Chapter 660: 138. Fate Lord
“Bang!”
The vibrations from the next room, even though minimized as much as possible, felt thunderous to Fisher’s ears. His actions of reading the completion manual paused momentarily, and then with a gentle motion of one hand, the book in his palm suddenly slammed shut with a “snap.”
He did not move but instead sensed the life chaos within him becoming more active after reading the related content. This made his Azanros embodiment feel extremely uncomfortable, causing it to writhe even more intensely.
“Glug glug.”
Outside the door, faint footsteps and conversation gradually approached, as if the visitors had wrapped up the situation next door.
“This side is ready; we dealt with the nuisances.”
“What’s going on next door? It seems there is still someone there?”
“Don’t know; we’ll find out.”
The door behind him slowly opened, revealing two men from the east side holding weapons. Their eyes scanned the room and spotted a little girl lying on the bed at the edge of a spacious room, along with a translucent “shadow” constantly writhing in front of the girl’s bed, and beside that shadow, a book with dead fish-like eyes looking at the newcomers?
“What is this thing?!”
“Clack!”
Fisher, holding the completion manual, sighed, while his mind was still digesting the chaotic knowledge flooding his spiritual world. Behind him, the two east side assassins raised their firearms.
But in the moment the weapons were raised, they suddenly realized that the weapons they were holding seemed to shrink from their grip in an instant. Following that, two massive bloody maws abruptly lunged from the translucent shadow, trying to pin them against the wall.
“Buzz buzz buzz!”
However, strange things happened quickly afterward.
In the next second, Fisher, who was only about ten meters from the wall, was suddenly pulled back countless times. The bloody maws he had shot out from behind extended continuously until, several seconds later, he finally realized something was off and effortlessly tossed the two men away.
As he threw out the two ordinary humans, who lost consciousness after flying nearly a hundred meters in a second, the size of the entire room returned to normal. Yet, the distance it took for Fisher to retract the bloody appendages from his body felt particularly lengthy.
Clearly, those appendages had only extended a few meters, but retracting them felt like running a marathon, with no end in sight.
Something was wrong.
Fisher’s expression became serious as he grabbed the writhing Azanros embodiment on him. The extended blood flesh became especially restless, surpassing mythical ranks and stretching with a pace that felt as if it were shackled by space.
It was as if his arm was stuck in a glass wall. When Fisher pulled with all his strength, the entire space of the room began to shatter, distorting like a canvas and revealing the chaotic forces hidden behind it.
They were ephemeral golden knots, resembling a mass of worms continuously drilling toward a center, forming one chaotic knot after another with such irregular motions.
However, Fisher could not see the exact nature of that power because the next second, the whole room returned to its natural state. Everything returned to normal except for the two unconscious east side assassins lying by the door.
“Didn’t expect to find you here.”
“Fisher, ghost! A ghost!”
But in the next second, a ghostly voice came from behind, sending chills down Fisher’s spine. Without even turning back, his arm transformed into a scythe-like blade, slicing backwards and cutting through the wall, producing a harsh “crack” sound.
But this strike missed; Fisher sensed nothing except for the hit on the wall.
Only then did he turn around at Emhart’s cry, and he saw a beautiful eyeball floating in midair, staring at him.
The eyeball scanned Fisher up and down before letting out a somewhat familiar yet strange feminine voice,
“It seems the progress regarding your fate is quite good. I’ve seen the azure arc, bringing the deep scent of tulips.”
“What?”
“Hey! Do you know you almost cut me?! You idiot!”
At the same time, another voice echoed from behind, sounding like the first one but less friendly in tone.
“Fisher! It’s a mouth!”
Fisher raised an eyebrow and looked behind. Sure enough, a nagging pair of red lips floated in midair, although they didn’t return to her face. The Fate Lord, only revealing her eyes, glanced up at the lips above her and said,
“It should return to the rightful star path. Why persist in wandering?”
“Heh heh, if I go back, no one would understand your words, little fool. He’s still here, just hidden by some means. The ugly book beside him is still in place.”
“You jerk, who are you calling ugly?”
