Chapter 768 Valentina Rainbow Wing
“Huh? This must be fake, impossible.”
Valentina incredulously reached out and grabbed the Duke of Peach’s shoulder, shaking it slightly while asking in astonishment, causing the Duke’s expression to become even more haggard.
She gently patted Valentina’s hand, trying to calm her down, and then continued, “You should know that when Fei threw mother’s tree roots here, the terrain was modified. Mother’s spatial power distorted Sema Snow Mountain and the entire northern region’s terrain, allowing the Phoenix to settle here, recreating the Parasol Tree.”
At this moment, in the Phoenix Hall deep within the Parasol Tree, Valentina, the Duke of Peach, and Fisher were present.
Valentina sat on the throne wearing an elegant robe from the Tree Continent, while the Duke of Peach was draped in a bear fur cloak, with untransformed snowflakes hanging on her, clearly having just returned from outside, discovering something to discuss with Valentina.
“So that means…”
“Ah, yes, you know that my deceased self was preserved in the tree roots by mother’s power, allowing me to meet you again and regain new life. But because of my departure, the power of mother’s roots caused fluctuations, leading to significant changes in the northern terrain. The ice cap there completely collapsed, resulting in a tsunami and considerable aftershocks.”
Valentina’s eyes widened, and she became completely motionless like a statue.
“Hey, Valentina? Valentina? Why aren’t you moving?”
The Duke of Peach疑惑ly waved her hand in front of the completely dazed Valentina, but she still showed no reaction, leaving her even more perplexed.
It was Fisher, dressed in a warm cloak beside them, who understood the reason. He sighed and smiled bitterly at the Duke of Peach, saying, “Thank you for checking the situation, Duke. But I heard that a portion of the Troll Race in the north has migrated to the seaside. Were they affected?”
Upon hearing Fisher’s words, Valentina suddenly came to her senses, her expression becoming much more serious as she hurriedly asked, “Yes, Daliwu and Elder Kokoliah just left not long ago. How is the situation?”
“So that’s the reason.” The Duke of Peach blinked and waved her hand dismissively, saying, “What could happen with me around? Those trolls are doing just fine; I stopped the tsunami. No need to worry.”
Fisher nodded and said something that might have been a compliment, “You’re impressive, Duke.”
“Hmph, of course.”
But the Duke of Peach was too lazy to analyze the meaning behind Fisher’s words. She flared her nostrils, placed her hands on her hips, looking proud to the heavens. However, she quickly coughed lightly and turned to leave, “Alright, I’m off. You two can play by yourselves. Also, I plan to leave the Northern region and head south for a while. I haven’t been home for a long time, time for a little vacation. You too, Valentina, don’t tighten up every day handling the Parasol Tree issues. Take some time to go out with him, take a break for a day or two; this place isn’t going anywhere.”
The “home” she referred to was likely the ruins on the Tree Continent in the Southern Continent.
The Duke of Peach pulled down the hood of her bear cloak and swaggered away, leaving Fisher and Valentina alone in the large hall.
Watching the Duke of Peach’s departing figure, Valentina sighed deeply, and the sound was clear to hear.
“Eh…”
But just as she finished sighing, she remembered that Fisher was still beside her, so she blushed slightly and shyly looked at Fisher, “Sorry, I feel a bit embarrassed.”
Fisher didn’t mind, as he knew the true reason for Valentina’s sigh, “What’s the matter? Thinking about the Rainbow Wing Whale?”
“Ah, yes.” Valentina didn’t expect Fisher to remember so clearly. Now that Fisher brought it up, she couldn’t help but smile wryly and admit, “I’ve been waiting so long; I even bothered Miss Jasmine and Fisher to check down below for me, thinking there might be some hope.”
The Rainbow Wing Whale, a legendary creature unique to the northern region’s polar seas, became a sight of awe in northern legends due to its magnificent form and huge fin-like limbs resembling colorful wings.
