Chapter 69: Tease
On the deck, Captain Alagina leaned on the railing, gazing silently at the vast ocean after searching the area without finding anything.
She had not found her belongings on this ship.
The lost item was her father’s final relic, a necklace meant as a token for her future husband, embedded with a deep blue ice crystal, intricately crafted.
Although the price of ice crystals had significantly dropped recently due to the Sardinia Kingdom discovering many ice crystal mineral reserves, this necklace was personally made by her father and was extremely precious to her.
Could that thief have fallen into the ocean?
She gazed into the depths of the azure sea ahead, as if hoping to discover something beneath the water’s surface, but the prolonged silence created immense pressure for others, especially for the captain and the fat first mate of the Lauren cruise ship, fearing that this silent, cold woman might suddenly order the slaughter of everyone on board.
“Captain, should we continue searching in this direction?”
The fat first mate knew how precious the necklace was to the captain, who usually wouldn’t even wear it and kept it hanging above her bedroom’s bed. Who would have thought someone could silently board her ship out here on the ocean?
Captain Alagina fell silent for a second but shook her head.
“No need. Change the course. We have a mission to complete.”
“Yes!” The fat first mate responded, waving to the nearby female pirates, “Let’s go, everyone on board!”
“Yes!”
As the pirates grasped the chain linking to the deck and climbed aboard the enormous Iceberg Queen, Alagina took one last look at the cruise ship, seemingly reminded of the man she had just seen.
Unfortunately, he was already married.
She shook her head to dismiss the thought, gently pulled the last iron chain, and was pulled back to her own ship.
“Vroom vroom”
The ship’s engine roared, the deep green Iceberg Queen slowly detached from the Lauren and headed in a different direction.
At the bow, Alagina, clad in black leather and holding a sea chart, pointed in a direction, commanding the ship to proceed.
If someone familiar with geography looked closely, they would notice the Iceberg Queen was heading in a direction directly opposite to that of the Lauren, with its destination being the distant Southern Continent.
The fat first mate rubbed his hands together and approached Alagina, gazing at his captain with confusion.
“Captain, what exactly is our job? You can tell us now, right? We’re going from the North Ocean to the South Ocean, such a long distance, and we’re getting so much gold for this?”
Alagina remained silent for a second before calmly responding.
“A client only wants to know the cause of death of a city lord named Feilon in the Southern Continent. Once we get the information there, we can return.”
“That’s it? I thought we would fight with the local city lord at sea or something. Just going to check the situation to get this much gold? Has the current clientele taken a liking to charity?”
Alagina didn’t respond but unfolded a small leather scroll from her pocket, revealing a map of the Southern Continent. A red circle had been drawn on the map, marking the location of Feilon City in the northern part of the continent.
The group of ruthless pirates seemed like a minor interlude; when the giant Iceberg Queen disappeared from the sight of the captain of the Lauren, he finally sighed in relief and told the engine room below to proceed.
Meanwhile, in the cabin room of Fisher, Renee held her chest, her eyes filled with sadness. Her violet eyes gazed at the pearls displayed on the table, as if she had seen proof of infidelity. She wiped away nonexistent tears from her eyes sorrowfully and said,
“Wuwu, my husband, my husband would accept gifts from other women.”
Clearly, she had overheard the conversation between Fisher and Alagina earlier. When Fisher returned, she grabbed a pearl and kept asking him about it, like a wronged wife feeling betrayed.
Yet, that feeling of grievance lasted no more than three seconds before she couldn’t suppress the laughter bubbling up inside her, bursting into uncontrollable laughter while holding her stomach.
“Hahaha, Fisher, you actually got teased by a woman!!”
Fisher’s face darkened, Renee’s laughter in the room was like a demonic sound from hell, and he grabbed her ankle amidst her startled cries and pulled her from mid-air, causing her to land softly on the nearby sofa.
With no chance for her to catch her breath, Fisher suddenly leaned over, gripping her left forearm with his right hand and her shoulder with his left. Their positions were too dangerous, and he could smell her alluring fragrance with every breath.
His gaze darkened significantly as he looked down to meet her mischievous smile.
Renee’s left hand gently brushed against his cheek, sending a tingling sensation through his skin. She enjoyed teasing Fisher, as if it brought her endless joy. Even when he got frustrated and grabbed her to restrain her, she remained calm.
She moved closer instead, hooking her fingers onto Fisher’s shirt, her face close to his, exhaling a sweet scent.
“Ah, bad boy, what do you want to do to me? Let me guess.”
“…”
Fisher bit a strand of her black hair, and although his opinion of Renee was extremely poor, he couldn’t deny that she was indeed a stunningly seductive woman, like the most intoxicating wine in the world, impossible to resist.
“You want to kiss me, right?”
Her finger traced over his Adam’s apple, seemingly innocently guessing, unaware that the man before her was on the verge of exploding.
“Renee, stop it.”
“But you don’t want to let me go at all.”
She showed no intention of heeding Fisher’s warning, her fingers trailing down his shirt. That sudden movement lit a spark in Fisher, but when he lowered his head to pursue, he suddenly grasped at empty air. The delicate woman in his embrace instantly dissipated like starlight, and when she reappeared, she was already sitting on the nearby table, holding the paper Fisher had just written.
Renee’s face flushed a gentle pink, and Fisher was tempted to taste the lipstick on her lips.
She waved the manuscript in her hand, pointing at her lips adorned with lipstick at Fisher.
“Do you want the paper, or do you want me?”
“…”
Fisher quietly reached out toward her, meeting her expectant gaze, seeming ready to grab Renee’s skin at any moment, but just before touching her, he snatched the paper from her hand, retrieving his manuscript.
“I want the paper.”
Fisher replied calmly, causing Renee, sitting on the table, to blink in surprise before puffing out her cheeks in anger and floating back to her room, clearly unwilling to engage with Fisher.
Fisher exhaled a breath of hot air, adjusted his slightly disheveled shirt, and sat back down on the edge of the bed.
His choice hadn’t been wrong, for with Renee’s extremely mischievous personality, even if he chose her, she would never allow him to make any moves. She just enjoyed teasing Fisher, wanting to see him desire her but not be able to have her, increasing his craving for her.
Fisher had long seen through this girl’s intentions; he wouldn’t give in to her whims. But he had to admit that he had indeed lost control earlier, as there was a moment when he genuinely wanted to dominate Renee.
That girl
Actually likes black, huh?
For some reason, Fisher thought this suddenly, and then he smirked and patted his head, dismissing this inappropriate thought from his mind.
Indeed, traveling with Renee was nothing short of torture, comparable to a form of torment. Once they returned to Saint Nali, he would find an excuse to get rid of her.
Outside the window, the setting sun cast reflections on the sea, and the multitude of Hart Birds on the railing spread their beautiful wings, chirping away at Fisher, who was drinking coffee inside. However, like their master, Fisher simply ignored them, expressionless.
He glanced at the pearl on the table, picked it up to feel its weight, and noted its large size, which was rare among pearls. Thanks to the female captain’s generosity, giving such an expensive gift upon their first meeting.
Fisher hesitated for a moment but didn’t put it away, instead placing it on the room’s table.
Please follow, read, and vote; it’s very important to me. Thank you, everyone!
