Chapter 731: 31. Unclear
“.”
Listening to Mikhail’s words, Fisher’s mind was filled with more questions. He stroked his chin and raised two fingers at the snake person in front of him, asking,
“Two questions. From the current situation, it’s evident that Hamon Hamon absorbed your consciousness, and it seems it’s more of Mikhail’s part, which is almost equivalent to handing over His authority. I can’t think of a reason for this.
“Second, why is it that after being consumed by you, you can be free from the influence of the authority that is not mine? Does the soul of the Trans have something special?”
The snake person looked at Fisher with a blank expression and said,
“Let me answer the second question first. In fact, I am not special; my love for Michael is just a treasure I cherish. To the deities, I am merely a Trans who has lost my loved one and is struggling. But don’t forget what I said when I invited you, and haven’t you forgotten the name of the folder you just opened?”
Fisher was slightly taken aback, once again pondering the name of that file,
“Fisher Project, does it mean that your unchanging nature comes from the nature within my body? But, seven thousand years have passed, and I left the Holy Realm early to return to my own time. What exactly are you——?”
“Indeed, you left, but don’t forget that there was an existence that fell into the Sea of Chaos with you and also wasn’t swallowed by the chaos.”
The snake person squinted her eyes and spoke the name that was in Fisher’s mind,
“Hela
“At that time, we did not know her true identity, but the Heavenly Lock was aware that she fell into the Sea of Chaos and was safe. The Heavenly Lock learned that Hela once shared a room with you and inferred that Hela had gained some resistance to chaos, so it secretly ordered Michael and Raphael to start the [Fisher Project].
“In fact, as the child of the main deity, the Heavenly Lock understood better than anyone that chaos is merely the influence of other authorities and not truly an unclean thing. He also realized that you might have the nature to accommodate other authorities, which is why he chose Hela as a divine messenger, attempting to separate the nature she acquired from you by tormenting her.”
So it was like this.
Fisher finally understood.
At that time, Hela did not expose that she was the incarnation of the ocean; to others, she was just an ordinary angel. Why could she fall into the Sea of Chaos and not die?
Combining this with Fisher detonating the true power of the God of Renee in front of the Duke of Peach and remaining unharmed, as well as Hela once having shared a room with Fisher, led the Heavenly Lock to conclude that Fisher transmitted the nature to Hela.
After that, he secretly arranged for Archangel Raphael and Archangel Michael to establish the so-called “Fisher Project” to study the nature within Hela, demanding that they spare no expense to thoroughly understand this nature.
Although to the current Fisher, Hela was originally the incarnation of the ocean, and he didn’t know what kind of chaos erupted from beneath the ground at that time, it was entirely normal for her to be unharmed; it was just a series of misunderstandings caused by information disparity.
“The Heavenly Lock chose Hela as a divine messenger and had Raphael study her; in reality, that was merely another form of torment. Michael saw through the true intentions of the Heavenly Lock and Raphael, and at my persuasion, he helped Hela escape, leaving the Holy Realm to go to the Demon Dynasty, transforming from [Hela] to [Baemon].”
The Heavenly Lock.
Hearing that the Heavenly Lock sent Raphael to torment Hela after his departure, his eyes narrowed, and his heart tightened.
But she probably was just pretending.
Just like that time in the Sea of Chaos, she was clearly unharmed but acted so fragile in front of him.
Fisher, oh Fisher, she is the ocean; she came because of the nature within you. Everything is just her act, and you must remember this point.
“Because of Michael’s actions, the plan that the Heavenly Lock and Raphael had researched for a millennia unexpectedly made a breakthrough. Before leaving the Holy Realm, Hela handed a carefully preserved strand of hair to Michael. She said that hair was a memento taken from you.”
Fisher opened his mouth slightly and suddenly reached up to touch his head, wondering when that guy had done such a bad thing.
But this was entirely normal; Fisher basically indiscriminately killed all ladies, except when encountering Hela, where he fell asleep in her embrace every time filled with her smiles. Who knew what she had done during those moments?
He still remembered when he went to the palace of Baemon in the Demon Dynasty; there was a painting in her house that captured Fisher’s sleeping face.
“So, you can remain unchanged in the presence of Hamon Hamon’s authority?”
“Mm.” The snake person nodded. He raised his hand, a mocking smile on his lips. “Even though Hela handed your hair to Michael, he still couldn’t research the nature contained within your body, so he could only give up and preserve it.
“The opportunity to activate it came after Michael died, during the time I resisted him with my will. I was almost at my limit; Hamon Hamon’s infectious power was not something a mere mortal could resist, and I had already fallen into a desperate situation. Just as I mentioned before, I held onto despair, gazing at the database filled with memories of me and Michael, waiting to be completely killed and devoured by Hamon Hamon.