For centuries, the Rainbow Wing Whale had only appeared in epics and poems, causing other beings to have forgotten about it long ago.
But fortunately, Valentina’s parents, who had left early, left her a photograph of them witnessing the Rainbow Wing Whale with their own eyes, making it an irreplaceable part of her dreams even today.
According to her mother’s notes, this whale lived in a vast space beneath the ice cap, a place that had never been visited by other beings, shrouded in mystery. It was presumed to have a great separation from the outside; otherwise, the Rainbow Wing Whale would not be so rare.
To fulfill Valentina’s wish, about half a year ago, Fisher and Jasmine dived into the northern ocean, trying to find that mysterious space beneath the ice cap and the legendary Rainbow Wing Whale.
They did find it; indeed, there was an incredibly vast area under the ice cap, even with air and vegetation present.
But the bad news was that the ecosystem there was particularly fragile, and the entrance opened periodically with the movement of the ice cap.
To reverse the periodic opening of the ice cap would, of course, be possible for Fisher at his rank, but it would be challenging to guarantee that it wouldn’t disrupt the ecosystem. Forcing entry in search of the Rainbow Wing Whale could lead to a tragedy, possibly causing the extinction of the very creature they wished to see.
Thus, Valentina decisively abandoned the idea. She decided to wait for the natural opening of the ice cap, waiting for the day when the Rainbow Wing Whale would float to the surface and reveal itself.
Even when she had made such a decision, today, the Duke of Peach returned with news of the ice cap’s entire space being obliterated due to changes in the World Tree’s roots’ power.
There was no need to think; living in such a fragile ecological environment, could there be any eggs left under an overturned nest?
The more she thought, the more bitter Valentina’s expression became. She lowered her head, as if her entire being had wilted.
After a long silence, her azure feathers trembled slightly behind her, and then she managed to gather her spirits and raise her head, forcing a smile as she said, “Well, it’s something that can’t be helped. It’s alright, Fisher.”
Fisher reached out a warm hand from beneath his cloak and gently stroked her forehead, causing her to squint slightly as if feeling a tickling sensation, “Do you really like to keep everything bottled up? This place isn’t a stomach; it doesn’t have that much acid to digest everything.”
“Ugh…” Valentina lowered her head, looking wronged, while Fisher raised his hand slightly and proposed, “How about you go take another look at the North Ocean? First, even if the Duke himself intervenes, the trolls must have been frightened; secondly, I can dive down again to check the situation. Whether it was damaged or not, perhaps some lucky ones escaped; lastly…”
As he reached the end of his statement, his thick fingers traced the contour of her temple downward, rubbing the signs of fatigue under her eyes, “Even if we don’t find the Rainbow Wing Whale in the end, that place is where your parents once traveled. You should go see it and relax a bit.”
Valentina opened her mouth hesitantly, and Fisher asked again, “So, how about it?”
“Mm!” Encouraged by Fisher’s warm words, Valentina ultimately agreed, nodding firmly, deciding to head to the northernmost part of the Northern Region with Fisher.
“Whoa! Whoa!” The sun was so bright, yet even on the white expanse of endless snow, the sun in the northern winter seemed bleak.
This was the furthest north of the Northern Region, and beyond the northernmost land lay glaciers, with ice chunks beneath their feet that had endured countless years of the Northern Region’s biting winds and snow, as hard as rock.
Under the towering glacier cliffs, the still pitch-black ocean surged violently, crashing against the mountains.
“Boom!!”
Who would have thought that the next second, with a fountain of water shooting into the sky, a wet figure quickly emerged from the water, soaring high before landing on the edge of the glacier. A closer look revealed it was Fisher.
“Splash! Splash!”
Fisher took a deep breath, reacquainting himself with the air above ground, then quickly walked towards the tent he had already set up on the glacier.
