Chapter 143: 79. Don’t Look at Me
The dense noise outside the building sent chills down one’s spine, as if countless enlarged cockroaches were covering your home, fearing that the next moment, one would run onto your face or crawl on some part of your body. But nearby, it wasn’t the disgusting cockroach, but truly life-threatening monsters.
“Damn it! Damn it! I told you we shouldn’t have come out!”
“I feel like they are everywhere!”
Fisher walked in the front, human limbs writhing above in the corridor, reaching down as if grabbing at the people running below like toys. But each time, just before touching the people below, they were cut apart by a sharp gleam of light.
Ignoring the nagging youth behind him, as long as they had come out with him, there was no turning back. All he could do was protect his loved ones around him.
The sheepkin, holding a dagger, panic-stricken followed Fisher, glancing at the monsters jumping in the darkness. The light from the staff raised by Roger illuminated the nearby wall, where a human-worm faced him with a stiff, grotesque expression.
In the white pupils of that monster, the figure of the gentleman holding the fluid sword was reflected.
“Fisher! No, something’s wrong! Look quickly!”
Just a few seconds later, Roger’s words made Fisher look at the window on the stairwell wall. Outside, monsters stretched their palms inward, quickly severed by Fisher. But they seemed to feel no pain; even when part of their bodies was missing, they still relentlessly chased after the people behind.
Several monsters surged down from above, crawling in through the nearby windows.
“Help! Something is grabbing my shoulder!”
A lady from Shivali screamed loudly. Fisher raised his hand, cutting towards the monster extending its poisonous hand. More and more monsters rushed in from behind, and Fisher glanced above; it seemed that there were fewer monsters above than below.
Fisher and Roger swung their weapons to strike nearby monsters while releasing magic from their staffs. This way, a group of people ran through the darkness, facing the relentless monsters until they reached the corridor connecting the third floor to the fourth floor. Just as they were about to reach the fourth floor, an unexpected event suddenly occurred.
While Fisher was covering the others running up, on the wall beside him, a flashing magic rune illuminated, and a light blue beam shot into the crowd. After exploding several monsters’ heads, the fading light suddenly enveloped the last-running sheepkin.
“Help me!”
He suddenly collapsed, crawling on the last few stairs. The people in front ran quickly, and it was only when the sheepkin called for help that Fisher realized someone had fallen behind. The monsters quickly grabbed the sheepkin’s limbs, dragging him downward.
“Damn it, don’t mind that subhuman; we are almost there.”
“He’s just Mr. Clow’s slave; we have to hurry!”
The younger folks behind had already reached the edge of the fourth floor, calling out to Fisher as they looked back at the situation. Fisher paused for a second, then looked at Roger at the front of the group and shouted, “Just a bit more distance; can you take them back?”
“Ah?” Roger wiped the sweat from his forehead. He glanced at the corridor, which was merely a few dozen meters long, and nodded, saying, “I can, but I see that they are setting up barrier magic over there. They might not be able to come out to help; Selina’s magical ability is limited. Let’s not worry about that sheepkin.”
“Exactly, let’s hurry back; that bunch down there is going to catch up!”
Fisher shot a glance at the desperate-looking sheepkin revealed by their conversation. After a second of silence, he extended his hand to Roger and said, “Give me the staff!”
Roger hurriedly tossed the glowing staff down. After catching it, Fisher jumped down. Amidst the howls of monsters, Roger stared wide-eyed as Fisher, holding the source of light, dashed back to chase after the dragged sheepkin on the third floor.
“Is that guy insane? All for a subhuman?”
“Shut up! If you talked less, you might be more useful than that sheepkin, you coward!”
Hearing the young man from Shivali complain further, Roger coldly rebuked him, yet he dared not chase down further. He believed in Fisher’s strength to return safely, and all he needed to do was get these people back quickly.
Strangely, ever since Fisher left, those terrifying monsters seemed to temporarily abandon them, all running toward the third floor, as if they were truly there just to chase Fisher.
Roger led the large group to the doorway of a room, where layers of deep white light were flashing. Inside, Selina was engraving protection magic, her complexion pale. This barrier would protect the room from intrusion.
Selina’s magical power alone wasn’t enough, so the nearby Carlo had to help.
Prince Losang glanced at Carlo’s profile and suddenly asked, “Aren’t you just an ordinary attendant?”
“What’s wrong? I’m not here to kill you; just enjoy the protection someone provides.”
This sentence amused Prince Losang, who squatted down beside Carlo. Not knowing if she used perfume, Losang kept smelling a pleasant fragrance.
Just then, a dense sound of footsteps came from outside the door. Ken stood up and said, “It’s Fisher and the others returning!”
The door swung open, revealing the figures of Shivali scholars’ family, along with a panting and drenched Roger, but neither Fisher nor the male sheepkin was seen.
“Father!”
“Oh my God, my son.”
