**Chapter 152: 88. The Miracle of Love**
Fisher led Jasmine out behind him, gazing from a distance at the meeting building where the incident had occurred. The Nali Police had sealed off the area and had a construction team break through the floor on the first level, discovering a super-ring magic inscribed on the water pipes.
However, since Fisher had destroyed that magic among the spells, it had become vague and had evidently lost its original efficacy.
Based on Prince Losang’s description, the Nali Police had roughly classified the case as a terrorist attack led by the Sorceress Research Society, a cult organization. This conclusion was documented in the case files and reported to Parliament, which had led to the meeting broadcasted on the radio this afternoon.
Tomorrow, the New Party would hold a press conference, as the authorities had not responded in the past few days, and the media in Nali had been making wild guesses, with all sorts of absurd reports coming out.
For example, one newspaper claimed that this attack was because a scholar from Shivali coveted the beauty of a certain official male from Nali, and thus released magic to imprison everyone, blah blah blah… in any case, ridiculous speculations flew everywhere.
This was also due to the New Party implementing liberal policies in other areas of the market, so the media often made sensational remarks. If they understood that they couldn’t speak lies, then there wouldn’t be so many media outlets reporting on sea monsters and scandals involving popular stars every year.
Fisher, holding his staff, asked Jasmine behind him, “How about I decide where to eat this time?”
“Sure! As long as it’s what Teacher Fisher ordered, I’ll enjoy it properly,” Jasmine said immediately, her eyes shining at the mention of good food, clearly looking forward to dinner.
For the races that believed in Ramastia, food seemed more like a cycle of life. Although it was a cycle, it was also an essential and significant link, so they respected food greatly and showed no signs of waste. This was why she would say such potentially misleading words.
The reason Fisher mentioned that he would decide where to eat was that he wanted to check on Carolina and Losang, as he had promised her he would ensure she could withdraw unscathed after everything was settled. If she truly couldn’t entice Prince Losang, then the clues regarding his relic would be lost.
Fisher planned to dine at the restaurant next to Saint Nali Theater, as the play’s time was fixed, and he could then watch how things developed between the two of them.
Once Jasmine boarded the carriage, the Nali police had initially intended to seal the school, but at Prince Losang’s suggestion, they canceled that idea.
The situation was mostly no different from when they had gone out to buy magic materials from the school, except this time they were headed straight for the restaurant. Jasmine was happily swinging her legs in her seat, much like a waiting kitten wagging its tail, looking very pleased.
In Fisher’s imagination, the Whale Folk in the ocean trenches must wait each day in front of their houses. Perhaps they occasionally went out to interact, but aside from Jasmine’s mother and aunt, they didn’t seem to enjoy moving, just waiting for other Ocean Subhumans above to throw fish down every once in a while, then stretching their mouths to catch them?
That image was too beautiful and a bit hard to accept.
Fisher speculated that there must be dedicated people below to collect those fallen fish and distribute them to every Whale Folk that didn’t want to move.
This kind of begging lifestyle was evidently wrong, and their reason for remaining near Ramastia was unclear as well. If they only lived in the trench because they could hear Ramastia’s voice, that reasoning simply didn’t hold water.
Fisher suspected that their residing above Ramastia’s trench must have other purposes, but Jasmine was either unaware or unwilling to tell this human.
With such thoughts, Fisher and Jasmine got off the carriage near the Saint Nali Opera House.
Because the Godlin Festival had just passed, the streets were adorned with many golden decorations celebrating it. The Nali citizens walked back and forth, wearing happy expressions. The Godlin Festival was an essential annual event for Nali, commemorating the birth of Godlin the First, and many shops and places offered discounts.
It seemed that the Pink Pavilion was also joining in with some special offers.
Fisher first sent the letter intended for Elizabeth, then prepared to take Jasmine to try Shivali’s cuisine. After all, he had just met with the scholars from Shivali, and there was a decent Shivali restaurant near the opera house.
Shivali’s flavors were heavy, and their dishes had a somewhat smoky feel, echoing their homeland’s nickname, “Land of the Sun.” Fisher loved it when he was younger, but now he could only enjoy the meals Martha cooked.
Therefore, Fisher merely took a few bites and let Jasmine indulge.
Oh, one big feature of Shivali dishes is that they are large in portion and cheap, which was a way for Fisher to save money. Otherwise, with Jasmine’s appetite, eating Cardu’s and Nali’s exquisite dishes would surely bankrupt him.
“Is it delicious?” he asked.