“It was only when I saw the [Fisher Project] folder that I remembered Michael had got your hair. With the thought of making a desperate last stand, I found your hair and swallowed it all.”
The snake person fell silent. The crumbling architecture around them suddenly spoke up, emitting a heavy, god-like voice,
“I saw it. I saw the true unchanging thing. I saw the opportunity to contain my consciousness and keep me forever in change. As long as I swallow him along with that nature, I can solidify from change and achieve the eternal unchanging I desire.”
“Boom!”
Hearing the voices from all directions, the cracks on the snake person’s body grew denser, and bits of starlight burst forth from that incarnation, dissipating in midair like fragments of consciousness.
The snake person looked around and said sarcastically,
“Hamon Hamon thinks He has grasped the unchanging truth. As long as He absorbs my consciousness and swallows that precious nature, He will greet the next unchanging with the final change. Suppressing me with His divine consciousness is not an easy task; it’s like a drop of ink merging into a green lake, which will soon vanish into the formless.
“He just doesn’t know that the true existence possessing that precious nature (Fisher) has yet to be born; what He has seized is merely the fading remnants, just the ‘unchanging illusion.’”
The snake person wearily lowered his head and softly said,
“The conclusion of the story is quite simple, isn’t it? The weak nature attached to that hair erupted with decades of residual unchanging heat, and then one day, He was horrified to find that the other was once again spreading, completely devouring His body and consciousness. That other would change both Him and me, turning into the current naive me, a brand new Hamon Hamon, a deity possessing the memories of both Hamon Hamon and Mikhail.
“The ink is no longer ink, the lake is no longer the lake; now there is only me, clinging to the unchanging things, holding onto the lonely souls of Michael, you all, and this world.”
“.”
Fisher stopped speaking and looked at the increasingly dim Hamon Hamon with a complex expression. After a moment of silence, he said regretfully,
“It’s hard to imagine that a deity’s pursuit is only this.”
“Yeah, it’s truly unfortunate, but because we have already become one, I can understand Him very well, just like I understand my own thoughts.”
The snake person’s gaze slightly lifted, addressing Fisher,
“Because of significance, Fisher.
“Consciousness only seeks what it has yet to obtain, yet feels confused about those distant things. Just like an insect that struggles to fill its belly can’t comprehend a peacock’s distress in courtship. A peacock, distressed by courtship, can’t understand a person’s worries about wealth, and those worried about wealth can’t understand the meanings of existence or the mysteries of the universe that torment deities.
“You possess the nature that many deities long for and do not see it as precious. Instead, you worry about the discord among a few women around you; isn’t it just like the deities who already have powerful authorities that you can’t imagine and yet do not cherish them, willing to pay with their lives for an answer?”
“.”
“Boom!!”
The collapse around them intensified, with chunks of flesh-and-blood debris pouring down, landing not far behind Fisher.
Hamon Hamon’s words reminded Fisher, giving him a further understanding of deities.
He sighed with a sense of loss, murmuring,
“Deities’ thoughts, huh? Should I be grateful that you turned Mikhail’s demands into part of yourself? Otherwise, you wouldn’t do such things for the safety of this world.”
“Yes, I don’t know how long I can hold out before the other wholly changes me. Sooner or later, [I] too will be completely altered by the other. At that point, maybe I will be like countless past Hamon Hamons, leaving only the pursuit of the unchanging. Rather than this, it’s better to wrap things up while I can still escape the cycle of the unchanging.”
Fisher’s gaze dropped as he deduced the truth from the details outside. However, witnessing someone who was alive ten thousand years ago reach the end of the road now still filled him with melancholy.
He lowered his head and gently said to Hamon Hamon,
“Thank you.”
“No, I should be the one thanking you, Fisher.”
The long tail behind the snake person coiled together, and He reluctantly looked back, towards the shadow of the two embracing beneath the mycelium, saying,
“Thanks to you, I can still remember that beauty, can still cherish the thousands of years spent with Michael, and step out of the unchanging, feeling that I am still a mortal.
“I will stop here. The authority that is not me will completely perish with my death, and as for the other authority, it will soon cross the barrier into this world. If you don’t want it to develop consciousness like the infinite authority, hurry and go there to encompass it with your precious nature.”
“Crack!”
“Goodbye, Mikhail.”
The snake person wearily lowered his head, urging Fisher to leave quickly. Watching His appearance, Fisher finally bid Him farewell with his gaze and turned to leave.