Prince Losang looked over and suddenly furrowed his brow, then asked, “Where’s Mr. Fisher?”
“Yeah, and where’s my sheepkin? You damn guys didn’t leave him all alone down there, did you? No! He’ll be eaten by those monsters!”
Roger wiped his sweat and had yet to speak when a young man behind said, “He was foolish enough to run up to the third floor for that sheepkin! He could have come with us; it was his choice!”
Prince Losang’s frown deepened. He glanced at that young man, and his innate authority frightened him into silence. But now the question was how to save Fisher. Before he could speak, the Shivali scholar who lost his sheepkin rolled up his sleeves in anger,
“You damn Lotus! How dare you say that about my sheep! I’ve known from your father that you’re a wastrel! Besides using your father’s money to woo girls, you’re good for nothing, you trash! How can you have no sympathy at all? He has a life too!”
“Shut up, Clow, you perverted homosexual who likes subhumans!”
The quarrel in the room grew wilder. Prince Losang was close to losing his patience as he clenched his fists, ready to erupt.
“Enough!”
A soft reprimand halted their argument within the room.
Young man Lotus and Shivali scholar Clow both froze slightly. Even Prince Losang’s expression stopped, as the one who interrupted their conversation was not anyone else but the usually silent female student, Jasmine.
Jasmine was lightly gasping, unsure if it was the words she had just said or her anger that made it hard for her to calm down. In the dark, she stared angrily at both sides. Then, without a word, she threw the books strapped to her back onto the ground and walked straight out of the room, ignoring the chaos.
Ken, as the principal, wanted to stop her, but when he saw the flickering blue in Jasmine’s eyes, he strangely refrained from making the next move. He quietly watched her leave the room, then closed the door, leaving only her flat announcement, “I’m going to find Teacher Fisher.”
The room fell silent. Prince Losang glanced at the people from Saint Nali University, unsure of the situation. Could it be that this female student was sent by the Nali intelligence agency to protect their safety? Is that why these people didn’t intervene?
After several seconds, young man Lotus finally scoffed and muttered, “Another one going to her death.”
“You damn mutt, I’m going to teach you a lesson for your father today!”
Clow, who was insulted as a perverted homosexual, spat and quickly punched that young man, unexpectedly knocking him down, and then he pounced on him, raining blows on his face.
“You insolent brat, you owe my sheep an apology! Come on! Apologize!”
“Are you crazy? Get off me! Dad! Mom! This guy’s gone mad!”
In the darkness, Fisher’s face was grim, his left hand gripping the staff, his right hand holding the black fluid sword, cutting through the headless or limbless human-worms as if slicing through vegetables. The stagnant stench filled the air as Fisher chased after the sheepkin ahead, his mind racing with thoughts.
These creatures seemed similar to the human-worms pursued earlier by Eil. Did that mean that behind the Pink Pavilion lay the sinner that Eil was after?
According to previous intelligence, the one behind the Pink Pavilion seemed to be the “original pioneer” Captain Blake, who had indeed roamed the demon realm once in the Saintess. Was Eil chasing after him?
Moreover, given the bizarre nature of these creations, did that guy also possess a Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans?
Fisher’s thoughts spun as he seized the moment to aim at the arm of the monster holding the sheepkin ahead. With a quick stroke, he swung the fluid sword, its mercury-like blade extending in mid-air, slicing cleanly through that arm.
The sheepkin screamed and fell to the ground. Fisher walked slowly to his side and asked, “Are you okay?”
The sheepkin glanced at Fisher, his face slightly flushed, shaking his head, but Fisher didn’t notice because he began to realize that the surrounding corridor was slowly twisting. Not just the corridor but even the open rooms.
It appeared that the one setting this magic had realized that the people above were releasing barrier magic and knew that relying solely on monsters wouldn’t work, so they prepared to rip apart the space inside to break the released rune.
Sure enough, the next second, the ground began to spin like a Rubik’s Cube. Fisher turned to look up and saw that the wall of the room holding the silver mirror had collapsed; all the rooms in the building were being rearranged. In mid-air, Fisher saw rooms flying down from upstairs and the people inside.
“There’s Fisher! He’s over there!”
Fisher saw the people in the room and quickly lifted the nearby sheepkin. Amidst the panicked shouts from Clow the scholar and the sheepkin, Fisher threw that sheepkin towards that direction.
In that case, they would gather together, and he would return to regroup with them.
“Oh, my little sheepkin, you’re finally back by my side!”
“Mr. Clow!”
The sheepkin was accurately thrown into the room, where muffled conversations ensued.
Fisher himself began to move again. Now the entire level was reversing: they were dropping down from the fourth floor while Fisher on the third was traveling upward.
Fisher looked at the rooms gradually descending and suddenly realized something was wrong. Prince Losang had been talking to him, but due to the darkness and distance, Fisher hadn’t heard him clearly, only felt he had something to say.
