Chapter 5 Recap: Characters Introduced So Far – Otherworldly Adventurers and People
**Shamanias Continent**
* **Meticle**: Summoner (Bat Species)
A half-succubus woman who was a prominent figure at the Adventurer’s Guild in Kogatan, the third city on the Shamanias Continent. She’s apparently quite upright, though I wouldn’t know. She took pride in her ability to fly using the bats she could summon. She guided Derus and his party to the observation room at the top of the dome city and informed them of the continent’s dangers.
* **Linzen**:
The Guild Master of the Kogatan Adventurer’s Guild and a male Giant Dwarf. He initially treated male adventurers harshly with the intention of “lighting a fire under them,” which led to Derus and his party being refused a request once. His waist circumference is what would be considered enormous in this world.
* **Bellgrace**:
An older Lion Beastkin gentleman who is a prominent figure at the Adventurer’s Guild in the capital city, Munsan. He’s a power-focused type. Anju and Helen saved him when he was trapped in a cave in the Nochilku Mountains, and they also saved his blind son, Roimerai. Anyone with “Wing” at the beginning of their party name is under his patronage, but some, like Gado, have falsely claimed a relationship, even to the point of their heads being served.
**Milishitan Continent**
* **Rubas**:
A receptionist exclusively for Dwarves at the temporary Adventurer’s Guild established in Ikutamakki Village. However, because Derus married the Dwarf Princess, he is treated as a Dwarf (VIP treatment). She told him about the subsequent events involving the cute Dwarf Saint, Karuh, whom he had previously helped.
* **Galus**:
The captain of a Dwarf troop (Komomo Harvest Team) residing in a restored abandoned village located on the path from Ikutamakki Village to the Children’s Dungeon (now Komomo Dungeon). Derus repaired this village. Upon learning that Derus is royalty of the Dwarves (his son-in-law), his treatment of Derus became more polite. When they cleared out a beehive on the way to the dungeon, Galus was of great assistance with the dismantling and other tasks. They are scheduled to meet again.
* **Stella**:
The Head Maid working at the Avakane family’s residence, which is essentially Derus’s home. She is a mature woman around fifty years old. Along with her subordinates, the three maids Karuhi, Metsuba, and Minozo, who seem likely to cause a shock, she has been acquainted with Derus for a long time. She was supposed to have cleaned the room of Ric, whom Derus had defiled twice as his fiancée.
* **Itsutra**:
A rough adventurer from the Jutapi territory, adjacent to the Avakane family’s Branusiava territory. He has a diagonal scar on his face. He forcibly came to seize the position of Guild Master at the Adventurer’s Guild and even spoke ill of Illion, the next lord. However, he was defeated due to the wicked woman tactics of Helen and Anju. It would be good if the story ended here…
* **Thomas**:
The captain of the Avakane family’s private soldiers, but he is gradually handing over his duties to his son, Gress (Ric’s sword instructor), as he can no longer keep up with the passage of time. When Derus’s adoptive father went to the Jutapi territory, Thomas always accompanied him for security.
* **Fanny**:
An old woman selling shaved ice at the Adventurer’s Guild window. Because she had caused trouble, everyone bought one each and ate it. It’s just between us, but later Nina bought and ate six cups without anyone knowing.
* **Macollin Avakane**:
The current lord of the Branusiava territory in the Namusia Kingdom and Derus’s adoptive father, who bought him as a baby. He has a dignified presence, and Derus feels a slight tension every time he meets him. He declared that his biological daughter, Ric, would be given to Derus as a slave. His wife, Azusser Avakane, is always smiling but surprisingly particular about her makeup.
Also, as a brief recap, here are his adoptive brother, adoptive sister, and former harem members.
* **Illion Avakane**:
The heir to the Branusiava territory in the Namusia Kingdom. He was critically ill, and at death’s door, he was saved by the Elixir Derus sent him. Perhaps because of this, he is more affirming of Derus’s words and actions than before, readily agreeing to participate in events like the pot-rolling race. Although he has found a new fiancée, he is still somewhat frail following his illness. However, he shows a decisive side, such as when he struck his own sister, Ric.
* **Ric Avakane**: Swordsman. Four years older than Derus when they parted, now five years older.
Derus’s adoptive sister and former fiancée. She wears glasses and has blonde hair in a vertical roll. She is the leader of the party “Derus Flyers,” named after Derus. She had trained Derus to be absolutely obedient to her in all things, but there seems to be a reason for this, which Nina and the others appear to have noticed… She went to the Movermas Continent to retrieve Derus, but due to various circumstances, she is currently on her way back to the Milishitan Continent. What will happen now with her impending enslavement?!
* **Frau**: Cleric. Nine years older than Derus when they parted.
Once Derus’s magical tutor, she has long silver hair and is somewhat buxom. She was engaged to Derus, but despite her age, he never made a move on her, leading her to “betray” him, or so it appears. But what is the truth…?
* **Mijuki**: Magician. Four years older than Derus when they parted.
A refreshing older sister with blue hair styled in twin tails, she always hugged Derus. She was also engaged to him, but he never hugged her back, leading her to feel “betrayed and stolen,” or so it appears. But what is the truth…?
* **Harvey Gagarna**: Tamer. The same age as Derus when they parted.
He has short blue hair, but it’s longer than Mogunami’s. Overall, he is healthy, and his chest is average or slightly larger. He was effectively presented to the Avakane family by the Gagarna Baronetcy, but Illion didn’t want him, so he became engaged to Derus. He gave up on Derus after he didn’t make a move on him for three years, saying, “Animals are more honest,” or so it appears. But what is the truth…?
*Note: The ages of the Derus Flyers are compared to Derus because the author is unsure due to birthday differences. Derus himself has forgotten everyone’s birthdays except Ric’s.*
I’ll add any omissions later!
**Personal Message**
I apologize for how excessively long Chapter 5 has become. I got carried away by the positive feedback and ended up rambling… It wasn’t because I was intentionally dragging it out, but rather because I wrote down what I wanted to write one after another, and this was the result!
However, I can hear your voices saying, “Enough already,” and I want to write new works, so I will do my best to bring this to a proper and serious conclusion. That said, I passed the preliminary selection for Net-Con 12, and I don’t know what to do… such a ridiculously playful novel.
My current plan is for Chapters 6 through 8 to each have about 24-26 episodes, followed by a final chapter to wrap things up, which might have a few more episodes. The crucial “payback” was decided from the beginning to be “before the final chapter,” so until then, it will be a gradual unveiling.
However, my writing is a living thing, so I can’t say for sure what will happen. If the evaluation of this work suddenly increases, there might be an extension after Chapter 10, but for now, the plan is to introduce one otherworldly person in each of Chapters 6, 7, and 8, leading to a grand finale in the final chapter.
With that said, this work is scheduled to conclude next spring. What kind of “payback” awaits? And what will be the ultimate enemy in the end for the Seven Great Demon Lords?!
I would be grateful if you would continue to accompany me for a little longer. Therefore, Chapter 6 will begin without a break. Please don’t say that the character introductions were effectively a day off >.< It's true, though! [==Important Request==] If, after reading this work, you feel: * It was quite interesting. * I want to read more! * Huh? It's a novel, but it has a strange, unique smell! Then, please dig a hole in your backyard and shout out your "original monster impression!" Surely, some scout from another world might come, and you might become incredibly successful?! ...So, thank you for waiting. Starting next time, Chapter 6, the dancing chapter, begins! by Kengo Matsuri Also, as always, reports of typos and misspellings are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
