Chapter 0.46 The Demon Emperor’s Thoughts
“Then I only ask you not to hurt Mo Yu anymore, okay?” Mo Ning squatted in Kong Ling’s palm, cradling her face with her hands, wiping away tears incessantly, and whimpering, “Mo Yu is our flesh and blood, born of the same mother. How could you be so cruel to him, always hitting and scolding!”
“Impossible.” Kong Ling said with icy, clear eyes, “I need him to hate me, to eventually erupt and kill me with his own hands, to finally be free. I believe this day is not far off. The unreasonable and willful behavior I constantly exude must have made Mo Yu hate me to the bone.”
“How detestable, Kong Ling! If your esteemed master, the Celestial Master of Arc-Moon Mountain, knew you had done so many evil deeds, he would surely not let you go!” Mo Ning shrieked, clenching her small fists in anger.
A faint light flickered in Kong Ling’s eyes, and she pursed her lips into a smile, “Wouldn’t that be even better? I don’t want to live anyway. To die by his hand would only make me more satisfied! Mo Ning, don’t you understand yet? Ever since you caused me to fall into the Demon Race Abyss, what is death to me? If it weren’t for the spirit charm of your father, the Demon Emperor, binding me, I would have killed myself before him long ago!”
“You guy are simply beyond redemption!”
“Then can you finally understand how I used to see you? The thousand-time cursed demon, the bloodthirsty whip of the Demon God, the Grand Princess, rumored to be formed from the tears of the Goddess of Vengeance?!”
“You, you’re bullying me too much! You clearly know I’ve reformed, yet you’re not only cruel to Mo Yu, but also so harsh to me. You’re making me furious! I don’t want to be with you anymore!” With that, Mo Ning suddenly jumped up in Kong Ling’s palm, her tiny body flying into the air as she whimpered and rushed out the window.
“Idiot, where are you going? It’s dangerous…”
Kong Ling’s eyes widened in alarm. Just as she was about to pull Mo Ning back, she stopped, gritting her teeth and saying angrily, “I don’t care if you live or die! With those devil horns on your head, you look just like the rhinoceros beetles Master took me to catch when I was little. Anyone can see you’re not a good person, yet you still live in a daydream thinking you’re a living Bodhisattva! With that meager cultivation, it’s best if you suffer humiliation outside! You’ll come back to my side soon enough, won’t you?”
At this moment, the maid’s reverent voice was heard from outside the door: “Grand Princess.”
“Didn’t I tell you not to disturb me anymore?”
“It’s His Majesty the Demon Emperor summoning you.”
…
The underground palace, filled with chilling cold, had only a few eerie, faint blue candles casting weak light.
Kong Ling’s steps were extremely cautious at this moment, as the underground palace was piled with a kind of extremely rare yet fatal spirit material… ‘Eternal Seal Ice’.
A slight misstep could trigger it, causing one to be frozen within, immobilized for a long time, becoming a living dead person.
Near a large piece of Eternal Seal Ice, Kong Ling saw a towering black figure – the current ruler of the Abyss, the Demon Emperor.
“Greetings, Your Majesty the Demon Emperor,” Kong Ling said calmly, neither subservient nor arrogant.
“Demon Emperor?” a cold laugh echoed. “I am your biological father.”
Kong Ling calmly lowered her head, making no response.
“I heard you are quite confused by my orders recently? Even throwing a tantrum?”
Kong Ling nodded. “I don’t understand the meaning of this order from Your Majesty the Demon Emperor. To immediately procreate? What benefit does this bring to Your Majesty the Demon Emperor? What good does it do for the Abyss?”
“You don’t need to understand. Just know that this is my will.” The Demon Emperor’s tone was devoid of emotion.
“I respectfully decline.” A determined glint flashed in Kong Ling’s eyes.
“Hmph!”
With a cold snort, an invisible hand fiercely grabbed Kong Ling’s neck, completely immobilizing her and lifting her into the air. The powerful force made Kong Ling almost suffocate, her face rapidly turning red.
“In this Abyss, no one dares to defy my will, and you, as my descendant, should be even less so!” the Demon Emperor said sternly. “I just want to tell you one thing: no matter how you resist, my command will not change. Don’t keep making a fuss and annoying people.”
“Plop.”
Kong Ling’s soft body heavily hit the ground.
“Understood?” the Demon Emperor demanded.
“Understood.” Kong Ling said with a wry smile.
“You may leave.” the Demon Emperor said heartlessly.
Kong Ling struggled to her feet and turned to leave.
Watching her departing back, the Demon Emperor muttered to himself thoughtfully, “No one knows if you will have another chance to reincarnate… Cherish this final time. Before you disappear, at least leave behind an offspring. Don’t blame your father for being ruthless and cruel; this is my last resort.”
A moment later, another Demon Race man entered the underground palace to pay his respects to the Demon Emperor.
“Seventh Son pays his respects to Father.” The Seventh Prince of the Abyssal Demon Race knelt respectfully.
The Demon Emperor calmly looked at the Seventh Prince before him. “Old Seventh, do you know why I specifically summoned you?”
“This son does not know.”
“Then do you know that when I broke through to the Realm Lord Realm back then, it was an on-the-spot breakthrough followed immediately by several bloody battles? This caused a great drawback, making my realm extremely unstable, and with a slight misstep, I could even fall from cultivation and never recover?” The Demon Emperor’s tone carried a trace of melancholy and hatred.
