Chapter 0, Section 28: Meeting with Tears
Qin Gou immediately withdrew his right hand, glaring at Ao Banwei with feigned anger. The Little White Dragon immediately became obedient, holding her small hands and pretending to play with her fingernails, daring not to meet her Master’s gaze.
Qin Gou shook his head in exasperation and continued to question Wu Ti Yue, “Little Black, can you tell me why you had such immense courage back then, to the point of wanting to end yourself right in front of me on the mere command of a Residual Soul/Emotion Fragment named ‘Jingle’? Do you truly not value your life that much?”
“Moreover, I recall that it wasn’t the first time Jingle issued such a command, was it? A certain Little Saint Monarch I encountered on Hei Cheng Chen Island back then also severed his own meridians and died because of her. How can you people still be willing to obey her commands?”
Upon hearing this, Wu Ti Yue sighed, flipped over, and transformed back into the likable little girl in the black dress. She sat on the ground in a carefree manner and said, “The reason is simple. Lord Jingle has been immensely kind to me; I owe her the full revenge of my past grievances. Even though this was because I am one of the indispensable Little Saint Monarchs, she made me remember it forever! For this life, I am not just a pawn used to revive the Nine Saint Monarch, but also a living, breathing Wu Ti Yue with flesh, blood, loyalty, and righteousness!”
“And even if Xu Bing and I both died due to Lord Jingle’s command, on the day the Nine Saint Monarch revives, we could still be reborn as a servant monarch through the laws she established with her immense sacrifice, although we would lose most of our memories from this life. Therefore, in my opinion, exchanging these costs for Lord Jingle’s escape was worth it. It’s a pity… we were still a move short and fell into your clever scheme.”
“So that’s how it is,” Qin Gou nodded slightly, then couldn’t help but ask doubtfully, “What do you mean by falling into my scheme? Didn’t you foolishly take the Joyful Precious Pill yourself?”
Wu Ti Yue shook her head, then forced a bitter smile. “How many times do you intend to play these tricks to amuse children? There’s no need to comfort me, I know in my heart that tricking me into taking that damned drug was definitely within the grand calculations of the Master of Arc-Moon Mountain! If I hadn’t encountered a terrifying opponent like you, how could this Wolf King, who has seen countless storms, have lost so utterly and been defeated so thoroughly?!”
“As the saying goes, all beings are like chess pieces, with each move calculated three steps ahead. You saw through me. Although it’s too late, what you said is absolutely true!” Qin Gou learned his lesson this time. Regardless of how baseless the misunderstanding, he admitted it all, lest this simpleton completely break down.
As expected, after hearing Qin Gou’s words, Wu Ti Yue, though pouting with a face full of unwillingness, did not cry or fuss like before. Instead, she seemed to deeply agree, feeling both respect and awe.
“By the way, where is that Jingle Remnant Soul now? I want to see her,” Qin Gou asked Ao Banwei.
“Since Little Black has merged with Banwei, Master can successfully meet Jingle in Banwei’s dreamscape.”
“Then let’s not delay.”
“Mhm.” The Little White Dragon nodded obediently, lay back on the bed, and slightly closed her eyes. At the same time, Wu Ti Yue stomped her little foot and transformed into a black light, once again entering Ao Banwei’s body.
Qin Gou sat by the bed, summoned the Dream Soul Spirit Tool, lowered his head, and instantly entered Ao Banwei’s dreamscape.
In the lush green bamboo forest.
“Ao Ai, it’s been several months. Have you missed this Venerable Self?” Qin Gou teased with a smile.
“Not really. I just felt it was boring that you never came, and I always won when arguing with Banwei. Naturally, I know you must be here to find Jingle. Just pass through this bamboo forest, I really don’t get along with that person.” Ao Ai shrugged.
“Thank you.”
Soon, Qin Gou found Jingle, who was half-reclining beside a large rock.
“Master of Arc-Moon Mountain?” Jingle asked.
“It is I,” Qin Gou replied with a faint smile, simultaneously examining the woman before him. Her appearance was a few years older than Banwei and Ao Ai, her voluptuous figure exuding more charm. However, on her snow-white, smooth forehead, there was a hideous scar that couldn’t be completely concealed even by intentionally letting down her hair.
At this moment, for reasons unknown, both of them fell silent, and the atmosphere felt rather strange. Qin Gou was surprised, while Jingle’s gaze hovered suspiciously over the man before her, as if she had something to say but hesitated.
However, Jingle was the first to break the silence. “My scar bothers you?”
“Can a Residual Soul/Emotion Fragment get injured?” Qin Gou voiced his doubt.
“Naturally not. The way I appear represents the appearance of the Nine Saint Monarch’s true self during a certain period,” Jingle seemed indifferent, speaking nonchalantly.
“Thank you for clarifying.”
“You seem very curious about me? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have come to find me so quickly,” Jingle asked.
“Indeed.”
“But I don’t wish to communicate with you much right now. As for the reason… if there’s anything you truly want to know from me, have Ao Banwei or Ao Ai ask,” Jingle suddenly said after taking a deep breath.
“Do you hate me that much?” Qin Gou asked, bewildered. Just a few minutes ago, Ao Ai had told him that she had a deep conflict with Jingle, yet Jingle would rather have Ao Ai relay a message than speak to him directly.
“Why should I hate you? It’s certainly not for that reason… According to the laws personally set by the Nine Saint Monarch, the winner takes all and the loser perishes. Even if I wanted to harm you now, I no longer have the right,” Jingle shook her head, her emotions complex.
“But as for the real reason, you certainly don’t want to tell me now? Fine, there’s always tomorrow.”
It wasn’t a particularly urgent situation, so Qin Gou saw no need to act the villain. He waved his hand, about to leave, after all, a Generation’s Celestial Master was quite magnanimous.
“Thank you,” Jingle whispered the two words, looking at Qin Gou’s retreating back.
Only when Qin Gou had completely disappeared from her sight could Jingle no longer suppress herself. Clear tears flowed like pearls from a broken string. Covering her small mouth, she curled up helplessly, her delicate shoulders trembling uncontrollably.
“Why is this happening?” Jingle murmured, her voice filled with confusion. The emotions of ‘shock’ and ‘joy’ within her had merged and magnified severalfold, far beyond that of ordinary people. Since awakening her consciousness, this was the first time she had shed tears. She had no idea why she was suddenly experiencing such strange emotions after meeting Qin Gou in person. Was he an old acquaintance? But the Master of Arc-Moon Mountain only appeared within the last thousand years, and the Nine Saint Monarch had long since passed away before this person burst onto the cultivation world stage. She also had no memory inheritance related to Qin Gou. The tears Jingle shed at this moment, these unusual feelings, were neither sadness nor resentment, but incredibly complex. If they had to be described in one sentence, it would be… “To meet you in this moment of life, I must have used up all my luck. Only now do I realize that I once breathed the same air.”
Inside the room where Qin Gou usually resided.
Beneath a pillow strictly protected by several miniature formations, a delicate rouge box flashed with spiritual light. The Righteous Valor Fairy, Li Yuanzhen, dressed in a gray-blue and white tri-colored Daoist robe, exuded a serene and transcendent beauty. She stretched her slender waist, revealing her perfect and graceful curves. “I fainted too quickly before and forgot to ask Mu Man’er if Ah Qin discovers I’m still a maiden in the future, won’t that be too shocking? That’s not right! I haven’t had a chance to lose myself yet, so why would he find out?”
