Chapter 335: 110. The Three Children of Ramastia
“Wow, it feels so much fresher here than the air on the Western Continent. What are those little things hiding underground?”
Sitting in the carriage as Ke Lili and the others returned to the New Dragon Court, Jasmine kept looking around, marveling at the massive trees growing in the soil and muttering at the Earth Spirits that kept blinking at her from below. The climate and creatures of the Southern Continent are vastly different from those on the Western Continent and underwater; the hot and rainy tropical maritime climate gave Jasmine the illusion of breathing underwater.
Of course, her reserved nature made it impossible for her to shout out to the unfamiliar group of Ke Lili. Her audience was not the subhuman emissaries of the Dragon Court, but the deity Ramastia, who had always been by her side.
Next to her ear, a youthful voice suddenly spoke, explaining the scene Jasmine had just observed.
“Those are Earth Spirits, very cute little beings, and very ancient lifeforms. They were among the first experimental creations I made. At that time, the earth had no life, just pure elements: earth, fire, water, and air. I shaped these adorable little guys by imitating those elements, and because of their nature, they generally stay close to the elements similar to them.”
Ramastia’s voice was somewhat nostalgic, seeming to harbor a deep fondness for any life He created. Thus, even while recounting the process of creating such small, easily overlooked lifeforms, He remembered it clearly.
“At first, I had no experience in creating life. The lives I created were either too powerful or too weak, some were extreme; but as I mentioned before, life is always a miracle. Even without my intervention, they can weave their own unique stories. This is why I no longer create life; simply watching you all compose your own narratives is enough to satisfy me.”
Jasmine smiled softly, covering her mouth, meanwhile curious about what Ramastia meant by “too strong a life,” but before she could ask, Ramastia’s voice continued.
“By the way, there’s something I need to remind you of, Jasmine. I wanted to mention this earlier: it’s best to remain alert when walking alone outside. In the underwater world, Xu always protected you, which caused every creature you encountered to harbor goodwill towards you due to your mother’s great reputation. When you were on the Western Continent, Fisher took great care of you, so you’ve always been safe.”
“But now that you’ve seen humans and other races can bear malice, you need to be cautious and protect yourself. Even if those subhuman representatives from the New Dragon Court didn’t mean you harm, it may just be a result of good luck. You shouldn’t reveal all your information right away; always keep a defense up as your trump card. You must understand that in the old Dragon Court, you could very well have been captured and executed, do you understand?”
Jasmine pressed her lips together, growing a bit regretful. Just having left home, she hadn’t quite adjusted her mindset; now, as Ramastia reminded her, she etched it firmly in her memory.
“Ah, then should I not follow them to this so-called New Dragon Court if it’s so terrifying? Lord Ramastia, do you know about the Dragon Court?”
“A little bit. I’ve mentioned before that when I first created life, I poured quite a bit of effort into some of those creations, resulting in three very powerful beings. I requested Dalasgon, the Lord of the Gates, to release a few souls from the Spirit Realm’s inception as their consciousness, asked Anebatos, the master of fate, to grant them a long and smooth path ahead, and requested Ouyun, the creator of matter, to give them exceptional wisdom. I myself granted them the strongest bodies and capabilities.”
Ramastia sighed softly, the youthful voice carrying a hint of a sob.
“I regarded them as my own flesh and blood, granting them the ability to converse with me just like you do, giving them everything I could offer, yet I overlooked the fact that the gifts I bestowed upon them were also a curse.”
“The robust physiques I granted allowed them to grow, but the enhanced power led to conflicts among themselves; Dalasgon’s bestowed consciousness increased their independence but distanced them from me, each living their own life; Anebatos’ smooth path allowed them to oppress other weaker beings excessively, making them fearless against each other; and Ouyun’s bestowed wisdom gave birth to burning ambitions, ultimately leading to the inevitable first war among beings.”
“I should have foreseen this, Jasmine, just as I foresee the second war among beings and this Apocalypse Prophecy. It was only because I regarded them as children that I was unwilling to confront it. My three children, the World Tree Yggdrasil, the Heavenly Lock Jehovah, and the Dragon King Feimabaha, inherited a part of my power and gave rise to their own races, the Elves, Angels—nearly extinguished during the second war—and the Dragon Race you can still see today. Boo hoo.”
Jehovah and Feimabaha
Did Mom mention she had fought them before?
Jasmine thought to herself. Ramastia, whose figure she couldn’t see, sniffled in a pitifully cute manner, making one think of a chubby child trying to maintain composure while holding back tears. Jasmine quickly comforted Him softly.
“I’m sorry, Lord Ramastia, I didn’t mean to bring up painful memories. So, does that mean the Dragon Court we’re heading to is the realm established by your children, Feimabaha?”
