Chapter 626: 104. Death Trinity
The hazy steam gradually spreads, turning last night’s spring colors into a fleeting dream, becoming the summer foam before the sunlight arrives the next morning, dissolving into beautiful memories.
In the morning, when Fisher tangibly touched the soft, sleeping body beside him, a sense of satisfaction surged within him, even wishing that time would halt at this moment and not move forward.
But this is, after all, just a wish, a delusion.
He had awoken early and appeared energized, showing no signs of consumed fatigue, instead displaying an expression of growing courage.
The morning outside was as quiet as the night before, but in his peripheral vision, the illusory crimson in the sky had become increasingly intense, gradually enveloping this corner of the sky, allowing a glimpse of the real situation within the spirit realm.
The collapse of the crevice continued, and the progression of the Apocalypse Prophecy had not yet been resolved; it was time for him to continue his journey.
“.”
He opened his mouth, slowly sitting up, turning to look at the flowing red and blue hair in his palms and the two women curled up in the bedding not far from him, feeling somewhat emotional.
Perhaps before last night, he could not have imagined what kind of good life Keken, his junior at the Royal Academy, was leading in private.
The corners of his mouth curled slightly as he did not disturb the still-sleeping Jasmine and Raphael, then he got out of bed to change clothes, intending to officially address the previously mentioned challenges.
Going to Nali was inevitable, but before that, there were some lingering matters to resolve within the Dragon Court, which was the reason for his stay here.
He was still wearing the angelic robe that Hela had given him, quietly leaving Raphael’s room to retrieve the Completion Manual left by Holland, preparing to return to his own room to read the Death Completion Manual.
Upon opening the door to his room, he saw Emhart lying on his bed, feeling bored, and upon seeing Fisher return, he yawned and commented,
“Hmm, let me guess where you rested last night. It must have been at Raphael’s place, right?”
“Right, and wrong.”
“What do you mean?” Emhart floated up, puzzled, “Could it be that you pretended to go to Raphael but actually went to Jasmine?”
“Right, and wrong.”
“?”
“It’s just as you thought.”
“.”
Emhart was left speechless, shocked as if he had turned into a real book lying on the bed.
Fisher allowed him to digest this, sitting down at the table and first taking out the Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans that he had in his arms and placing it on the table. With the surge of illusory golden light, a series of texts appeared before his eyes.
[Multi-race composite research has been completed. Your chosen research project is: Biological Research]
[You have obtained sufficient biological research progress on the ‘Dragon Race’ and ‘Whale Folk’, congratulations]
[Unlock reward: Chinese translation permission, otherworldly language recognition permission; the first part of the seventeenth rank conditions has been completed]
[Contributor’s note: The language I use is called ‘Chinese’, from another world; it carries all my emotions and secrets over the long years, and now all the traces I leave in this world are completely open to you. You can use the Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans to translate these unfamiliar texts, and non-Chinese texts will elucidate their names and origins; by the way, if you want, you can also learn my language.]
As the golden light flickered, numerous square-shaped texts surged into the Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans, as if bestowing it with the ability to discern languages.
“.”
Fisher was silent for a moment, looking at what seemed to be an unusual reward and contemplating its usefulness.
Next, he would go to the place where Subhuman Girl Enthusiast left items in Nali; there should also be many texts she personally wrote, which could be identified through this method.
Additionally, if he encountered writings left by other Trans individuals, he could likewise determine the name of that language through the Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans, which was quite convenient.
By the way, he remembered seeing Subhuman Girl Enthusiast’s notes somewhere when Renee came to find him, on the night they went to the Tree Continent ruins together.
Fisher decided to put this into practice immediately. He opened the last blank page of the Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans and then picked up a pen from the desk to write above.
Soon, some crooked otherworldly block letters flowed from Fisher’s hand onto the paper, and simultaneously, a line of small text as the translation in Nali appeared below, stating:
“People say that the responsibility of the elves is a priceless treasure for the Duke of Peach without a second thought; but I say that the Duke of Peach is an unparalleled treasure for this precarious world.”
“People say that when Elder Peach dies, the demise of the elves is already destined; but I say that when the elves perish, the fate of Peach is just beginning.”
“There is still a peach blossom blooming deep within the buried ice and snow; one day, when the ice and snow clears, it will blossom in the memories of living beings, fulfilling the mission it did not complete in life.”
It seems to be a memorial from the Subhuman Girl Enthusiast for the Duke of Peach after the elves’ extinction, but there seem to be two points of doubt within, and Fisher puzzled over their meaning.
Firstly, in the last sentence, he was unsure if the Subhuman Girl Enthusiast was implying that the Duke of Peach had not died because, in the second sentence, she already indicated that the Duke was dead. As for the so-called “peach blossom blooming deep within the buried ice and snow,” there were too many things it could refer to.
It could be some relic left by the Duke of Peach or certain traces recording the Duke’s deeds, which might help some beings reading those stories complete certain tasks.
The second doubt is found in the first sentence, where the Subhuman Girl Enthusiast describes the Duke of Peach as a “treasure.” Having read the Life Completion Manual, he was now somewhat sensitive to this term and was unsure whether the Subhuman Girl Enthusiast was merely offering normal praise or if it had deeper meaning.
He frowned and contemplated for a moment but felt that his suspicions weren’t without reason, as the Duke of Peach had last read the Life Completion Manual and obtained a lot of life chaos, entering into the stage of a mad demigod, continually protecting the Elf Race during the myth war.