“Mm,” Jasmine lifted her head from the Shivali’s giant steak, her cheeks puffed like a festive hamster, her adorable appearance making Fisher chuckle as he handed her a napkin.
After Jasmine chewed her food, she shyly wiped her mouth.
Before, she had heard Milica and Isabel say that Nali ladies maintained elegant manners while eating, but Jasmine had never cared for that. Although Isabel and Milica had mentioned her eating style wasn’t unattractive, she suddenly started paying attention to her eating habits in front of Teacher Fisher.
Oh, no, that wasn’t right; she had initially paid attention, but the food was too fragrant, and she forgot as she ate.
Fisher reached for another serving of mashed potatoes while Jasmine was busy eating, looking through the glass outside. It wasn’t long before the play began, and he was searching for Carolina or Prince Losang.
Before long, he spotted Carolina, dressed in a sleek black ladies’ dress, standing under a lamppost adorned with golden decorations, her hands clasped behind her back, looking serene as if waiting for someone. Many gentlemen passing by turned their gazes towards her beauty, not knowing the attractive lady was awaiting someone.
Not knowing the source of her attire, Fisher took a bite of mashed potatoes and silently watched Carolina. Jasmine noticed Teacher Fisher’s gaze and, of course, also saw the woman standing by the roadside.
“Isn’t that the lady servant from the magic earlier? Seems like she was sent by humans to protect that prince?”
Soon after, Prince Losang, dressed in a Nali suit, appeared on the street.
He had arrived in Shivali’s attire previously, which differed significantly from Nali’s clothing. However, his appearance was quite good, so wearing a Nali suit felt natural; their clothing didn’t show off the figure, somewhat concealing Losang’s wild muscles, making him appear more gentlemanly.
Losang walked up to Carolina, extending his hand as if asking her to take it, but Carolina glanced at him and continued on her way to the opera house without acknowledging him. Losang didn’t get upset and quietly followed behind her.
Not bad, Carolina.
Fisher wasn’t sure if Carolina was acting naturally or if she knew Losang liked this approach. How did it seem like her demeanor actually charmed Losang more?
“Are they… are they dating? The servant and the prince?” Jasmine asked, biting her fork, also watching the two walking farther away side by side as if following a drama.
As she watched, Jasmine expressed her doubts. She knew there were distinctions in status among humans; otherwise, other students wouldn’t respect her roommate Isabel so much, and even ordinary male students wouldn’t dare approach her.
Because she was a princess of a country.
By the same token, shouldn’t the prince of Shivali also be similarly noble? Why was he dating a servant?
Jasmine voiced her confusion, and Fisher was momentarily taken aback by her words, as they suddenly reminded him of his time in university with Elizabeth; that was a story of an orphan and a princess.
After all, he had once wavered due to the vast gap in status, but in the end, he still approached her out of affection, only to distance himself later when that affection faded.
Looking at the crowd in the distance, Fisher sighed with profound meaning, “In Saint Nali, love stories are common, and the general framework of the stories is consistent. They are tested by all sorts of setbacks and create miracles because of unwavering love. There is no standard format in romance; love is the only answer.”
Well, Fisher was explaining to Losang why he might fall for an artificial sorceress; that should count as a reasonable response, right?
Fisher did not look towards Jasmine, but she was slightly touched by those words.
So, Saint Nali was indeed a city filled with miracles, where love could overcome many difficulties, even such a vast gap in status.
Then, if it were love, could it overcome the gap between teacher and student? Could it bridge the differences between humans and Whale Folk?
Jasmine didn’t know the answer; she simply chewed the steak in her mouth, thinking that way.
After Jasmine polished off her three servings of steak, Fisher didn’t intend to order her another serving; she had really eaten too much, and there was still an air of wanting more.
But the play was about to start, and Fisher had to monitor that artificial sorceress throughout, so he had no choice but to interrupt her meal.
He handed Jasmine a voucher issued by the school, which was a benefit for the staff of Saint Nali University. As mentioned before, to attract enough teachers to come teach, the principal had tried everything, and this was one of the methods. Previously, Roger had told him that he could go collect it, and he often went to the opera house with Selina to watch plays.
Later, he could keep some for going to watch plays with Renee, but for today, he would invite Jasmine as a treat for his previous troubles.
Jasmine flushed as she accepted the voucher Fisher handed her, then adjusted her clothing, following him towards the opera house.
The sky was getting dark, but under the lamplight, the golden decorations symbolizing the Godlin Festival still fluttered in the wind. A gentleman wearing a gentleman’s hat, holding a staff, walked alongside a notably beautiful girl, both entering the building illuminated with lights ahead.