Of course, the tents in the Northern Region were quite different from those set up elsewhere. To avoid being blown away at night by raging winds, Fisher put in considerable effort, using giant steel pegs, wool blankets, and various heating spells to create an extraordinarily warm little home. It was incredibly comfortable.
In short, this would be their base for exploring the Northern Region over the next few days.
He picked up a towel and wiped the water droplets from his body before quickly putting on a fur cloak.
Puffs of white breath billowed from his mouth as he silently sat by the heating magic boiling hot water outside the tent, absorbing the warmth. With his rank, his body temperature quickly returned to normal.
However, he gazed out at the ocean beyond the glacier, his expression a mix of emotions, unsure of what he was thinking.
“Whoosh.”
“Fisher!”
“Rumble!”
Just then, Valentina’s affectionate call echoed from the sky, followed by the exaggerated sonic boom from the flight of the Phoenix Race.
The wave of air that surged around seemed to jolt Fisher’s robe. He stood up, watching Valentina gracefully descend with her wings folded, and asked, “Valentina, you’re back! How’s it going with the trolls?”
“Pretty much the same as the Duke said; they aren’t in any trouble.”
Seeing Fisher’s still wet hair, Valentina realized he had just returned from the ocean. Earlier, they had split up; she went to check on the newly settled trolls while Fisher dived down to see how things looked beneath the ice cap.
Her eyes lit up, gleaming with anticipation, “So, what’s the situation down there?”
Fisher’s expression showed hesitance, but in the end, he shook his head and replied, “It’s all rubble down there, and many bodies of unfamiliar creatures. The ecosystem inside has completely been destroyed. I checked; there was originally supposed to be a relatively closed ecosystem with a cycle of oxygen, allowing the Rainbow Wing Whale to breathe and survive. But now, it’s all filled with seawater, seamlessly merging with the outside, and almost no creatures have survived.”
“….”
Valentina’s lips parted slightly, and after a moment of stunned silence, she said with some regret, “I see.”
Seeing her disappointment, Fisher added, “But it’s not entirely hopeless. Because at that moment, who knows the real-time condition below? Even the Duke only sensed the tsunami and went to stop it from affecting the land. And the Rainbow Wing Whale is the only recorded creature that has left that ecosystem, which implies it possesses the ability to adapt to both internal and external environments. Perhaps some lucky ones escaped when the ice cap collapsed?”
Upon hearing this, Valentina smiled slightly, shaking her head as she crouched down. It was then that Fisher noticed she was holding a medium-sized fabric bundle in her arms.
“It’s fine, Fisher, look at this.”
She opened the fabric bundle, letting several notebooks scatter out, each with different titles but all handwritten by someone.
Fisher looked down and saw the titles of the notebooks strewn on the ground, written in Northern Region Language—”Terrain Study of the Northern Ocean Zone,” “Ice-top Creatures Illustrated,” “Photo Collection.”
It had everything, except the detailed notes describing the Rainbow Wing Whale.
Thus, Fisher raised an eyebrow and asked, “What are these?”
“These are the notes my parents wrote after traveling here years ago. The information about the Rainbow Wing Whale was just one of several notebooks. That photo of the Rainbow Wing Whale is also kept in this photo collection.”
Valentina opened the photo collection, flipping through page after page, revealing images of her two very young parents, bundled in heavy furs, smiling at the camera while holding snow travel tools.
At that time, there was no colorful imaging technology of the Mechanism, and photographs were taken with a very heavy camera, resulting in black-and-white images.
The photo collection contained a wealth of precious memories left by Valentina’s parents, showcasing various subhuman figures and stunning natural landscapes, as well as rare flora and fauna. At the very end of all the photos, Fisher finally saw the picture of the Rainbow Wing Whale.
In the photo, the massive whale leaped into the air, caught mostly in the camera frame, but its head, tail, and fins could not be accommodated due to its immense size.
The photo was incomplete and black-and-white, but the movement largely resembled the Rainbow Wing Whale Valentina had imagined in her dream.
