“Alright, let’s get out of here!”
Ship Bridge, the second largest city in Samin’s capital, Saminse, was attacked by the Seven Great Demon Lords, including “Shear.” We had to cancel the Theater Company “Kukkoro” to rush to the scene and somehow repel them with our full force.
“Are we chasing them?”
“Anju, we need to prioritize rescue efforts here.”
While our swift response prevented the situation from being as bad as it was in Saminse, the Giant Golem (apparently called a robot) had still caused some destruction, and there were a fair number of injured people. It was time for our rescue squad to get to work.
“Clarice, Helen, Haitou, head to the hospital. I’m counting on you.”
” ” “Yes!” ” ”
“We are the Adventurer Guild.”
It was my first time inside. Upon entering, I saw a place filled with refugees, mostly Rabbit-beastmen. Yellow, fairy-like mascots were decorated everywhere, but I could overlook that.
“The enemy has been defeated. Critically injured individuals will be teleported to the hospital. Those with minor injuries or those who can be healed by magic, please line up!”
The severely injured were instantly teleported by Anju. Others were treated with Nataira’s Shooting Star Heal, and Nina and I also used our heals… but then!
(Why is a long line forming in front of me?!)
And it was all women, Rabbit-beastmen! Every time I healed someone, they’d sniff me… and some even took the opportunity to hug me in the chaos!
“Alright, alright, next!”
A large male Bear-beastman peeled me away. Yes, this was a real male Bear-beastman, unlike the bear-like Rabbit-beastman from Saminse. He was smaller than the Guild Master from Saminse, though.
“Thank you!”
“You’re welcome. My name is Bobby, I’m the Guild Master. Well, all the Rabbit-beastwomen in this country are good girls, but you should be careful of a select few boys like you.”
“Yes, I’m listening.”
With the Guild Master providing a form of security, we surprisingly finished treating everyone quickly. Clarice and the others rejoined us, and we immediately convened a strategy meeting in the conference room to discuss countermeasures against Shear.
(A Fox-beastman maid is serving carrot tea. She’s cute.)
Her name tag read “Diana.” She blushed a little as she looked at me. Yes, Rabbit-beastmen are nice, but Fox-beastmen are too! There’s something so sleek about them.
“Alright, let’s conduct our strategy meeting. Natsu-nee.”
“Yes, Shusser-kun, please distribute the materials to everyone.”
I wonder when they made these. They had the Adventurer Guild’s mark on them, so perhaps they were prepared beforehand? And Shusser-kun has it tough too, with school resuming tomorrow, just like Anju.
“Before the Seven Great Demon Lord Shear came to Samin, the last appearance was two and a half years ago, in ‘Fumikka’.”
Indeed, it says “repelled in two months.”
“Their weakness was already discovered then; they are apparently weak to mental attacks.”
“What? For a large golem, it’s quite delicate.”
“Regarding that, there are rumors that ‘someone is controlling it from within’.”
So, that giant golem was just a shell?
“The previous repulsion involved immobilizing all three golems using a certain method, forcibly dragging out the humanoid monster inside, and defeating it. However, while they naively took a breather, the golems escaped unmanned. Their destination is unknown, and the monster that was controlling them supposedly claimed it was ‘controlled’ itself. Of course, it was disposed of.”
That’s frightening. So, there’s a new controller now. Nina asked Natsu-san with a grim expression.
“Do you have any leads on the current controller?”
“Hmm, I would like to hear more information from Fumikka, but the Royal Knights who handled it are keeping the information confidential, so even the Adventurer Guild doesn’t know the details.”
…Natsu-nee is taking a rather Adventurer Guild-like stance. Or perhaps it’s because she’s local and knows many people. And her previous party name, what was it, something that sounded like an elderly Rabbit-beastman crying and shouting? She was the sub-leader of that, wasn’t she?
(And then, they eloped with Shusser-kun to join us… that’s right, isn’t it?)
“Understood. I have connections in Fumikka. In fact, they are probably still there.”
“Ah, they participated in the auction, didn’t they?”
“They were also a seller. Due to the rules and contracts, they should be staying at Shucco tonight.”
We’ll hear the details there.
“Now for the latest information from the Guild Master.”
“Ah, first, please convey our gratitude for repelling them and for your help. Thank you, Kuma.”
Bobby bowed respectfully.
“Like last time, they apparently fled beyond the port. It’s believed their dwelling is in the sea, but there are many monsters there. It would be good if someone could scout freely underwater, but do you know anyone convenient enough for that?”
…Yes, we do. At least, we do.
“Even if we find and capture them, we have no idea how to bring them out. We’d like you to investigate that, but can you trust your connections in Fumikka?”
“Trust them? They’re the royal family!”
“What!!”
“If it’s an emergency, I can go and ask them right now.”
I hope they’re still awake.
“Understood. Then, we will entrust that task to ‘Nina Starlights’.”
“Ah, payment will be in gold, of course, but also rare items, if you please.”
“Leave it to us. We’ll consider it, after all, our opponent is one of the Seven Great Demon Lords.”
We don’t want to keep playing this game of chase for too long.

“Yes, Nina-san, but where are they staying?”
“It’s a place both we and Deres know very well.”