Reminded, Fisher glanced into the room and suddenly realized something was off. There, Jasmine, who resembled a little animal, was nowhere to be found.
Turning back to Prince Losang’s direction, he was pointing at himself. Did that mean Jasmine had come to find him?
The room completely vanished from Fisher’s sight. With a cold expression, Fisher pulled out the Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans, and layers of illusory text appeared.

[Jasmine, juvenile whale folk]
She was nearby!
Amidst the chaos, Fisher heard the shrieks of that group of monsters again. He turned his head and saw a flurry of creature limbs, seemingly blown away by a typhoon, flying out. In his astonished gaze, a giant shadow of a whale’s tail flashed on the corridor wall.
That shadow seemed like it was going to tear down the building. The next second, a figure appeared in front of Fisher as if swimming through the air.
It was a girl with a massive whale tail. Her usually smooth black hair had completely transformed into a deep blue representing the ocean. At that moment, in the darkness, Fisher noticed her whale tail and even her head were shimmering with tiny lights.
From the girl’s blue hair, two long black ears stretched out, but at the tips were two oval white spots, which in the dark appeared like a whale’s eyes.
But those were not eyes; the girl’s own eyes emitted light at that moment. Her face wore a chilling severity, and in her eyes flowed a darkness akin to an abyss that dispelled any cuteness, transforming her into a hunter’s cold demeanor.
However, what truly caught Fisher’s attention was that the girl’s previously proud mass of softness had somehow shrunk or changed, now significantly reduced!
That girl, who resembled a gigantic whale, was none other than Fisher’s student, Jasmine.
Previously, Fisher had been desperately trying to uncover Jasmine’s secret as an ocean subhuman, hoping she would expose a flaw herself. But now, she had directly appeared in front of him in her true form.
Jasmine’s little face was frighteningly cold. She lightly slapped her hand against the wall, causing it to crack as if yielding to her mountain-like strength, shattering the monster hidden behind that wall into pieces.
In the next moment, Jasmine’s icy gaze locked onto Fisher, who was standing still. She took a deep breath and surged towards Fisher like a roaring wave.
What’s happening?
Fisher felt something was off about Jasmine at that moment, so different from the cute girl he usually knew. Is this her true form as a whale folk?
Her tail swayed in the air, and unbeknownst to where the water source came from, moisture crept up the wall, and she lunged at Fisher like a giant beast from the ocean.
Fisher quickly raised his staff in front of him. Observing closely, he noticed that the water-imbued wall began to decay rapidly. The next moment, a massive force propelled Fisher toward the wall behind him.
“Bang!”
The wall collapsed directly, pain shot through Fisher’s body, yet he stared unwaveringly at the cold girl, Jasmine, pressing him down. The blackness in her eyes seemed ready to overflow, gazing at Fisher as if he were dead.
“Jasmine?”
A cut opened on Fisher’s cheek, blood dripping down. He calmly spoke while looking at Jasmine. Her eyes reflected Fisher’s image, and she seemed slightly taken aback. In the next second, the black water in her eyes began to glimmer with blue light, as if the blue was dispersing the blackness.
As the color in her pupils changed, her softness began to swell, slowly becoming the proud figure she once was.
“Eh eh?”
She spoke in a daze, as though just regaining her senses.
Jasmine hurriedly released the grip she had on Fisher and then covered her chest with her hands. She surveyed the situation now before her:
Returning to her original appearance.
Her Teacher Fisher, who had been pinned down and was injured.
The shattered wall and the room around her.
Her face turned redder, even her eyes tinged with pink, her whale tail softly landing on Fisher’s knee, and since her legs were still intact, she directly sat down on Fisher.
“I’m so sorry, Teacher Fisher, I… don’t…”
Flustered, she clasped her non-human ears and tail, her cheeks slowly turning to regret as tears began to fall in streams.
“I just wanted to come out and find you, but I didn’t expect… ugh. I was scared.”
Seeing Fisher look at her in astonishment, Jasmine thought that he was terrified of her non-human appearance, not realizing that Fisher was only captivated by her tears.
Jasmine covered her ears and tucked her tail behind her, but it was so large that it could not be concealed at all.
“Don’t don’t look at me.”
Her voice trembled with grievance, and then her soft little hands quickly covered Fisher’s eyes, plunging his view into darkness. However, her awkward pose in covering her eyes, combined with her neglected size, caused Fisher’s chest to sense the presence of something pressing against him.
“Jasmine, you should get up first.”
This was Fisher’s first sentence after his astonishment, his tone rather awkward.

Today both chapters exceed 5000 words, so we have ten thousand for today. Good good.
There are less than a hundred votes left to reach the set 500. If we reach that number tomorrow, I will add three more chapters. However, it might not be finished in a day; it might be postponed to two or three days.
Once again, I beg dear readers for their monthly votes, comments, and tips, I’m eternally grateful!