Noticing Fisher’s meticulous gaze, Valentina smiled gently, explaining, “The photo not having color isn’t entirely accurate either. The one you saw in the dream was my subjective creation based on my parents’ descriptions, so I don’t know how similar it is to the real one. But that’s not what I wanted to say.
“I mean, Fisher, look; actually, my parents saw a lot of things along their journey here, not just the Rainbow Wing Whale. To put it bluntly, the Rainbow Wing Whale was more of a serendipitous gift during their travels rather than their original purpose for coming here. For a long time, its allure has occupied all my attention. So, before I came, I had already mentally prepared for the possibility that I might never see it again.
“But it’s okay; I brought all the other notes. Being able to see these is enough.”
In truth, she knew very well that Fisher’s earlier words were meant to comfort her, and Fisher also understood the subtle disappointment that flowed from her heart. But since Valentina chose to respond with a brave smile, Fisher followed suit.
“Alright, then let’s explore the area nearby for the next few days. Uh, shall we follow the route of your uncle and aunt?”
Fisher smiled as he raised the photo collection, proposing while glancing at the nearby luggage. Before Valentina could respond, he gently reached out and picked up a Mechanism camera, aiming it at the gorgeous Valentina in front of him.
“First step, let’s start with taking a picture of my beloved wife. Look this way.”
“Ah? Take a picture of me? Wait, I’m not ready yet.”
“Click!”
As a photo slid out from the Mechanism, Fisher gently examined the image and gave a thumbs up, saying, “An absolutely beautiful shot!”
“….”
Valentina looked at Fisher, who was praising her with suspicious eyes, wondering if she looked as good as he said.
So she flapped her wings lightly and flew beside him to see the photo he held.
In his hands was a picture taken from an odd angle, poorly exposed, with an abstract expression and a quirky pose of “Valentina’s Gorgeous Photo.”
“….”
Valentina turned to Fisher, who was full of glee, and he smiled, trying to take credit, “So, how’s it—”
“Fisher!! Tear that photo up right now!!”
Before she finished, the frustrated Valentina rushed forward and wouldn’t let him touch the camera.
“Ah? Why not?”
“No, no, no, no!”
Fisher, holding the picture, stood up and ran away, and seeing this, Valentina angrily…
Lowering her head, she reached out and packed a snowball, throwing it onto his back.
“Watch out! Watch out!”
“Don’t you think it’s cute?”
“Where is it cute!? You… you quickly throw that weird thing away!”
Valentina blushed; just thinking about the possibility of that photo being placed in her parents’ photo album for future generations to see made her want to bang her head against the wall.
If that abstract ugly photo of the phoenix was discovered…
The worst part was that Fisher actually thought it was very cute?!
As Fisher ran ahead, Valentina chased after him, throwing countless snowballs like bullets. Now, the exceptionally healthy Valentina was more energetic than in her dreams.
Seeing that she couldn’t catch up with Fisher, Valentina pouted slightly, her wings moving slightly. With a flash of cold light, a huge ice wall suddenly rose in front of Fisher.
Fisher raised an eyebrow, turned around, and said, “You’re cheating!”
As soon as he turned, a snowball hit him in the face.
“Ha!”
Then, Valentina’s whole fragrant and soft body pounced on him, firmly pinning him down onto the snow.
Valentina sat dominantly on Fisher, and looking down at his innocent yet exceptionally handsome face, she suddenly felt shy, her gaze darting away.
Who asked her husband to be so damn sweet?
Valentina pouted, not saying a word, just leaning down to domineeringly grip his wrist and kissing his lips.
“…”
After a moment, when their lips parted, the breath with a hint of sweetness struck Fisher’s cheek once again. Their eyes were close, their gazes weaving together.
However, the extremely ambiguous atmosphere did not last long because in the next moment, Fisher felt his hand loosen. He looked up, and Valentina had already snatched that photo and was holding it in her hand.
