Chapter 0.3 The Great Liar, The Sissy
In a private room at the finest restaurant in the city.
“To a fruitful partnership!” Qin Gou handed Zhao Xinting several spirit stones and raised his wine cup.
Zhao Xinting was truly famished, his eyes glowing green. After finally swallowing his food, he picked up his wine and clinked cups with Qin Gou, “You know, you’re the most interesting guy I’ve met during this period of bad luck.”
“Haha, eat more, I’m not that hungry anyway. You’re so thin though, you must have gone through a lot of hardship?” Qin Gou waved his hand and said with a gentle smile.
Zhao Xinting chuckled, “Yes and no. I’ve been plagued by misfortune lately, but my physique has always been like this. Most importantly, thank you for today. If not for our cooperation, I’m afraid I would have had to sacrifice my dignity and beg for scraps just to fill my stomach.”
Qin Gou chuckled slyly, “Don’t just say nice things. When we split up later, if you take fewer spirit stones, that will be the best way to thank me.”
“Split up? What do you mean?” Zhao Xinting asked, confused.
“Now that our job is done, we’ll naturally go our separate ways. You’re dressed quite well, so you must have a family. You should hurry back now that you have your travel expenses,” Qin Gou said as he looked Zhao Xinting up and down.
“Family?” Hearing the word, Zhao Xinting’s mind flashed with the image of Arc-Moon Mountain, then the sect gate of the Purple Extreme Demonic Sect, before finally letting out a helpless smile, “I can’t go back, at least not for now. Since our partnership was so pleasant, why don’t you keep me with you for a while longer?”
“You want to follow me? Are you sure?” Qin Gou said with a hearty laugh, “Kid, you’ve probably realized by now that I’m no good person.”
“Compared to me, you’re already a sage.” Zhao Xinting’s lips curved into a complex smile, regardless of whether the other party could understand.
The young brat before him wasn’t intimidated by his cultivation, nor did he admire his status. It was purely out of genuine appreciation for Zhao Xinting himself that he offered aid during his most desperate moment. Zhao Xinting, who had long held a high position, making decisions that determined countless lives and deaths, hadn’t experienced such a feeling in a very long time.
“By the way, I still don’t know your name.” Zhao Xinting looked calmly at Qin Gou. He had made up his mind that once he successfully passed the Mortal Transformation stage, if this man was still alive, he would bestow upon him immense benefits.
“Name? We’re not that familiar yet,” Qin Gou said with a smile. “From now on, you can just call me the Great Liar.”
“Interesting. Someone would belittle themselves like that.”
“After all, I am a great liar. If others aren’t careful, they’ll face eternal damnation, and that includes you…” Qin Gou shrugged. “And you, what should I call you?”
Zhao Xinting knew that his ‘Great Liar’ brother wasn’t asking for his real name. After a moment of thought, he smiled with abandon, “I am, the Sissy.”
“Pfft.”
Qin Gou couldn’t help but burst into laughter, “Are you drunk? That self-deprecation is even harsher than mine.”
“No. You don’t understand. Even a sissy is a genuine man. Precisely because I’m called a sissy, I’ll never be mistaken for a woman. This ‘sissy’ is both an insult and a form of acknowledgment, I like it!” After saying that, Zhao Xinting heartily drank a large gulp, acting incredibly unrestrained. Immediately after, he erupted into a violent coughing fit, his pretty little face flushing red, his eyes teary. He glared at Qin Gou, sticking out his small tongue like a playful puppy, “This wine is too strong! Help, I’m so dizzy…”
Qin Gou was dumbfounded, “That was… so manly.”
The forces of the Seed Demon Sacred Cult were completely surrounded by a group of robed figures with their faces thoroughly concealed, leaving them with no capacity to aid their Young Sect Master.
A sinister-looking saber swept through the air. Gu Feiyan’s eyes glowed with a faint pink light, and her posture was as graceful as a swallow as she swiftly dodged the merciless, lethal strike.
Gu Feiyan’s face was like frost. Holding a dark long whip, she coldly demanded, “Who exactly are you people?”
