A Letter to Book Friends for the New Year
Hello, everyone, I am Yi Weixie.
A year has passed again, and it feels like time has accelerated since I started working. In the blink of an eye, the Year of the Rabbit has gone by, and the Year of the Dragon is before us once again.
I’ve gotten a year older (sigh).
Well, I just happened to have some free time now, so I casually wrote something to celebrate with the book friends who have accompanied this story, sending some wishes~
By the way, I’ll also talk about the remaining content of this book and some future matters, so that by the time we reach the end, there won’t be any repetitive content. Perhaps after the finale, it will come to a sudden stop until the next story reunion?
Hey, from this angle, it seems that I, like Renee, also dislike goodbyes.
Anyway, back to the point.
First of all, as of now, almost everything that can be written in this book has been written. The pits I’ve laid out and the foreshadowing have all been addressed, and the remaining conclusion is coming soon, no need to keep you all waiting too long.
I estimate it will be around March or April. When it ends, I’ll rapidly write the final chapters, and then each lady will get a dedicated extra chapter or something.
Looking back, this book has been written for about a year and a half, taking up most of my life outside of work.
Actually, every nighttime update isn’t timed content; I write until that time after finishing work. Sometimes, when I have a backlog, I may upload a little earlier…
But most of the time, my backlog is extremely sparse, and I can only write on-site for daily updates before midnight.
I still remember one day when I was writing and fell asleep on the keyboard. My forehead pressed against the keys, and I ended up filling the entire writing page with letters, leaving a row of imprints on my forehead.
Honestly, I do feel very tired, but this fatigue is more physical. Mentally, I’m steadily in a state of craziness, cough cough, but I’ve always maintained my passion for this story. I’ve always been passionate about creation.
I’ve actually been writing since a long time ago. Even back in school, I wrote everything, without being picky, and my appetite was particularly good.
Whether it’s normal pure love stories, tragic love, quick-transmission tales, rebirth stories, or later on, yaoi, yuri, gender-bending, and my first female dominance story written on Qidian, then onto the last one which was a multi-female protagonist daily story, finally leading to this current multi-female protagonist subculture story in an alternate world.
Well, I can write anything, I love writing and reading anything, and I can enjoy it wholeheartedly like an experienced driver. A driver starving for inspiration eventually grew the desire to produce content, which is actually the original intention of my creation.
Most of the time away from work and study, I rely on this to pass time for entertainment, that’s all.
Beginning to write on Qidian was like this too.
I remember when I first came to Qidian, I read some male-targeted works, found them interesting, and then excitedly came to Qidian to try writing, basically diving in without knowing anything.
I never thought about seeking validation or anything; I just wanted someone to read it, and I love writing. Just reading the readers’ reviews and feedback felt comforting.
As for subscriptions and results, I’ve always been content.
My first book was sporadically written with around 500,000 words, with a few hundred average subscriptions and dozens of chasing subscriptions. I thought, a few hundred people is about the same as a grade in high school, and dozens of people is like a class, right? A class from all over the place is reading what I’ve written every day?
It’s simply unbelievable.
The second book was a little longer, with an average of one thousand subscriptions and a few hundred chasing subscriptions, doubling the numbers. Alright, now that’s several classes.
Then there’s this book, with an initial subscription of two thousand two, which I found bewildering, not to mention surpassing the quality line later on, eventually reaching ten thousand subscriptions.
Σ(っ°Д°;)っ
So, this achievement is a lucky grant for me, how it came about is hard to say.
Perhaps I bought a promising stock at a low price, or maybe I benefited from a bullish market, but regardless, I sincerely thank every book friend who can see this.
I’ve always been clear about my own recognition; my so-called abilities are limited, and I ask everyone for understanding.
But every chapter I upload is written with care, not half-heartedly; I just know that earnestness is not a reason for everyone to accept it. Some things exist for my own beauty, not everyone’s.
Looking back, there are many parts in the stories I created that I’m dissatisfied with and regret. Objectively speaking, it must have more existing issues.
This book has reached the end, becoming a conclusion. Perhaps the next one will be better… but saying this, I feel a bit unconfident, unable to guarantee.
After all, one’s energy is limited. I have the heart to learn more techniques in this area and to draw inspiration from more excellent authors’ works, but many times I have the intention without the strength, especially under the current schedule.
But it’s New Year, so “the future will be better” should be a hope, and so this year, I will also work hard.
This will not be the last story I tell because I love this. It’s not easy to do something that matches one’s heart in life, so let me try to do a little more as much as I can.
Finally, I wish everyone reading this a Happy New Year, and may everything go smoothly.
Let’s meet again at the end of the story.
