Final Remarks
Hello everyone, I am Yi Weixie.
So far, the second to last part of the story in “Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans” has been completely written, and only the final, not too lengthy sixth volume remains. In fact, at this moment, almost all mysteries have been revealed. With Fisher finally grasping Elizabeth’s hand and saving her once, the conclusion of this story is already in sight.
Let’s follow the convention of past final remarks and divide it into two parts: one concerning the creative aspects of this volume, and the other about the next volume.
This volume touches on the content of each female lead, and the difference between the main characters and supporting characters is revealed at this moment. Inevitably, I could only briefly write about parts like Eil and Captain Alagina, while the reunion after four and a half years shows that although each female lead has changed, what has really changed is a bit of responsibility.
The female leads still have their content in the sixth volume, so we can talk more about them later. As for Elizabeth, I believe everyone can see that after going through countless events, she will eventually meet her final ending.
The theme of this volume, “Fisher’s Apocalypse Prophecy,” has become quite clear. As the protagonist, Fisher strives to save this world and everyone in it. Since the first volume, he has embarked on this journey guided by the Apocalypse Prophecy in “Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans.” Along the way, he saved Raphael, inspired Jasmine and Tang Zeming Asuka, and helped Valentina recover.
In fact, this journey has not been smooth; one could say that Fisher himself is not the invincible warrior of legend and often suffers setbacks in battles. However, even so, he actively goes out to save and help any lady he knows, perhaps because of greed, perhaps because of kindness, or whatever the reason.
But from the past until the end of the fifth volume, the only one he could not save was Elizabeth.
His love for Elizabeth is a tragedy, but both Elizabeth and Fisher still love each other deeply.
During the final battle, many readers were puzzled. Clearly, the situation had not yet reached its worst, clearly, she still had a nineteenth-ranked angel phantasm by her side, so why did she surrender and give up her eye of judgment? Didn’t that destroy her character?
In fact, whatever Elizabeth does, whatever she plans, at the fundamental logic level, there is always the name “Fisher.”
In the second volume, she calculated every detail until the last moment but let him go out of weakness because of Fisher. This is entirely illogical; it’s all because Fisher is one of her few weak points in this world. So when the outer gods want to take Fisher away, she has already lost, completely lost, because she cannot accept Fisher being taken away.
All along, Elizabeth has been struggling against fate. She thought that through her own efforts and schemes, she could win everything back to the beautiful past with Fisher.
Fisher feels the same. Every time she makes a mistake, he is unwilling to let go and is willing to bear it with her.
When I divided the final battle into two battlefields, it was actually quite meaningful. Through this gap, neither Fisher nor Elizabeth knows the other’s true thoughts and believes that the other has given up on them. Yet, when they recognize that the other is in danger, they seek to save each other selflessly and quietly.
This sense of clearly loving each other yet hurting one another is a tragedy. But honestly, I don’t mean to stab anyone. I am not Fisher or Elizabeth’s enemy; I also look forward to them reaching a good ending after their setbacks.
The title of the last chapter of this volume is an English word, “refrain,” meaning “restraint.”
In my view, “restraint” is the curse that causes the tragedy between Fisher and Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Godlin’s love is too stubborn and too persistent, lacking an understanding of restraint.
Countless heavenly gifts have presented opportunities for them to reconcile, but she has destroyed them through careless mistakes. Only Fisher, and Elizabeth who has lost him, resorts to any means to win for her own purposes, only to end up pushing him further away and hurting each other more deeply.
In contrast, Fisher Benavides’s love is too restrained.
You may have seen since the first volume how he is ruthless toward Raphael, Jasmine, and other ladies, yet he is so cautious and polite toward Elizabeth, joking that it is all because Elizabeth is human. However, that’s not the case.
Fisher has indeed changed and become more proactive, yet he still shrinks in front of the fiery Elizabeth.
When he returned from the Southern Continent in the second volume, he was unable to send a letter. Facing Elizabeth’s pursuers in the Northern Region, he pinched Valentina’s shoulder to provoke Elizabeth, and in the fourth volume, he had Trandal take Elizabeth to see the letter he left, but he didn’t dare to deliver it himself to explain the situation.
Every volume where I write about Elizabeth, I hint at Fisher’s reluctance; he has merely been avoiding and retreating, waiting for Elizabeth to give in. And just as I said, Elizabeth does not understand restraint; she only keeps pressing forward, creating an apparently irreconcilable conflict.
But in truth, for two people who love each other deeply, the exit from the labyrinth of conflict is clearly in front of them, yet they are like headless flies, unable to leave.
Clearly, if Elizabeth would take a step back and Fisher would take a step forward, they could come together. Yet throughout the story, Fisher has been retreating while Elizabeth presses forward, which tortures them even more.
At the end of this volume’s story, Elizabeth, forced by reality and fate, retreats, her heart turning to ashes, until she retreats into death, while Fisher finally takes that step forward. He realizes he has made a mistake and regrets his actions, so he actively moves forward, continually chasing to grasp the retreating Elizabeth, finally holding each other tightly.
A woman who does not understand restraint chooses restraint before the safety of her lover, surrendering to fate; a man who is too restrained and greedy finally chooses to question himself, choosing to express his feelings for her at all costs.
The true Apocalypse Prophecy has not yet ended; it is just that at this moment, when he grasps Elizabeth, the unique “Fisher’s Apocalypse Prophecy” is actually resolved, and this is the essence of this volume.
As stated in the preface, all the gifts of fate are tagged with a price; at this moment, he finally faces all the debts he owes to settle them.
In the next volume, as the conclusion of the entire story, there isn’t much content left.
Too many secrets have already been revealed, and perhaps there are still a few things that have not been fully written.
In fact, I have left some foreshadowing regarding the final battle, and I haven’t completely explained the outcome of the battlefield. I just feel that it is most suitable for the fifth volume to end when Fisher grasps Elizabeth’s hand.
I remember saying at the end of the second volume that “there will be a separate introduction to Jasmine’s character,” yet it seems that even at the end of the last chapter there hasn’t been a dedicated piece about her. However, this promise has already been fulfilled.
I want to say that the content of the sixth volume mainly revolves around Jasmine and Renee, and the other main and supporting female characters will also have significant roles.
At this moment, after defending against the shattered crevice, there are still several obstacles regarding destruction in front of the precarious world and the female leads with Fisher, namely the missing Mechanism Supplement Handbook representing the outer gods, the Dream residing within Asuka, and
uh, the final heavyweight contender, the Ocean.
As for the rest of the content, such as the past of the gods and this world, the situation of the outer realms, the past of the Mother and Asuka, Michael, Mikhail, Subhuman Girl Enthusiast, Gouwen, the Chaos Race, the Sea of Souls, and so on—all the contents that appeared numerous times in the past volumes will find answers in the sixth volume.
Next, I will take a day off and then update several bonus chapters like the last volume to supplement the missing content, updating once a day, as a rest from the continuous updates over the past few days.
Their content will focus on “Elizabeth,” “Raphael and Jasmine,” “Valentina and Captain Alagina.”
Except for Elizabeth’s content, all of it will be enjoyable moments, romantic scenes, and sweet interactions, serving as a supplement to the main text.
Ah, you ask why there won’t be any sweet moments for Elizabeth?
Well, there will be, in the special bonus chapter dedicated to her in the grand finale.
After completing these three bonus chapters, the entire book will welcome its final volume,
“The Epitaph of the World.”
