“Fyuuh, I’m tired…”
I collapsed onto my bed, letting out a sigh.
…Reflecting on today… What can I say? It was an incredibly intense day.
It felt like it was an extremely long day…
Thinking about it, I woke up yesterday around 4 PM.
I’ve been awake ever since, so that’s about 30 hours straight of being awake… It’s only natural that a single day would feel so long.
I did pass out once from the earthquake, but does that count as sleeping…?
Even so, I’m not that tired. It might be because everything that’s happened has me all keyed up… I guess.
But, this cat-eared body is quite resilient too… Kirika-san also said she was fine for a couple of days without sleeping…
My recovery ability seems to be abnormally high too, because just lying here, the fatigue is melting away.
But, I feel like I was like this in my teens too… As you get older, this recovery power definitely declines… I didn’t want to get old, though.
This body… Could it be that I’m getting younger? If so, that’s a happy surprise.
My skin’s firmness and radiance feel completely different from yesterday… Is my hair always this silky smooth?
Even the fur on my tail is shiny black and so smooth.
Anyway… I’m reveling in the luxury of resting on a bed for the first time in 30 hours.
It’s about 10 PM, so naturally, it’s completely dark… However, I’m not sure if a day in this world is 24 hours.
This 10 PM is based on my room’s clock, but does that mean it’s Japan Standard Time…?
Somehow, the sunset seemed strangely long, so I have a feeling a day might be around 25-26 hours, but I won’t know for sure until tomorrow morning.
For one thing, it seems like no one here uses clocks.
Everyone seemed to act very casually about time… Judging by the sun’s height, or their internal clock?
If that’s the case, what do they do at night? Maybe they judge if morning is near by the position of the stars and moon, or by changes in temperature…
Looking out the wide-open window, the large moon is still visible.
…Is it a little smaller than yesterday? Well, even Earth’s moon appears to change size based on its distance from Earth.
The red moon, which is a strangely busy object that rises and sets about three times a day, is not visible now.
It seems to be some kind of satellite orbiting at a very high speed in a distant orbit.
But with two moons. If you go to the seaside, the tides must be incredibly chaotic…
Being influenced by the gravitational pull of two moons, the tides would be quite violent, and I suspect there would be instances of rivers flowing backward along the coast.
However, it’s strangely emotional to think about what it’s been like to sleep in bed at night. It’s been years.
I’d gotten used to sleeping during the day for years, so it feels new.
The window is open, and even at night, the humid wind of the equator, like a tropical rainforest, blows across my cheeks, muggy and hot.
But, it might be better than the hot, humid nights of Gunma’s summer…
It’s still stuffy and humid… but there’s a unique freshness to it, like being in the mountains…
I considered turning on the air conditioning, but the outside air, carrying the scent of the forest, felt so pleasant that I deliberately left the window wide open… it feels quite nice.
By the way, the girls were making a racket in the bath just a while ago, but they’ve quieted down now.
Naturally, Kirika and the others didn’t have a habit of bathing.
Manager, despite being a cat, loved baths, so she was a peculiar cat and knew how to bathe, explaining various things to everyone.
Well, Manager’s “bath” was just putting hot water in a tub and soaking in it…
She would lie on her back like a human, soaking up to her shoulders, looking comfortably relaxed.
But she seemed to have observed me carefully and learned a lot, as she properly explained how to wash and rinse hair.
Shampoo and such are sold at convenience stores, so we used proper ones.
It’s understandable that she first tried to bring out cat shampoo…
Kirika and the others also seemed to have used conditioner; they all seemed very happy about how shiny their hair and tail fur had become.
Mimi and Momo, I thought their hair was oddly dull and messy… it turns out they just hadn’t been taking care of it.
They were also talking about the size of each other’s chests…
Just to be clear, I… didn’t barge into that women’s paradise, did I?
It can’t be helped if I unintentionally overhear their conversations.
After all, cat ears have incredibly sharp hearing.
And Manager, as a matter of course, invited me to “take a bath together!” Kirika, and even Mimi and Momo, didn’t show any displeasure, so the atmosphere suggested it would have been okay to join…
I tried my best, resisted the temptation, and shook my head no!
Considering our time as cats, Manager and I used to bathe together, so maybe it’s not a big deal now…
But for me… bathing together with them in their cat-eared girl forms… well, it’s not bad! But I think that crosses a line that shouldn’t be crossed!
Then there’s the shapely Kirika-san… and Mimi and Momo, who are literally legal lolis.
I suppose each of them has their own unique charm.
Being in a cramped bath with them and having skin contact…
Ah, I’ll say it!
It’s an extremely exciting, dream-like situation!
It’s truly a harem… a man’s romance!
…Or at least, that’s what I’d like to say.
But, it’s probably best to refrain from saying things like that… I think.
Why…? Dammit.
I wish all these adult reasons would just explode.
By the way, all the girls decided to make the northwest six-tatami room, which serves as a bedroom and storage room, their sleeping quarters.
It’s not very spacious, but it has air conditioning and tatami, so it’s quite cool when you lie down.
Japanese tatami is excellent for dealing with humidity and heat!
When I told everyone to go get their futons, they didn’t come back for a long time. When I went to check on them, they were all lounging on the tatami, enjoying the cool air from the air conditioner, so I quietly closed the sliding doors.
Occasionally, I can hear their cheerful conversations and excited squeals, so it seems they’re all getting along well.
Incidentally, that futon room was secretly Manager’s favorite spot…
When the sun began to set in the west, it would cast a nice, slanting sunlight, creating warm spots.
On days like that, she would always curl up on top of the futons in the futon room.
Well, anyway, this is my time alone now… I feel like I can finally be by myself.
But at the same time, I feel a little lonely being left out… It’s a complicated feeling.
Today’s entry also ended up being nearly 6,000 characters, so
I’ll split it into morning and afternoon for uploading. (Sweat)