“Boo hoo. That’s right, Feimabaha is the strongest among the three siblings, but he has a terrible temper, is very proud, and doesn’t like other beings; hence, he would never create a race of his own. The Dragon Race you see now are all forms of life created from the blood that dripped during their brawls when he was injured, inheriting part of his traits but consequently weaker than the mythical beings such as Elves and Angels.”
“Nevertheless, life is a miracle, and these mindless Feimabaha-derived beings have astonishingly created the largest and most tolerant kingdom in the history of the world.”
“That is the long-extinct Feimabaha Dragon Court.”
“Miss Jasmine, please come this way; we have arrived at the New Dragon Court.”
Originally, Jasmine had expected the “Dragon Court” based on Lord Ramastia’s description, but after an entire day of travelling south in a carriage, what she saw was disappointingly just a hidden valley where various subhuman races walked about, both in military form and as residents.
If it weren’t for the warm atmosphere making Jasmine feel very comfortable, she would have doubted if Ke Lili and the others were tricking her. It was far from the “expansive across the continent” described by Lord Ramastia, resembling a well-armed giant village instead.
“Ah, okay, thank you, Miss Ke Lili.”
Ke Lili looked at the charming Jasmine, feeling a hint of an indescribable kindness from her. She got off the carriage with Jasmine, where the huge Spiderfolk Xiya was peering curiously into the carriage with all six of her eyes, looking a bit puzzled.
“Strange, we caught the traitor; why is no one here to welcome us?”
Ke Lili glanced over at the busy figures within the vast valley, especially those constantly coming in and out around the entrance of a cave deep inside, her expression growing serious.
“No, Xiya, something must have happened; otherwise, someone would have come to meet us. Let those participating in the traitor pursuit return first to rest; after all, they’ve been chasing all night. We can take a few people to take the traitor to meet Raphael and introduce her to Miss Jasmine.”
“Understood.”
The trio dragged along a few people, including the heavily injured Halil, whom Jasmine had knocked down with her tail, along the lively valley until they almost reached the cave entrance deep in the valley. A hurriedly armored white female Dragonfolk suddenly ran out. Upon seeing her, Ke Lili and the others immediately stopped and greeted her.
“Miss Keshil, we’re back. We caught all the traitors, and it was thanks to Miss Jasmine here that we were able to do it. She’s a Whale Folk from the ocean; we brought her back to meet Lord Raphael.”
“Ah.”
Keshil, interrupted from her hurried actions by the others’ words, glanced quickly at the group they brought back before casually responding.
“Okay, thank you for your hard work. Please hand them over to Mut, who is responsible for detaining prisoners. Regarding the Whale Folk lady, take her to wait underground for a moment; Lord Raphael doesn’t have time to meet her right now.”
“Please wait, may I ask what has happened? I’ve noticed it’s been quite noisy inside since just now.”
Keshil’s expression seemed somewhat gloomy. She remained silent for a few seconds before sighing and turning to Ke Lili to speak.
“This morning, the human Shivali in the northwest suddenly launched an attack on the Sheepkin tribe in the wilderness. They intend to build a new city on the ruins of the Sheepkin tribe. Ral was sent by Lord Raphael to inform the Sheepkin to retreat, but she was struck by human artillery during the retreat. It’s said the situation is very dangerous now.”
“Lord Raphael has already requested all doctors from Twilight Valley to help, but there hasn’t been any improvement; in fact, it may even worsen. The valley’s doctors are helpless about her condition. I’ll head to the Treant Tribe in the north for assistance immediately; I need to leave now, please.”
Just as Keshil finished speaking and was about to turn to leave, Jasmine, cautiously raising her hand behind Ke Lili, spoke to Keshil.
“Um, I just heard what you said about the situation. If Ral is only facing danger from artillery wounds, I think I can help and heal her.”
Thanks to the assistance of the Brain Demon Keshil, Keshil clearly heard Jasmine’s words. She was somewhat shocked and turned her head to look at the peculiar subhuman following Ke Lili, her expression shifting slightly. Then, she walked quickly up to Jasmine, gripping her shoulders tightly.
“Are you sure?!”
“Um, well, although I can’t guarantee I can heal her, I should have a ninety percent—no, a ninety-five percent chance of being able to heal her if I try.”
Jasmine was taken aback by Keshil’s eager expression, her originally confident words becoming less certain, and she had to rephrase her statement.
“Ninety percent? That’s enough; that’s great! Other doctors… quickly, follow me! Ral is currently in the underground palace, and Lord Raphael is by her side. I’ll take you there, follow me!”
“Wait, okay!”
Jasmine pursed her lips and turned to look at Ke Lili behind her. Encouraged by her and her friends’ eyes, she followed Keshil as they ran towards the depths of the valley.