She was originally about to tear it up, but upon seeing Fisher below her hesitate for a moment, she stopped.
In the end, she only angrily stuffed that photo into her own bosom and snatched the camera from Fisher’s hand, declaring,
“This photo is under my care, and in the meantime, touching the camera is prohibited until Fisher learns how to take pictures!”
Bullied by his domineering wife.
Fisher thought innocently.
But after reading the sentence with the authority of a judge, Valentina smiled and lifted the camera, aiming it at Fisher, and said,
“So next, let me take a picture of you.”
“…”
Not every night in the Northern Region would be stormy; for example, tonight, it was unusually quiet.
In the vast night sky, the moon and stars were sparse.
On the endless snowfield, firelight flickered, and a long stream of steam leaked from the pot, showing signs of human presence.
Fisher and Valentina did not set up camp in the earlier constructed campsite, as they had been playing and taking pictures since noon and unknowingly wandered quite far.
They had originally planned to return to rest when night fell, but tonight was exceptionally serene, so they lost their urge to return and decided to stay outside for a while longer.
Casually picking some things to cook for dinner and starting a fire for a temporary rest, Fisher looked helplessly at Valentina, who was eagerly selecting photos in front of the fire.
When it came to photos, girls were generally more interested, and to be honest, Valentina’s photography skills were indeed much better than Fisher’s.
At this moment, she had laid out quite a few photos in front of her, clearly categorized with natural landscapes and small animals seen along the way, but more were the pictures of her and Fisher.
Fisher, dressed in a big cloak, half-naked, was holding a wild terrestrial seabird,
Fisher had Valentina in his arms, and Valentina raised her camera high, making their faces, which were so close together, appear vibrant, making it obvious they were a couple on honeymoon.
“Not bad, not bad. This one is also good.”
Fisher smiled slightly; although he didn’t want to interrupt his wife’s enthusiasm, the food cooking in the pot was at a stage where they had to eat, so he had to speak up for the food not to be wasted,
“It’s time to eat.”
“Coming!”
Valentina put away the photos and came over with a bowl to the fire, letting Fisher scoop a full bowl of thick soup for her.
While enjoying dinner, she looked around at the scenery with some admiration,
“I really did not expect this.”
“Did not expect what?”
“I just lamented that Mom and Dad took weeks to travel, and we finished it in a day.”
“That’s something that can’t be helped; after all, our rank is there. We’re not very afraid of the cold and snow and don’t require long breaks. Even if we unconsciously slow down, we can’t extend this journey any longer; otherwise, we might be staring blankly here before the sun sets.”
“Hehe, then you can take more pictures of me.”
“That’s boring; you won’t let me take pictures.”
“Who told you to take such ugly photos?! Look, is this photo still me?”
As Valentina spoke, she indignantly took out that ugly photo that Fisher had taken during the day, and Fisher showed no signs of regret; he genuinely thought that photo was quite good,
“I still think it’s very cute.”
“Please spare me.”
Fisher smiled slightly, conceding to Valentina’s wishes, but out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly looked up at the sky, where the originally deep darkness had, he didn’t know when, brightened with ribbons of faint green light that were like silk.
He opened his mouth and hurriedly reminded,
“Quick, look, Valentina.”
“Ah, yes, it’s the aurora!”
“Yes, according to Duke Peach, it’s a sight formed by stars forged by Ouyun.”
“Ugh, she’s not romantic at all; I can imagine her tone would definitely be indifferent.”
“You’re right, and it should also have a ‘junk fish’ thrown in.”
“Hahahaha.”
Valentina laughed and sipped a mouthful of hot soup from her bowl, wanting to see what the ocean should look like under the bright aurora at that moment.
But what she first noticed wasn’t the ocean but a small stone that had been hiding in the darkness.