“This son knows. That’s why Father has been secluded in this underground palace for years, needing so much dangerous Eternal Seal Ice to temporarily stabilize his demonic body. This has always been a pain in this son’s heart.” The Seventh Prince nodded, his eyes also showing a hint of indignation.
“As expected of my good child, you understand how to care for your father. It’s a pity that in these years, the effect of the aura emitted by the Eternal Seal Ice has become weaker and weaker on me. Perhaps at any moment, it will completely lose its effect, leading me to eternal damnation.” The Demon Emperor’s voice was grim.
“How could this be?” the Seventh Prince exclaimed in shock. “What should be done? Please instruct me, Father. As long as you give the order, this son will go through fire and water without hesitation.”
“Then I will ask you a question.” The Demon Emperor nodded slightly and asked leisurely, “If the ruler wants the subject to die?”
“The subject must die!” the Seventh Prince blurted out.
The Demon Emperor pressed again, “If the father wants the son to die?”
“The son must die!” the Seventh Prince gritted her teeth.
“Good child!”
As soon as the words fell, the Seventh Prince was instantly immobilized in the air by the Demon Emperor’s invisible power. His eyes flickered with terror as he hastily asked, “Father, what are you doing? Please, at least tell me the reason.”
“This is the method of bloodline reversal. Old Seventh, I gave you life; now it is time for you to repay me.” The Demon Emperor sighed deeply, his tone gradually growing colder.
“No! Absolutely not, Father. There must be other ways, Seventh Son is willing to serve you. Just give Seventh Son a little more time!” The Seventh Prince tried to struggle, but it was useless against the Demon Emperor’s terrifying power. He shouted in panic.
“Good child, no need to say more. Dedicating everything you have is the best repayment to me. And on the road to the Yellow Springs, you will not be alone. Your bloodline is thin and your cultivation is low. Your dedication alone will not be enough to stabilize my demonic body for too long. Soon someone will join you.” After speaking, the Demon Emperor flicked his sleeve, and the Seventh Prince’s body shattered like glass, turning into balls of scarlet mist that rushed into and merged with the Demon Emperor’s body.
“Old Seventh…”
Feeling his body reborn within him, the Demon Emperor slowly stood up, clenched his fists, and his pupils were filled with coldness.
Everything he was doing now, and everything he would do in the future, was an act of extreme cold-blooded madness, but he would never regret it.
“I don’t know how much longer I will have to wait.”
“But as long as that day doesn’t come, I will keep my eyes open and quietly watch everything in this world… So, no matter the price, I absolutely cannot die from falling realms or depletion of lifespan!”
“I will personally witness your awakening from your slumber and your magnificent return, Lord Saint Monarch, Wei Ban.”
“Qing’er is already the ruler of the Abyss. If you knew this, you would surely smile happily.”
…
Suddenly opening his eyes, Qin Gou awoke.
Qin Gou was surprised to find himself tied up and his spirit energy sealed. He sensed four or five Demon Race individuals nearby, who did not seem friendly. He inwardly thought, fortunately, he had activated the bloodline of the Faceless Hermit before entering the Abyss; otherwise, these demons might not have given him a chance to wake up at all.
But why had he fallen unconscious? It seemed to be from a collision with a bouncing thing when he was descending. He couldn’t remember what it was.
“Brave warrior, you’re awake!” a Demon Race youth named Shi Hou said excitedly.
“Brave warrior?”
Qin Gou raised an eyebrow and asked thoughtfully, “Why do you call me that?”
“Because you are the person foretold by the Priest, the one who descended from the heavens, the true brave warrior who can save our tribe!” As Shi Hou explained, the other demons nearby nodded in agreement.
“If I am truly the prophesied brave warrior, then why are you treating me like this?” Qin Gou struggled a bit. The chains wrapped around him were clearly not ordinary. The reason he couldn’t use his spirit energy was likely due to these chains.
“That’s naturally because we’re afraid you’ll escape on your own.”
“Why would I escape?” Qin Gou said with a chuckle. “As a brave warrior, I will naturally do my best to help your tribe, diligently solve your troublesome problems, and lead you towards a more glorious future! Untie me immediately and tell me, do you lack spirit stones or something…”
“Brave warrior, what are you thinking?”
Shi Hou and several other demons exchanged bewildered glances and said incredulously, “Our tribe is very wealthy, we lack nothing, and we absolutely won’t untie you!”
Qin Gou said steadily, completely baffled, “You said you need me to personally save your tribe, but how can I act when I’m tied up like this?”
“You don’t need to worry about that.”
Shi Hou said with a pure smile, “Our chieftain said that as long as they offer you, Brave Warrior, as a male consort to Scorpion Heart Old Demon, he will stop troubling our tribe. Doesn’t that count as saving us? Brave Warrior, you have measureless merit.”
“Who is Scorpion Heart Old Demon? Is that guy male or female, and what does he look like?”
“Scorpion Heart Old Demon is an enlightened fierce beast. As for its appearance… it has a human body and a scorpion’s head, with a pair of majestic and imposing giant claws. And he prefers male companionship! Since you, Brave Warrior, are so handsome, you will surely win Scorpion Heart Old Demon’s favor!”
“How dare you! What do you know about aesthetics, you young brat! How am I handsome? You’re handsome, and your whole family is handsome!”