If the Subhuman Girl Enthusiast understood the relationship between the Duke of Peach and the Life Completion Manual, then this reference should not be coincidental, which also meant that there were clues to the treasure on the Duke, and that the clue of the “last peach blossom” might be in the Northern Region—after all, “buried deep within the ice and snow” resembles the description of the Northern Region better.
Fisher let out a breath, feeling a joy at finding a new clue.
The key was that if the treasure clue was related to the Northern Region, he could even avoid going there himself, as he still had Valentina and the slime as resources, allowing him to save much effort when going to Nali and focus on handling the issues with Elizabeth and Nali.
It seemed that this function of the Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans was not entirely useless.
He quickly set down the Handbook, looking at the cargo ship belonging to Keken docked outside the window, wishing he could right now have the slimes help search for clues related to “Duke of Peach” and “treasure.”
Meanwhile, behind him, Emhart, who had been lying around half the day, looked at him gazing out at the ship and reminded him,
“We’re leaving the day after tomorrow; shouldn’t you return to the Demon Dynasty for a visit before you leave?”
Fisher raised an eyebrow, turning back to look at him suspiciously and asked, “Have you completely lost it? You actually suggested I go say goodbye to Hela before leaving?”
“Who said you should go say goodbye to her?! Pfft, pfft, pfft!”
Hearing this, Emhart quickly flew up to rebut,
“I want you to check on her situation, best to ensure that she is truly, one hundred percent certainly sealed within the Demon Dynasty! I don’t want her pretending to be sealed, and then when we go to Nali, encounter some strange things and can’t suspect her because of her sealed status!! If later I say ‘it’s all Baemon’s fault,’ are you going to claim I’m paranoid again!?”
“When did I say you were paranoid?”
“You clearly thought that way all along! If you don’t suffer a bit from Baemon, you’ll never know how powerful she is, being toyed around like a marionette and still thanking her!”
As Fisher silently committed the translated Chinese from the Handbook to memory, he took out the Death Completion Manual, which was what he needed to read now. He simply shook his head and said,
“Before I leave, I will return to the Demon Dynasty for a bit. I do need to say goodbye to Eil and Hela, but at the same time, I will confirm Hela’s status. Now that her plan has failed and destruction has begun, only the path I chose can be followed.”
“Right, that’s how it should be. It’s best to be completely sure she won’t come out again. I really don’t want to suspect anyone in Nali or whatnot could be Baemon. Oh my, the thought alone makes me shudder.”
Emhart murmured as he jumped onto Fisher’s shoulder.
Meanwhile, Fisher spread open the Death Completion Manual in his hand, and on the cover page, there was still a line of unfamiliar otherworldly text he did not recognize, but since it appeared in the Completion Manual, he could discern its specific meaning.
“This manual will teach you the secret of escaping death.”
When he began reading this book, Fisher realized that this was a Completion Manual with a very strong religious connotation because the contributor of this manual began by describing a very strange scene, using the realities from his own world as a narrative.
The author was a human named “Abraham,” and aside from this name and the numerous prayer phrases recorded in the text, Fisher found no other information about him, as the extensive writing primarily described his insights using various fables to convey the knowledge contained within.
Abraham spoke of life having three vague levels: animal, wisdom, and god.
The first level of animals is simple; they follow their instincts without ever being bathed in divine care. Such lives are the most numerous in the world; they are unwise animals, led and used by wise beings.
The second level of life, as its name suggests, possesses valuable wisdom. They have souls and can be educated by gods; they might not know much, but they can recognize and distinguish their surroundings.
The third level of life is higher than wisdom itself; the wisdom they possess is unimaginable, as is their power. Even if they share an end, they remain beyond the scope of comprehension by wisdom.
So, in this assumption, if the “life” of beings is layered, then does their “death” also have layers?
Yes, it does, but unlike the clearly delineated life, their deaths are different yet united.
As for the death of animals, it is subtle; when death descends, everything becomes ash, ceasing at that moment of death. As for the death of wisdom, it does not mean complete stillness due to their wisdom. Their souls are independent of death, allowing them to persist even after death.
As for the death of gods, it does not equate to death at all. Their wisdom is so powerful that it does not disappear or change, and their power is so substantial that death cannot extinguish it, perhaps even connecting back to their moment of birth—this is the highest form of death.
Though death differs, it still retains unity. Reading this Completion Manual is akin to pursuing the commonality among the three types of death, tracing back the distinctions and unities of these three deaths through one’s “wisdom” until they are integrated into one, becoming what Abraham ultimately refers to as the “Death Trinity,” also known as “Death Three-in-One.”
The pursuit of the highest tier of exploration involves various paths, and “death” is one of them.
When you finally achieve completeness and become the “Death Trinity,” it also means that you have fully accomplished the “death of the gods,” becoming an existence that never perishes.
At the level of “wisdom,” whether bending down to glimpse the “death of animals” or looking up to seek the “death of gods,” in a sense, both are irrational blasphemies; this pursuit inevitably becomes impure, causing the original death to twist and change in your quest for the ultimate “Death Trinity.”
Thus, the Death Completion Manual is divided into three parts, namely “Death of Animals,” “Death of Wisdom,” and “Death of Gods.”
Reading the first part requires the creation of numerous animal deaths to utterly grasp the demise below oneself.
Reading the second part necessitates causing numerous deaths of wisdom to overturn the original end.
Reading the third part demands witnessing the death of the gods to glimpse the truth behind the gods’ end.
Upon completely reading this Completion Manual, the “Death Trinity” will blossom within the reader’s body.
