Chapter 62 End of Volume
Hello everyone, I am Yi Weixie.
So far, the story of the first volume of the “Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans” has come to an end.
In fact, it’s not hard to see that the first volume is merely a preface-like story, telling about the scholar Fisher’s journey to the Southern Continent to take away the future Crimson Dragon Queen, only to eventually give up. The story in the first volume is quite short and is intended to set the tone for the entire book, with little involvement from the major factions, and the map of the Southern Continent is not fully explored.
If I had to categorize it, the official title of this volume should be “Prequel to the Crimson Dragon Queen.” After all, the Raphael we see in this volume is still an immature, impulsive, and irritable yet lovable character, far from the Dragon Queen who sweeps across humanity. However, after leaving Fisher, she will gradually resemble the legendary queen.
The first volume lays down many hidden lines, though many of them may go unnoticed. I hope that when mentioned later, some of these can be recalled. Overall, the story of the first volume occupies less than one-twentieth of the total map, so I say that the design of this book is quite grand, and I hope not to write it into a mess.
This time, I enjoy writing around characters. Light-heartedness and plenty of complications are the book’s highlights, but as you can see, there will still be many dark and deep cores within, and I will try to present them less explicitly (laughs). Following this topic, let’s talk about Feilon and Nana, the final boss of this first volume.
Feilon is modeled after Poldor from “Made in Abyss,” but his core details differ greatly from Poldor. The debate with Fisher about the trolley problem explains why Fisher ultimately chose to let Raphael go, even knowing she is the prophesied Dragon Queen.
Because in Fisher’s view, entrusting the safety of the world to one person is very dangerous and foolish, and when faced with the need to sacrifice a few to save the many, it indicates that many of the prior decisions have failed, leading to this situation.
This also answers why I did not set Fisher as a time traveler. He is an excellent scholar who maintains the basic qualities of independent thinking, allowing him to do many things that other humans would not, such as being close with subhumans, showing no pity for delicate sensibilities, yet always retaining the most fundamental kindness of humanity.
However, this doesn’t change the fact that he is a scummy man (whispers).
Alright, that’s about all I need to say. Lastly, I sincerely ask for the support of all the readers, including subscriptions, recommendation votes, monthly votes, and tips, which are crucial to me.
The next volume will be very lengthy, and the map will shift to the human civilization’s jewel—Saint Nali. Unlike the first volume with only a few dragon girls, there will be many interesting characters and factions, featuring three main female characters, including Renee, and a plethora of male supporting characters.
The forces behind Feilon, the background of that big-eyed figure, the foundations and wisdom of humanity, the education and politics of Saint Nali, the Four Great Pirates, and the subhuman ecology in the ocean will all be fully revealed to you.
In summary,
Everyone, please continue to adventure with Fisher.
