“So, what can Mike do?” Rachel asked Mike.
“Right now… I can talk, meow?”
“Huh?”
Rachel was surprised that for the price of putting his body on the line, Mike could do so little.
“Can you turn into a human?”
“I can’t, meow.”
“Can you exert the same abilities as Master?”
“Because I’m a cat, I can’t, meow.”
“Can you use magic?”
“Shop-attached fairies can’t do anything that advanced, meow.”
“Do you have high combat abilities?”
“I can scratch with my claws, meow.”
Rachel asked Emily many questions, but Mike answered that he couldn’t do any of them.
“This shop-attached fairy is useless!” Rachel complained to Al.
“I believe I mentioned at the beginning that I didn’t have great power?”
“You did say that, but after seeing Emily’s abilities, I had some hope.”
“That blonde, idiotic, big-breasted woman is abnormal. Normally, shop-attached fairies don’t have such great power. However, by making the shop prosperous, shop-attached fairies absorb magic power and their abilities increase to a certain extent, so you just have to work hard to make the shop bigger.”
“I’m not satisfied.”
Rachel looked very displeased. Beside her, Kent spoke to Mike.
“She’s my sister, but please protect her well.”
“Yes. My range of action is limited to this store, but I will protect her even at the cost of my life, meow.”
“Please do.”
Kent and Mike made a man’s promise.
“Well then, Older brother, shall we go home soon?”
“Understood. Then let’s go home.”
“Well then Mike, please take care of the shop while we’re gone.”
“Understood, meow.”
Rachel, having finished her errands, told Kent. Kent handed Rachel the key to the shop.
“Here, this is the shop’s key, so don’t lose it.”
“Understood. Thank you, Older brother.”
Saying that, Rachel took the key from Kent and locked the shop.
On the way back, Al, who had returned to his fairy form, spoke to them.
“Master. How was Rachel-sama’s chest?”
“Hey, what if she hears you?”
“It’s all right. From this distance, she can’t hear. So, how was it?”
Rachel walked a little ahead of Kent, in front of him. She seemed to be in a very good mood, now that she could have her own shop (though it didn’t have bread-making facilities, it was technically a branch of Marie’s Bakery).
“Well, it was soft and the size was just right, so it felt good to touch?”
“Is that so? I’m glad I lied if it pleased Master.”
“What do you mean?”
“Actually, it wasn’t necessary to remove your clothes to inject magic power, and Master, you know, a contract can be made with a little blood, not milk. Besides, Master had nothing to do with producing milk; I just cast a little growth-promoting magic. Of course, the magic’s effect has worn off, so no milk is coming out now, is it?”
“What?!”
Kent couldn’t help but exclaim at Al’s casual confession.
“Older brother, what’s wrong?”
Her hair and skirt swirling, Rachel turned towards Kent and spoke. Kent was so captivated by the sight that he was a little slow to respond.
“Uh…”
“Weird Older brother.”
Saying that, Rachel turned in the direction she was walking and started walking again.
“I believe it turned out well, since both Master and Rachel-sama seemed satisfied.”
Al said, floating beside Kent.
The next day, Kent finished his morning work and headed to school to enter the classroom for his remedial class.
“Good morning, Kent-san. This is the second day of remedial class. Let’s do our best.”
It wasn’t time for the class to start yet, but Tia was already waiting in the classroom.
“Good morning, Teacher Tia. It’s still before the start, but you’re early.”
“I learned so much yesterday, I couldn’t wait for today.”
“I’m sorry about yesterday. I ended up doing something extra when I was supposed to be the one receiving instruction.”
Yesterday, Kent had neglected his remedial class and had been instructing Tia instead. He recalled that and felt remorse.
“It’s fine. I was planning to teach from scratch since the student got a total score of 0 on the remedial class yesterday, but I was surprised when I saw the test results from before. You were originally the top student. Why did you get 0 points last time? Forgetting your name… I can understand that for one subject, but it’s inexplicable for all subjects.”
Tia tilted her head.
“Actually. I did a self-scoring, and I believe I got close to full marks in all subjects. Of course, I wrote my name.”
Kent hesitated about whether to tell her, but decided to convey only the facts to Tia.
“Is that so? Was it some kind of paperwork mistake?”
Tia didn’t seem to know the details of that situation, as she hadn’t been assigned to this school at the time of the previous test.
“What should we do? I can stop the lesson and give you a test right away. I’m sure Kent-san could clear it without any problems.”
“Yes… For now, I’ll take the test once we reach a point where Teacher Tia has no concerns about conducting future lessons. What do you think?”
Although Kent wanted to finish his remedial class by taking the test quickly due to Caro’s situation, he thought it would be more advantageous to continue the remedial lessons for another reason.
“I’d appreciate it if you’d say that, but is that okay?”
“It’s fine.”
And so, Kent continued her remedial lessons, pretending to be a student, and instructed Tia.
“Um, what should I say here?”
“Here, if you say it like this… I think the students will be interested.”
“I see. Then, what about here?”
Tia learned various things from Kent. Since Kent’s teaching methods were clear from the start, Tia absorbed them with admiration for her own skill development.
The remedial class ended, and Kent returned home and then went to his part-time job at Marie’s Bakery.
“Welcome home, Older brother. I have permission from Marie-san, so let’s go.”
The moment he showed up, Rachel snatched him up and took him to the new store.
“Welcome home, meow.”
“Were you a good boy?”
Rachel and Kent entered the new store in the commercial district (which was under preparation) by unlocking the door, along with Caro. Inside, Mike was curled up in a sunny spot. Noticing Rachel’s arrival, he got up and greeted them.
“Um, is there a fairy here?”
“Caro, you can’t see him, can you? Mike, can you materialize?”
Although Caro couldn’t see Mike with her eyes, she seemed to Sense his presence with her sense of smell and turned towards where Mike was. Just in case, Rachel asked Mike.
“I can do that, meow.”
Saying that, Mike materialized.
“He’s a golden cat.”
“Mew.”
Caro said, stroking Mike. Mike leaned his body against Caro, seemingly enjoying it.
“Well, we don’t have much time, so let’s begin.”
Rachel said, with determination, to Kent and Caro.