The stone was half-buried in the snow; at first glance, it was just a very ordinary stone, but because of the aurora, Valentina suddenly discovered that writing seemed to have been inscribed on it using some magical material.
She stood up in surprise and called out to Fisher,
“Fisher, over there… that stone seems to have writing on it.”
“Writing?”
Hearing this, Fisher also stood up and followed Valentina toward that direction.
When they reached the stone, Valentina was just about to wipe off the frost and snow covering it when Fisher, behind her, reminded,
“It looks like there’s something pressed under that stone.”
“Huh?”
Valentina paused in her movements, looking down; sure enough, she saw a completely soaked small cloth bag showing beneath the stone.
She reached out, grabbed the edge of that cloth bag, and pulled it out, revealing some indistinct Turan Family crest already somewhat blurred on it.
“Turan Family.”
The moment she saw that crest, Valentina felt her heart stir; it was not because of the family that chose to sacrifice her, but because of the two blood relatives who once belonged to that family.
Her parents.
Her breathing accelerated, and she hurriedly opened that incredibly shriveled cloth bag.
Inside lay a wrinkled, water-dampened photograph quietly.
Fisher squatted down, watching as Valentina cautiously pulled out the photo.
The image on the photo was simple; in a black, white, and gray-themed setting, in front of a blindingly white wall stood a young man with white hair and a cursed scar on his face, smiling as he helped a woman, who was also smiling but somewhat emaciated due to the curse, seated on a nearby wooden chair.
Although the woman was thin, her pair of eyes shone with intelligence.
In her arms, a frail baby in a swaddling blanket had its eyes tightly shut, and it seemed to be breathing with its mouth slightly open. It was evident that the baby was also undergoing violent torment from a bloodline curse.
As the one who came after, Fisher knew clearly that this curse prevented the child from walking and from living beyond twenty.
Valentina looked at the photo, her breathing growing even more rapid.
“It’s Dad and Mom. This is the photo they left here. This is my Dad and Mom, holding a photo of me.”
Tears welled up in her eyes, and as she spoke tremblingly, she clutched that photo to her chest, hurriedly reaching to brush off the snow covering the stone.
“Swish.”
As the snow on that stone was gradually brushed away, the words originally left by Valentina’s parents were revealed.
It read,
“May our daughter one day grow colorful wings like that giant whale and soar freely.”
The words engraved on the stone remained unchanged, just as they were when the couple who had come from afar buried the photo many years ago.
Gazing at the text on the stone, tears finally gathered in Valentina’s eyes, flowing down in rivers.
Fisher reached out and pulled Valentina into his embrace, letting her lean against his arm.
“Woo… woo woo… Dad and Mom.”
In Fisher’s embrace, Valentina finally broke down in tears, holding tightly onto the photo in her arms, as if hugging her parents who had come here all those years ago.
“It’s okay, it’s okay, Valentina.”
“Woo woo woo.”
Fisher held Valentina closer, continuously giving her warmth.
The aurora above was gentle, amidst the dark snowfield, only the girl’s scattered cries remained, blending in with the waves rolling in.
Whether it was a response to the girl’s emotion or not, the waves seemed to grow fiercer.
“Swish!”
Holding the trembling Valentina, Fisher looked up at the ocean in front of him, but unexpectedly, a wave crashed straight onto the shore, splashing up to several meters high.
“Swish!”
What’s going on?
Fisher was slightly startled, looking in the direction of the ocean. He hadn’t seen anything, but he was first met with a sound that was like an ancient call.
“Oo!!”
That was a distant whale song.
“Boom~”
In the vast sea, a column of water shot out from beneath the surface.
Fisher’s eyes widened, and he patted Valentina’s shoulder, wanting to activate the lighting magic he carried to get a glimpse of the hidden creatures beneath the surface of the sea.
However, he never expected that his actions were unnecessary.
Because in the next second, at the moment Valentina raised her gaze in disbelief, from beneath the surface of the sea, a huge silhouette shimmering in crystal blue suddenly flaunted its enormous tail glowing orange-red like a brilliant spectacle.
