Chapter 713: Invitation Letter
Fisher slowly put down the walkie-talkie in his hand, and at that moment, Renee also drifted over, squinting at him with a judgmental expression that made Fisher feel a bit uncomfortable.
“Stare~~”
Fisher blinked and then crossed over to look at the content that David had brought up on the display screen. Renee floated beside him like a ghost, hands behind her back, and spoke towards a direction where Fisher wasn’t,
“Hey, it seems they are getting along quite well after not seeing each other for a long time; they can even answer your calls together now.”
“Getting along?”
Fisher chuckled as if he had heard a joke. Honestly, the conversation on the other end of the phone sounded like a turbulent undercurrent to him. Just by hearing Jasmine’s quiet reminder to Raphael and Duke of Peach’s words, he could see some clues.
“How did you figure that out?”
They had just recently partnered up to defeat Elizabeth, so they could be considered “comrades” for now; there shouldn’t be too obvious a sense of confrontation. However, Fisher could still clearly sense a slight resistance among them, grouped as factions, but the level was very mild and considered normal.
Objectively speaking, Elizabeth’s assistance to Fisher in this matter was indeed considerable.
Of course, Fisher had never thought of Elizabeth’s role in that way, even if it was true objectively. After hanging up the phone a moment ago, he had already known she was awake; she just didn’t want to answer his call.
He would talk about it when he got back.
At this, Renee covered her mouth and giggled mischievously. She silently floated behind Fisher and struck a pose, sensing the sudden sweet fragrance that approached. Fisher was about to turn his head when a slender, pale finger pointed at his cheek, preventing him from doing so. He could only hear Renee’s voice coming,
“Hmph. What about that Dragon Race kid? When did that happen?”
“Ah, I thought you knew.”
Renee pouted, listening to Fisher’s seemingly surprised response and pointed at herself, asking,
“Why would I know?”
Fisher didn’t turn around and walked towards the display screen and David’s direction while answering,
“Aren’t you always watching?”
“Not always, just occasionally.” As Renee spoke, she seemed to realize something, her face turned slightly red, and her eyelids twitched. “You don’t think I would spy on those bed curtains, do you?”
“Ah, didn’t you?”
“Of course, I didn’t!”
Renee’s face turned even redder as she squeezed his shoulder and shook him, her eyes full of disbelief,
“Besides, even if I did peek, how would I confirm if she had children?! It’s not like I was there at that time!”
“What are you talking about?”
Fisher could guess that Renee probably wouldn’t go snooping around like that. After all, just thinking about her usual timid demeanor — running and hiding the moment an attack is initiated — it didn’t seem like someone who frequently kept an eye on those things.
People who actually saw a lot would just smile knowingly; everything was unsaid.
Just like those who shared emotional experiences with friends in the Nali tavern, the ones bragging about their romantic exploits were generally newbs, those who hadn’t even had one or two intimate relationships; instead, the silent and relaxed gentlemen, who concealed their youthful innocence, were most likely the real players.
Seeing Fisher still pretend to know nothing, Renee pinched her fist and snatched the walkie-talkie from his hand with a dangerous smile,
“Ah, weren’t you just saying something to Princess Isabel on the phone about talking to that lady captain? How could you forget so quickly? You might as well call Captain Alagina to remind her.”
“I’m sorry.”
Fisher helplessly surrendered and laid out everything about Raphael.
Mainly, it was because he had just reunited with Raphael after a long separation, and the Dragon Race’s desire for a Suitable Tail Partner was unimaginably immense for a human. One could imagine that a normal human would find it difficult to truly establish a Suitable Tail Partnership with a Dragon Race, regardless of gender; otherwise, there was a high likelihood of ending up as a dried corpse.
But Raphael was undoubtedly lucky; after five years of longing, and with Fisher being an everlasting engine in bed, it was like gasoline meeting a fierce fire, simply unceasing.
Then, she was hit.
“Oh, so that’s how it is. I’ve gathered the rough situation… no, maybe you’ve gone a bit too into detail.”
Renee’s mouth slightly opened, her cherry-colored face lowering a bit, she then rubbed her temples and said,
“But that Raphael is already of Mythical Rank. Even if she has children inside her, I’m afraid—”
“Yeah, so I have to go to the Sea of Souls and find two strands of pure souls for her.”
“Two strands? Is there anyone else I’m not aware of?”
Fisher shook his head and explained,
“Just Raphael.”
Renee crossed her arms and listened to him continue,
“However, according to the Dragon Race’s detection regarding embryos, it appears there’s a pair of twins inside.”
“Twins, huh…”
Suddenly, there was no sound behind him, making Fisher want to turn around, but again, a pale finger was pressed against his cheek, stopping his movement.
“Uh-huh, is there anything else I don’t know during this time?”
“How would I know what you know? But I should be out of news.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
“…”
Suddenly, it quieted down behind him. Just as Fisher was about to reach the previous surveillance room, he suddenly felt a fragrance rush close, followed by a warm breeze brushing against his earlobe. Renee’s voice, like a whisper, slowly echoed,
“Have you thought about having a little baby with me?”
That fragrant question caused ripples throughout Fisher’s body, and his breath hitched slightly, feeling as if a heat was piercing through his chest. He hurriedly turned to look at Renee, but what greeted him was a smack to the head.
“Thud!”
Fisher’s head tilted back slightly as he looked at her slowly descending in front of him with a mischievous smile,
“Looks like someone really wants it~”
“Renee, come here, I have something important to tell you.”