Fisher remained silent for a moment, noticing that the Azanros embodiment on him was about to fully calm and return to its complete blessing. He reached out to slightly lift the still-visible tentacle that had yet to entirely disappear, causing the wrapped blessing to recede a bit like before.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t comprehend the language spoken by the Subhuman Girl Enthusiast, so he could only resort to this clumsy method.
“Glug glug~”
Ignoring the protests from the Azanros embodiment, Fisher raised his head to look at the Fate Lord before him and asked,
“Earlier, regarding Holland, it seems there was no contact with you, but you should know now that the Death Completion Manual is also in my hands. However, since you don’t know I’m here, what brings you to this place?”
“To correct the corrosion of rust and revise the natural trajectories.”
“?”
The words spoken by the “eye” carried a beauty that ignored the lives of others, no wonder Holland said that other organs of Fate Lord speak in riddles; Fisher couldn’t comprehend what the eye was trying to convey.
So he turned to the somewhat nagging but at least understandable “lips” overhead and said,
“Hmph. You’ve done well on the Southern Continent, managing to eliminate one of the most troublesome chaotic deities. But this also led other beings to start invading this world through means outside the completion manual. I’m here to deal with these extraneous methods.”
“. So you’re here for Alicia?”
“Exactly. I’m here to kill this little girl.”
The lips biting the red cord expressed no trace of pity, as if discussing killing a mere bug.
However, the now humanoid “eye” lowered its head with a hint of sympathy and clasped its hands, saying,
“The Holy Lord shall deliver punishment, casting cruelty and fault into time, preserving them within the heart.”
“. Then I suppose your trip here is in vain; I can handle Alicia’s matter. I’m capable of fully reading through the Life Completion Manual; all I need to do is change the nature of the treasure on her to sever her connection with foreign gods.”
“Blessed, yet as rivers enter the sea, what difference is there between emptiness and uselessness?”
“.”
Not understanding, Fisher turned his gaze to the smirking lips above her head. To his surprise, they remained silent, leaving him to ask.
He looked towards the two east side assassins lying down and queried,
“These east side assassins were brought in by you, right? Otherwise, these foreigners wouldn’t be able to secretly enter Nali from afar and bypass so much defense here. Why did you let them in? Don’t say it’s for personal reasons.”
“Denied.”
This time, the eye’s response was exceptionally brief, and Fisher understood what she meant, while the smile on the lips above turned increasingly restrained, finally morphing into a cold grin.
“I’ve already stated, I’m here to resolve extraneous methods. There’s more than one completion manual; there’s more than one chaotic foreign deity invading. Can’t you realize that forsaking the completion manual and establishing different pathways means there’s more than one being who has been ‘usurped’?”
Fisher paused for a moment, and his expression grew ever more serious.
He quickly comprehended something, his brows tightly knit,
“Wait a minute, are you saying…”
“There’s not just Him; there’s also ‘The Unclean End’ and ‘The Chaotic Guidance’ whose locations are clearly defined within the completion manual. So, my coming here isn’t solely for this little girl; the coincidence of two targets colliding at this time and place is just fortunate. Your wife, Elizabeth Godlin, is currently pregnant with another ‘Death Trinity’ outside of the Death Completion Manual.”
Death Trinity
Right, he almost forgot the three steps to nurturing a “Death Trinity” as outlined in the Death Completion Manual.
Step one, witness the deaths of a large number of “animals,” step two, witness the deaths of a multitude of “intellects,” until finally, step three, witness what is termed the “death of deities,” before one can forge the “Death Trinity.”
He suddenly recalled her mysteriously vanished pet dogs and thought of the wars she had manipulated outside Nali over the years; thus, her progress became clear.
But how could that be?
Alicia had residual life chaos, which was understandable since she was the successful creation of Erwind’s experiment, directly linked to the Chaotic Being.
But what about Elizabeth?
When had she directly encountered death chaos?
Fisher’s expression suddenly froze as a pair of hollow golden eyes flashed through his mind.
His lips trembled slightly, and then, gritting his teeth, he uttered that term, that possible clue,
“Pandora’s Eye.”