That whale tail, which was about two people high and seven or eight people wide, indicated that the giant whale was inverted under the water. After that, the whale tail quickly disappeared from the surface.
Then,
“Boom!!”
With a shocking bang, against the backdrop of the aurora, the huge crystal blue whale leaped from the depths of the water like a dance, as if it were playing.
Its body radiated a glow that was distinctly eye-catching without needing any lighting magic. The originally incredibly strong body bore some scars, marks from its escape from beneath the ice sheet, as well as a testament to its vigorous vitality.
Those scars in no way diminished its majesty or beauty; rather, they brought a sense of realism that made one hold their breath in awe.
It told those who saw it: it still exists! Even if scarred and battered, it has escaped from despair!
In mid-air, it extended its colorful fin-like limbs recklessly.
Like vibrant fireworks celebrating New Year’s Eve at midnight, like a rainbow bridge extending through dreams and reality in the still of the night.
What color was that?
The extreme colors appeared different from every angle.
Not only did those magnificent fins serve as the limbs that allowed this giant whale to swim in the sea, but they also seemed like wings supporting its flight!!
Is it flying?
“Oo!!”
The earth-shattering whale song disrupted the aurora, lifting the waves and capturing all of Fisher and Valentina’s attention.
Valentina covered her mouth, her eyes sparkling, and she excitedly shouted at Fisher,
“Fisher!! It’s the Rainbow Wing Whale! It… it has come back to life!! It’s still here! Did you see it? Oh my god! It has come back to life!!”
Fisher was equally astonished. However, after a brief moment of shock, he smiled and turned to Valentina, who was excitedly covering her mouth while watching the Rainbow Wing Whale.
He meaningfully repeated,
“Yes, it has come back to life.”
As gravity pulled the enormous whale back into the sea, Valentina hurriedly raised the mechanism camera and captured it completely.
“Click!”
This time, the photo was no longer black and white, nor was it just a part of its body.
Valentina and Fisher together perfectly captured the Rainbow Wing Whale that had miraculously returned to life.
“Oo!!”
“Boom!!”
Accompanied by the mighty whale song, amidst the soaring white water column, its colorful fins were the finale of this extraordinary scene.
In the ebb and flow of the tide, the Rainbow Wing Whale had completed its breathing action and then deep-dived into the sea, vanishing without a trace.
And Valentina remained in shock, watching the gradually calming surface of the sea.
“It has gone.”
Fisher reminded with a laugh.
Valentina opened her mouth, as if she couldn’t believe everything she had just seen was real. She quickly lowered her head to check the photo pouring out from the camera.
It was only after seeing the vividly colorful whale dancing gracefully under the aurora that she confirmed everything that had just occurred was true.
Fisher leaned closer and said while looking at the photo of the whale,
“It doesn’t seem to look much like the whale in the dream, and even the scars on it are perfectly captured. But the angle is perfect and very clear. Alright, I’ll reluctantly admit that your photography is slightly better than mine.”
Valentina playfully punched Fisher’s shoulder but still couldn’t take her eyes off the photo in her hand. She tightly held Fisher’s hand, clutching the freshly developed photo of the Rainbow Wing Whale.
Beneath that photo were two more photos.
One was the ugly photo Fisher took of her this morning.
The other was wrinkled, the photo her parents had left here.
At the top was the photo of the Rainbow Wing Whale, completely different from the image in her dreams.
Looking at the photos in her hand, Valentina finally smiled, crying as she laughed.
She had to wipe her tears.
However, strangely, the more she wiped, the more tears flowed, and the more her smile blossomed.
She maintained that tearful smile, looking at Fisher in front of her with love, her voice trembling with excitement.
She said,
“Not looking like it is good, not looking like it is good.”
“Because this place is not a dream.”
“This place is not a dream.”
