Chapter 0.5: The Demon is an Inch Higher
Qin Gou practiced female walking postures indoors for a while. After finally getting used to this curvy body that caused his waist to ache with every step, he slowly opened the door and went out.
Unexpectedly, Chi Yu, that insomniac, was still lingering in the corridor. As soon as he saw Qin Gou disguised as Wu Qi, he exclaimed in shock, “That fast?”
Qin Gou gritted his teeth and said, “No one will think you’re mute if you don’t speak.” His voice was exactly the same as Wu Qi’s.
Chi Yu rolled his eyes at “Wu Qi” and said, “I know you’re not satisfied and are holding a lot of resentment, but don’t take it out on me.” As he spoke, he walked towards room Tian Zi No. 3 and knocked on the door, saying, “Qin, what’s wrong with you? Are you upset because of what I just said to you? No, I can’t bear such a heavy sin. I was just teasing you, don’t take it to heart.”
Qin Gou was so furious that smoke was coming out of his ears. He quickly said, “Don’t disturb him. He’s already very tired and has fallen asleep.”
“What? Tired already?” Chi Yu’s eyes widened, and he shook his head in disbelief. He said with great pity, “What is this? He’s so young, how could he be like this? Pitiful, so pitiful!”
“Just don’t disturb him.” Qin Gou realized that if he continued talking with Chi Yu like this, he would definitely be angered to death on the spot. He quickly fled the scene of trouble and rushed towards Gu Caihe’s room.
“Bang bang bang.”
He knocked politely on the door. A melodious and pleasant voice came from inside, “Who is it?”
“It’s me,” Qin Gou said gently.
“Wu Qi? Come in.”
Entering the room with a calm expression, Qin Gou discreetly scanned his surroundings out of the corner of his eye. Thankfully, there were no decadent scenes he had imagined.
Gu Caihe was alone in the room, sitting cross-legged on the bed, dressed neatly. Her smooth black hair cascaded over her shoulders. She had likely been meditating.
“Wu Qi, why did you come back?” Gu Caihe asked softly.
Qin Gou nodded and said vividly, “Just now, I saw Senior Brother Qin Yue from Tian Zi No. 3 Building and Chi Yu from Blood Drinking Slope arguing fiercely. I quickly went up to mediate, and thankfully, I managed to pacify them for the time being.”
Hearing this, Gu Caihe nodded slightly. After a moment of thought, she said, “It’s good that there’s no trouble. As long as they don’t make too much of a fuss, we don’t need to get involved. We’re not far from Mystic Maiden Palace anyway.”
“This servant understands,” Qin Gou replied respectfully.
Gu Caihe suddenly looked at Qin Gou’s normal-looking face and smiled, “Interesting, really interesting. It seems you’ve been ‘cultivating’ very diligently recently. You were just ‘harvested’ by me, and you’ve recovered so quickly. But don’t worry, I’m not that heartless. I won’t bully you repeatedly.”
“Harvested”?
Did people from Mystic Maiden Raksha Palace not only harvest men but also women? Did they even target their own disciples?!
Qin Gou was greatly confused and astonished by this but showed no flaws on his surface. He immediately put on a smile and said, “You flatter me.”
“You, you say nice things, but don’t curse me in your heart. You know, all of this is for the Palace Lord. When we return to the palace, I will also be ‘harvested’ by the Palace Lord. The benefits I receive are no more than what you ordinary disciples get,” Gu Caihe said in an extremely gentle tone, as if invisible hands were soothing the pain in one’s heart.
“This servant wouldn’t dare,” Qin Gou said, constantly deflecting with pleasantries.
Gu Caihe lightly nodded her head, her smile revealing two cute dimples, “Of course, you must never resent the Palace Lord. After all, if she hadn’t been shielding us from the trials and tribulations of the Cultivation World and protecting us desperately, how could Mystic Maiden Raksha Palace be enjoying peace and prosperity now?”
“This servant knows.”
Qin Gou said this verbally, but a storm was raging in his heart, and he vaguely guessed a terrifying truth.
“That’s enough, it’s getting late. You should go back and rest too,” Gu Caihe said listlessly, glancing at the dark sky outside the window before waving her hand.
“Yes, Saintess,” Qin Gou bowed deeply and replied before turning to leave.
However, this simple sentence made Gu Caihe’s eyes shine with a strange brilliance.
After Qin Gou left the room, Gu Caihe continued to stare at the gently closing door, murmuring to herself, “What an impressive imposter!”
“Who is it? Wu Qi and the others would never call me Saintess… She mentioned Qin Yue and Chi Yu. This is definitely not a casual remark, as I might become interested and question her further. Only by being an eyewitness could she have recounted the events flawlessly before me! Therefore, her true identity must be Qin Yue or Chi Yu!”
“But that day at Blood Drinking Slope, I had already carefully assessed Chi Yu’s abilities. He absolutely doesn’t have such exquisite disguise skills. Among all the selected male disciples, only Qin Yue was accepted directly because he showed the aptitude to cultivate the ‘Azure Emperor Painting Scroll’. So, he is most likely Qin Yue!”
“Truly exquisite disguise techniques, what a brilliant young man. Unfortunately, since you now know the secret of Mystic Maiden Palace, I can’t let you return to Seed Demon Sacred Cult as you wish in the future.”
Gu Caihe analyzed the situation fiercely and surprisingly saw through all of Qin Gou’s disguises. However, what she didn’t expect was that a tiny speck of dust in the corner of her room suddenly flashed with a faint light and disappeared without a trace.
Far away from Gu Caihe’s room, Qin Gou, having reverted to his male form, leaned against the edge of the Spirit Boat in an无人处 (unmanned area). While listening to the system’s successful mission notification, he gazed at the bright moon. A flower shaped like a human ear bloomed in his palm, allowing him to hear every thought Gu Caihe had in her room clearly.
“What a formidable woman.”
