Josette, who had been doing cleaning and managing ingredients in the kitchen with Rachel, emerged.
“Hey, Josette, don’t leave your post while you’re counting inventory,” Rachel chided, following Josette out.
“Oh, was I?” Josette asked.
“Seriously, don’t leave your post just because you sensed Big Brother,” Rachel continued.
It seemed Josette had left her work area after sensing Kent’s presence.
“That’s right. Shall we go back then, Rachel?” Josette said, satisfied with just seeing Kent.
“Wait, don’t just rush back!” Rachel protested.
Seeing Kent was enough for her, Josette returned to the kitchen, with Rachel following close behind.
“Kent, they both seem a bit lonely. It’s fine here now, so could you help out in the kitchen?” Caro suggested, as the dining space was almost ready.
“Really? Okay, I’ll head over,” Kent replied.
“Have a good day,” Caro said.
With the dining area’s preparations almost complete, Caro asked Kent to go help in the kitchen. Kent entrusted the area to Caro and moved to the kitchen.
“Everyone, the store will be opening soon,” Marie announced.
After the preparation work was finished, it was time for Marie’s Bakery to open. This was a complete reopening, so all employees gathered in front of the store entrance. Marie announced that the store was ready to open and opened the main entrance. Kent and the others followed her out.
“Thank you for waiting. Marie’s Bakery is now open for business. We ask for your continued patronage,” Marie said.
The employees lined up in front of the store, and Marie announced the opening to the waiting customers, after which they all bowed deeply. The customers, who had been waiting for the opening, erupted into applause. Thus, Marie’s Bakery was fully revived and reopened.

This work began serialization on Shosetsuka ni Narou in September 2017. Due to various circumstances, it moved to Nocturne Novelize in July 2020 and continued serialization. Before he knew it, nearly eight years had passed since he started writing. There were times during this period when he felt like stopping serialization, but with the support of many people, he was able to reach the final chapter. He feels this is all thanks to everyone who has read it.
Furthermore, he was approached by a publisher, and a comic adaptation was created. Having never experienced anything like it before, it was a very precious experience, and this work has become deeply meaningful to him.
Although the main story has reached its conclusion, there will be a few more bonus chapters. He would appreciate it if you would continue to accompany him for a little longer. It has turned into a very long work, but he is truly grateful for you reading it to the end. He expresses his heartfelt gratitude and thanks. (Written on September 1, 2025)