“Heh heh…”
A burst of wild laughter erupted. The burly man standing beside a withered old man tore off his hood, revealing his true face. The grotesque demonic mark on his face contorted with his smile, “What? After so many days, Sister, you don’t even recognize your own brother?”
“Second Brother… Gu Yinjiu?” Gu Feiyan’s expression was one of shock. If she wasn’t mistaken, the strange markings on Gu Yinjiu’s face at this moment bore a striking resemblance to the demonic marks unique to the Abyssal Demon Race.
Gu Yinjiu ignored her surprise and instead cupped his fists respectfully towards the withered old man beside him, “As expected of an envoy. Your divine calculation is unmatched; you found my third sister’s whereabouts with such ease.”
Demonic marks flickered in and out of existence in the withered old man’s eyes. He said indifferently, “Gu Yinjiu, remember that this power wasn’t given to you for free. Since you have already reaped the benefits, you must strictly fulfill your mission. Don’t think about sibling affection and soft-heartedness when you’re at the finish line.”
“Understood.” Gu Yinjiu looked at Gu Feiyan with a sinister grin and said, “Soft-hearted? How could this young master be soft-hearted? After all, when has my dear sister ever shown me any sympathy? You banished me to such a remote outpost, making me suffer! Sibling affection? It’s all bullshit! After all, we’re not born of the same mother.”
“That was all your own doing,” Gu Feiyan replied, neither subservient nor arrogant. “Haven’t you already caused enough suffering for your full brother, Gu Xunhe?”
“Look, my dear sister, you haven’t changed one bit. Even with death looming, you’re still so stubborn.”
“Just you?” Gu Feiyan’s gaze was icy.
“Hahaha, how laughable. After three days apart, one should look at others with new eyes. Moreover, this young master has completely sold himself to the esteemed Grand Princess.” Gu Yinjiu roared with laughter, and his aura, no longer restrained, erupted completely. He had indeed reached the late stage of the Li Jiu Realm.
“You actually sold yourself completely to the Demon Race?” Gu Feiyan’s eyes were filled with disbelief. As the Young Sect Master, she enjoyed countless resources, and only recently had she managed to break through to the Li Jiu Realm.
Gu Yinjiu lunged at Gu Feiyan like an illusion, his saber slashing down repeatedly. “So what? As long as I can get my revenge and seize the entire Seed Demon Sacred Cult, everything I’ve sacrificed will be worth it.”
Gu Feiyan’s body swayed like a willow in the breeze. It seemed slow and soft, yet she steadily dodged all of Gu Yinjiu’s attacks. Her Foreseeing Eye spirit tool was incredibly miraculous, and she had cultivated the “Daobreak Art” left by a Dharma Aspect True Person, so her combat strength had already advanced by leaps and bounds.
However, from beginning to end, no one had said that this spellcasting battle was a fair one-on-one duel.
Seizing the opportune moment, the withered old man casually waved his hand. A giant claw formed from black mist pierced directly towards Gu Feiyan’s back.
A triumphant smile played on Gu Yinjiu’s lips as he took in the intense unwillingness and longing in Gu Feiyan’s eyes.
“Goodbye, third sister.”
In a flash, a black figure suddenly appeared in Gu Yinjiu’s vision, causing his triumphant smile to freeze on his face.
It was a tall, slender figure in black. No, it couldn’t be definitively said whether it was human or not. Because aside from this moment, no one present had been able to notice its existence.
From guarding the eaves of the Seed Demon Sacred Cult’s main hall to following her all the way to the Mystic Maiden Raksha Palace, day and night, rain or shine, this person had practically lived as Gu Feiyan’s shadow.
And at this moment, he emerged out of thin air beside Gu Feiyan like a phantom. With a single finger, he pierced through the black mist claw, causing it to dissipate into nothingness, and quickly created a large distance between himself, Gu Feiyan, and the withered old man.
“You beasts, long time no see. With me here this time, no one will be able to harm her.”
Hearing that incredibly familiar voice, Gu Feiyan was overjoyed, her clear, tearful eyes filling with joy. “Little Qin!”