Just as he turned his head, Hamon Hamon’s voice, as if remembering something, rang out behind him,
“Oh, right, Fisher, there’s another very important matter that I didn’t have the chance to tell you earlier, which I only discovered after I killed the incarnation of the ocean.”
Fisher turned around and listened as Hamon Hamon’s words struck his mind word by word, firmly etching into his consciousness,
“The [Barrier of Azanros also applies to the ocean.]”
Fisher was slightly taken aback, digesting the meaning of His words and firmly remembering them,
“. Thank you.”
“Quickly go.”
Fisher no longer hesitated; he turned around and activated all the power within him, crazily sprinting towards the outside of the sanctuary.
Leaving behind the increasingly dimming form of Hamon Hamon.
He slowly raised his finger, pointing to his brow, the Sea of Consciousness returning beyond the barrier, back to the wildly furious Crimson Force.
That crimson power pierced through from a distant star, firmly grasping His chaotic, liquid-like body, about to tear Him apart in an instant.
The power of dreams was too strong; he had no power to resist and could only send the other authority into the barrier with all his strength.
Only at this moment, did he recall what Fisher had said to him during their farewell.
Mikhail, huh.
He seemed like the ship of Theseus drifting in the ocean.
Clearly, everything on His body had changed, just like a boat where bricks, stones, and vegetation had been completely replaced.
Am I Hamon Hamon, or is Mikhail me?
Unclear, truly unclear.
Hamon Hamon did not want to get entangled in this question, but in the embrace of the crimson mist, His chaotic body began to magically transform into something capable of matching reality.
His body gradually morphed into a mechanism with angel wings, that chaotic liquid slowly turning into celestial nectar, transforming into a glimmering angelic halo.
“Boom!”
In such an exaggerated and dreamlike collapse, white, delicate hands suddenly cradled the last remnants of His body, pulling Him upwards as if to take Him to some unknown faraway place.
“Buzz”
Those angelic arms, as delicate as porcelain, embraced Him tightly, causing Him to tremble slightly, and He softly asked within his heart,
“Michael?”
“.”
The white arms offered no response, suddenly applying strength and causing Him to shatter completely in the center of that white palm, vanishing before the barrier.
“Crack!”
While Fisher was desperately running within the sanctuary, he heard a crisp sound reminiscent of breaking glass, and the surrounding sanctuary began to collapse just like Hamon Hamon’s body, destroying the Sacred Realm scenery replicated in his memory.
At the same time, at the moment when the authority of [not me] completely perished, golden illusory subtitles transformed from the Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans appeared before Fisher.
“Congratulations! You have completely read through the Supplement Handbook for Mechanisms.”
“Congratulations! You have successfully illuminated the part about the spreading of not-me in the Duke of Peach’s Chaos Handbook.”
Sure enough, the purpose of the Supplement Handbook for Sub-Humans was to hope he would completely seal the channels represented by these completion handbooks along with the external chaos, reading them thoroughly to cause them to erupt and then use Fisher’s precious nature contained within to completely eliminate that chaotic authority, which was almost indistinguishable.
“Fisher, here!!”
As Fisher ran madly, the outer part of the sanctuary, which was about to collapse into ruins, was suddenly struck by the mechanism ship piloted by David, crashing into the sanctuary from the side. On the deck, Gouwen looked anxious and yelled at Fisher.
The moment Fisher lifted his gaze, he suddenly leaped off the ground, landing on the deck, and David quickly turned the ship away from the collapsing parts of the sanctuary.
“Boom!”
Behind him, the enormous sanctuary began to turn gray, breaking apart as if witnessing the death of a deity.
Within the sanctuary, the environment in the Spirit Realm was equally unsafe, with the entire Sea of Crimson in the Spirit Realm surging violently like it was boiling.
“What happened here?”
Gouwen frowned, looking at the chaotic situation in the Spirit Realm, worrying about the safety of Xu and Jasmine, who were hiding.
But just as he was about to have David turn the ship around, Fisher stood up and shouted at David,
“David, hurry! We need to go to the Sea of Souls, the direction of The Ultimate! Hamon Hamon’s authority is entering the barrier; I must go there now!”
“Okay.”
“Buzz buzz!”
The mechanism turned in midair, heading towards the Soul Sea in the deep universe of the Spirit Realm, still flickering with points of fluorescence despite being enveloped by crimson pollution. In that direction, with the return of divine authority after millennia, the barrier engulfing the Spirit Realm lit up with golden radiance symbolizing Azanros’s authority.
Before that golden glow, the figures of the gods appeared faintly, including the true form of Renee.
