Chapter 0:38. So Urgent
Yi Chengying, holding a partially burned incense stick in her small hands, paced anxiously and helplessly in front of Qin Gou’s cave dwelling.
The door opened, and a person emerged. It wasn’t Qin Gou, but the little fatty, Chen Keshua.
“Ahem, greetings, Lone Shadow Saintess. Little Qin is waiting for you inside. I’ll be leaving now.” Chen Keshua’s face was peculiar, suppressing a smile, his plump face flushed to a liver-like color.
Yi Chengying was taken aback at first. A hint of panic rippled through her serene eyes as she said, “You heard that? I was just saying a few jokes earlier. Don’t take them seriously. If you dare to spread them, don’t blame me for being impolite.”
Chen Keshua patted his chest and said, “Saintess, please rest assured. I didn’t hear anything, and I didn’t see anything.”
“Then why are you still standing here foolishly? Still looking at me? Look again and I’ll gouge your eyeballs out!” Yi Chengying’s tone suddenly shifted, her small face puffed out indignantly.
The little fatty cried. So, it wasn’t just the Palace Lord, even the Saintess was this terrifying. What had he done wrong? Why were all the important figures in the Mystic Maiden Palace so harsh on him?
Yi Chengying, with a nervous expression, stepped into the cave dwelling. She saw Qin Gou seated calmly at the table, leisurely pouring himself a cup of tea.
Yi Chengying put down the incense and picked up the teacup, saying respectfully, “Thank you, my lord.”
Qin Gou smiled and said, “Little Chair, aren’t you always boasting about being the smartest and most sensible? Then guess why I summoned you here so urgently this time?”
“My lord, Little Chair is wronged!” Yi Chengying immediately wailed, her small face contorted, and she cried out loudly.
Qin Gou chuckled, speechless, “You wench, you’re quite good at playing the victim. I haven’t even said what it’s about, and you’re already crying injustice?”
“Little Chair knows what my lord is referring to… Although I didn’t personally expose my lord’s true identity, I brought Sister Cuiyan, who possesses an Eye-type Spirit Tool, before the Palace Lord. This has made my lord very angry.” Yi Chengying was close to tears, saying, “But the command for Sister Cuiyan to set off and return as soon as possible was issued by the Palace Lord long ago. Little Chair had no power to stop it.”
“So you fanned the flames from the side, afraid my identity wouldn’t be exposed sooner?” Qin Gou raised an eyebrow and said playfully.
Yi Chengying blinked her large, watery eyes and said pitifully, “Little Chair made a mistake and will never dare to do it again. Please punish Little Chair, my lord. Use the same method as last time, vigorously pinch the tips of Little Chair’s toes one hundred times, and Little Chair won’t cry out in pain.”
“As if!” Qin Gou gave her an annoyed glance. This wench was probably addicted to the game.
“When you discovered that Ling Cuiyan’s Eye-type Spirit Tool had no effect on me, you must have been terrified, right?” Qin Gou changed the subject and asked with keen interest and a smile.
Yi Chengying nodded vigorously like a pecking chick. Halfway through, she frantically shook her head, not daring to breathe, and quickly said, “Lord Qin’s power is naturally beyond what a mere Little Chair can fathom.”
“Flatterer.” Qin Gou suddenly reached out, pinched Yi Chengying’s fair and soft chin, and said with a wicked smile, “Aren’t you even a little curious how I did it? By all reasonable accounts, no disguise technique in this world can escape the detection of an Eye-type Spirit Tool, like natural enemies without a place to hide.”
“Okay, I’m curious.” Yi Chengying was stunned by Qin Gou’s sudden action. Was the Ancestor not planning to play with her feet this time, but her face instead?
“Then don’t move!”
Qin Gou stared directly at Yi Chengying’s fair and pretty face. As she breathed rapidly, a strange demonic mark flashed across his eyes, instantly storing Yi Chengying’s appearance and replacing Wu Qi’s previous form.
Qin Gou released his grip on Yi Chengying’s chin and said, “Next, I’m going to show you something fun, but you must promise absolutely not to make a sound.”
Yi Chengying pursed her lips and nodded.
Immediately, Qin Gou transformed, taking on Yi Chengying’s appearance. Both her outward appearance and her form-fitting pleated flower skirt were flawless.
“Ah!” Yi Chengying couldn’t help but scream.
Qin Gou glared and covered Yi Chengying’s mouth, “Didn’t I tell you not to scream?”
“Mmmph… Little Chair was scared.” Yi Chengying’s beautiful eyes widened. “No wonder even Sister Cuiyan couldn’t see through it. It turns out the Ancestor didn’t disguise at all, but completely shapeshifted, changing the entire structure of the body. But… Little Chair heard that such an ability is very difficult to achieve solely with human strength.”
“You don’t need to worry about that.”
Qin Gou suddenly took out a rope-like artifact from his Nas, and handed it to Yi Chengying. “Do you understand what I mean?”
A hint of terror flashed in Yi Chengying’s eyes. “Ancestor, this, this is too much. Little Chair hasn’t seen much of the world. Please choose a different form of punishment.”
“Cough, stop the nonsense. You should know what to do, right?” Qin Gou gritted his teeth. What kind of absurd things was this wench thinking?
Upon hearing this, Yi Chengying grimaced and quickly tied herself up with great skill. The ropes were tightened around her clothes, accentuating some key areas and making her appear more alluring. Judging by her proficient technique, this girl probably bound others frequently.
“Although it’s not exactly what I imagined, this will do.” Qin Gou rubbed his chin. “I know this Spirit Locking Rope can’t really restrain you, but it’s just a safeguard. If I return and find you gone, or the rope loosened, you really don’t want to know the consequences.”
Yi Chengying was stunned by these words. She had thought the Ancestor was going to use some novel method she’d never seen before to punish her severely. She never expected he just wanted to restrain her, and couldn’t help but curiously ask, “My lord, where are you going?”
Qin Gou stood opposite Yi Chengying, tidying his clothes, which gave Yi Chengying the peculiar feeling of looking in a mirror. “Of course, I’m going to see my good disciple!”
“Ah?” Yi Chengying exclaimed in shock again.
Qin Gou got a headache. “I almost forgot about this.” As he spoke, he took out a silk scarf from his Nas and stuffed it directly into Yi Chengying’s slightly open mouth.
“Mmmph mmmph!” Yi Chengying looked wronged, wriggling her exquisite body like a spoiled child, but Qin Gou completely ignored her. He simply waved his hand and said, “Wait for me obediently.” With that, he strode away.
All that remained was the Little Chair, looking utterly defeated, confined within the cave dwelling. Her slender shoulders trembled continuously, appearing extremely distressed. This was because the last thing the pitiful Little Chair truly wanted to say was: “What tea did the Celestial Master give Little Chair just now? Can I go to the restroom first… Little Chair really can’t hold it any longer, I’m in such a hurry!”