“I won’t!”
Renee flicked her hair and floated up again, saying to Fisher,
“Who told me I was jealous just now? You said it yourself, you can tolerate my jealousy.”
That was true, but which deity gets hit just because they got jealous?
Seeing Fisher helplessly blink while still looking at her, Renee was a bit taken aback and blushed as she said,
“Well, even if you want to, I can’t; don’t forget, what you’re seeing now is just the incarnation of my consciousness. As for my true form… um… you probably wouldn’t want to see it.”
“I do.”
“No, you don’t.”
“…”
Renee thought for a moment in her mind, and then decisively crossed her arms, looking as if to say “not happening,” clearly thinking that Fisher wouldn’t be able to accept her true form.
“And besides, isn’t it good like this? Although we can’t do that kind of thing.”
“Why?”
“.Just a guess, because the incarnation is controlled by my consciousness, and if my consciousness relaxes, the incarnation will disappear. The last time we kissed, it already started to fade a bit; I just didn’t tell you.”
Fisher blinked slightly, looking at Renee’s shy demeanor that was about to say something. He imagined a possible scenario where she was just about to start, or was still preparing, or was on the verge of it, but then she disappeared due to shyness or some other reason, leaving Fisher alone staring blankly in place.
Thinking of it this way, it was indeed a bit troublesome.
“Okay.”
Fisher pondered for a moment and could only respond this way.
However, even so, the more Renee didn’t want him to see, the more curious he became about her true form.
It wasn’t entirely for that purpose; he wasn’t desperate, nor did he think that Renee’s modesty was wrong. He didn’t necessarily want to press further; mainly, he was genuinely curious about his beloved’s true appearance.
Moreover, Fisher vaguely sensed something terrifying: the difference in Renee’s concepts.
What did that mean? It meant Fisher realized: she might not actually care about the fact that Raphael had children!
Fisher quickly understood that for someone like Renee, whose consciousness was born with authority, her true form and authority would definitely determine her pattern of thinking.
Even if, as Ramastia said, her consciousness was still too young and immature; she still possessed True God-level power, and there was a high probability her true form’s structure and model differed from the other beings constrained by “human consciousness” of the Sea of Souls, likely even lacking awareness of the concept of reproduction.
She was neither human nor a sorceress but a being whose true form was non-human!
This meant that after observing reality, even if she understood the significance of reproduction to other beings, she merely knew of it.
Perhaps in Renee’s view, the important part wasn’t having children itself, but rather the fact that “Fisher did something important with someone else,” which led to “jealousy.”
To put it more concretely, for Renee, “Fisher had children with other women, so I’m jealous,” was to a degree equivalent to “Fisher was to meet Alagina, but this moment was supposed to be mine, so I’m jealous.”
It might even be that her reaction now wasn’t as intense as the last time, due to their previous open conversation?
Fisher blinked, watching Renee floating in the air, unsure whether to feel fortunate or anxious.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, let me find the information up top, and then after some adjustments, we can rendezvous with Gouwen.”
“Alright.”
Fisher rubbed his temples, looking into Renee’s purple eyes, and he once again realized how little he truly knew about her.
He certainly sensed this before, but this time, it went beyond the most basic humanoid knowledge.
Seeing that Fisher wasn’t even making calls now, Renee scanned her surroundings out of boredom. The content above was genuinely dull to her; perhaps, compared to Fisher’s current thirst for knowledge, it felt just as tedious as when he used to sit at a wooden table writing papers.
It was easy to imagine that the earlier studies of zero-rank humans would fail to catch her interest.
“Beep beep. Beep beep beep beep.”
But not long after, the display screen in front of Fisher suddenly flickered, and soon the entire shelter echoed with a prompt-like electronic sound.
Renee curiously got up to look around and asked Fisher,
“What’s going on here? Is something happening?”
Fisher looked back for David, who had been away a bit too long after the phone call, and seemed to have gone towards the dock. With the sound of the prompts, he hurriedly flew back to Fisher and said,
“Mr. Fisher, this is a prompt that the shelter has received a mechanism signal. I set it up as an all-shelter notification, worried I might miss messages from Mom and Dad sometimes.”
“Prompt?”
“Exactly, Mr. Fisher just needs to close the database page, and he should be able to see it.”
Fisher turned around, preparing to close the reading database interface, but just as he suddenly turned his head, he caught sight of a corner of the vast database filled with files, where one of them said,
“Mother”
He paused slightly, and the action he was about to take abruptly shifted; instead, he clicked the “minimize” button next to it, revealing the main page that had received a “message.”
At this moment, Renee also came to his side, looking up at the screen,
And there, the flashing bright screen displayed a message along with a shared coordinate.
The shared coordinate matched the one that Hamon Hamon had shared with Fisher and Gouwen, which was said to be the deity’s stronghold. As for the message:
“To all beings in the Spirit Realm, whether you were once my enemy or another, I hope you all receive this message.
“This is an invitation letter. I sincerely invite all conscious beings who receive this message to come to my current residence, the former angel’s sanctuary. Here, I am preparing a humble banquet with the angels, and many ‘stars’ have also settled here, so I cordially invite the rest of the beings to come, as I have matters that require your assistance.
“Of course, I will not accept your help without compensation. I will do my utmost to provide equivalent rewards.
“This includes, but is not limited to, my authority.”
