Chapter: Chapter 190
“It feels like you two discussed something rather important in the Divine Realm,” Sasa said, still chewing on a pastry as she looked at Kira and Bai Ling, who had emerged from a black hole.
“It’s more like we were thoroughly lectured by an ancestor,” Kira replied wearily. The deity within this divine artifact was apparently an ancestor of their Infernal family.
In Infernal’s own words, she had helped give birth to the first Demon King’s child.
Yes, literally helped give birth.
From a certain perspective, Infernal truly lived up to her name, as both Leticia and Kira now carried Infernal’s blood.
Though it was an incredibly small amount.
“I’m planning to go rescue Leticia right now,” Bai Ling, who had regained some strength after a nap in the Divine Realm, was impatient to rush into the Divine Realm to save Leticia.
Upon leaving, Infernal had also given her a secret weapon, stating it could temporarily seal a deity’s actions, preventing Bai Ling from accidentally entering the true Divine Realm and dying before even achieving her goal.
At least if the god was controlled, there would still be a chance to escape, right?
“Is Miss Bai ready?” Sasa asked. Entering the divine realm of an enemy deity was extremely dangerous. “Why don’t we wait for support from our God Seat?”
Although their God Seat couldn’t offer much help in combat, minor things like casting some buffs on Bai Ling or opening the portal in a precise location were no problem at all.
“No, I’m worried she can’t hold on for much longer,” Bai Ling shook her head. Every moment now was precious, and they couldn’t waste time.
It wasn’t like she could say that since Leticia could hold out for seven days, she’d leisurely play for seven days before going to rescue her. That wouldn’t be rescue; that would be collecting a corpse.
Seeing Bai Ling so determined, Sasa didn’t try to persuade her anymore. She couldn’t forcibly prevent Bai Ling from going to save someone.
“Hoo, no time to lose, let’s go.”
…
“Hey, how many days has it been? This wretched place of yours is pitch black, with nothing to use as a reference,” Leticia asked the sky while squatting in the darkness.
After being cursed for so long, the deity seemed tired of yelling, and her voice carried evident signs of exhaustion. “Heh, already can’t take it? I’m telling you, not even a full day has passed yet.”
Ah, only one day? I thought many days had passed.
Leticia stared blankly at the profound darkness before her. This was the deity’s authority. She had tried using light spells, but the results were less than satisfactory.
All she gained was the deity’s merciless laughter and a drain of mana, although the mana was quickly replenished.
“I suddenly understand why you became so crazy,” Leticia looked up at the sky, knowing that the god was definitely watching her. “Being cooped up in a place like this for so long, going insane is actually normal.”
“I’m not crazy! If it weren’t for that bastard, I would have long escaped this damn place and ruled the world!” the deity roared, still deeply resentful of a loss from many years ago.
In her dreams, she had dismembered that hateful black-haired individual countless times, but upon waking, she was greeted only by endless darkness and loneliness.
“Then if a god can’t defeat a mortal, isn’t that just being weak?” Leticia argued that the weak should look for reasons within themselves, and impotent rage was the behavior of the weak. “How about we make a deal?”
“You intend to bribe a god? I’m telling you, it’s impossible!”
“Don’t refuse so quickly, listen to my terms.” Leticia wasn’t flustered at all; after all, she had plenty of time to wear down this god until the Bai person came to rescue her, and that would be a success. “You want me to release your true form to descend? Don’t even think about it. But I can give you a chance to breathe in the fresh outside air.”
“You think I’d care about your offer? I’m telling you, even if you offer me your body, I won’t agree to your terms,” the deity loudly declared.
Of course, if Leticia had actually made that offer, the deity would have been somewhat tempted.
Leticia’s body was an irresistible temptation for any deity. If Mo Zili was the key to unlocking the seal of the Underworld God, then Leticia was a master key, capable of unlocking any god’s seal.
There was no need for flowery explanations; Leticia was essentially the Tang Monk’s flesh in the eyes of the gods.
“Even if you want it, I won’t give it to you,” Leticia snorted, not willing to give up her body so easily. “It’s the offspring of those who released you before. Is my sincerity enough?”
This wasn’t referring to Mo Zili, but her sister, Miss Mo Ziling.
The term “offspring” was debatable, but she did indeed have the bloodline of that group of people within her, and she was created precisely to be possessed by a god.
That madman’s plan was to create a soulless body for a god to possess, but Leticia’s surprise attack seemed to have caused some deviation in his plan.
He was killed by Leticia before he could finalize the plan, and whatever happened in the basement at the time resulted in the death of everyone in the basement, their flesh and blood merging to give birth to Mo Ziling.
Her body, should, possibly, be prepared for gods?
“Do you really want to negotiate with me?” the deity sneered. This young girl was the second most courageous she had ever seen. “Then, why should I accept your terms?”
“Because you have no other choice right now.” Leticia wasn’t annoyed; she knew she was in the advantageous position in this negotiation.
She had people coming to rescue her; that Bai guy would definitely not give up on her. But this god was different.
The divine artifact had already fallen into Leticia’s hands. Once Leticia was rescued, the god would face eternal imprisonment.
Please don’t doubt Leticia’s ability to hold a grudge; she was absolutely capable of sealing the divine artifact in a large rock, digging a pit tens of thousands of meters deep, and burying it.
“It’s either eternal imprisonment, or you can control your body and enjoy life. You choose,” Leticia said with an expression of extreme sincerity. “The world now is very different from the world you used to live in.”
…
In a world shrouded in darkness, a strange black hole appeared out of nowhere, and then, a maiden radiating starlight gracefully leaped out of the black hole.
She frowned and looked around. The profound darkness made it impossible for her to discern directions. The starlight on her body only managed to dispel the darkness within a few dozen centimeters, preventing her from stepping into any pits.
A bright silver chain was tied to her wrist. Once she found Leticia, she would use this chain to send a message, allowing Infernal outside to open a spatial portal at her location.
So, what she needed to do now was find Leticia.
The last time in the Fog God’s divine realm, Fog City, Bai Ling couldn’t sense Leticia’s aura at first. But later, when Leticia began to fight the Fog God in earnest, Bai Ling sensed the girl’s magical fluctuations.
This allowed her to determine Leticia’s location.
This time, it should be the same method. There was no reason why Fog City, which could block Bai Ling’s perception of Leticia, could also block Leticia’s perception of Bai Ling.
Bai Ling believed that Leticia could keenly sense her aura, and as long as she responded, finding Leticia would be quite simple.
Drawing her sword, Bai Ling took a deep breath and swung it in a random direction.
An arc of sword energy sliced through the darkness and flew into the distance. Bai Ling didn’t know how long the sword energy would fly or where it would land, but she felt that Leticia, who was somewhere unknown, should be able to sense the aura of this sword energy.
To be safe, she swung her sword in every direction, lest Leticia couldn’t sense it.
After doing all this, she sheathed her sword and stood still. This was the advice from Sasa and Infernal. In an unfamiliar divine realm, it was best to avoid any unnecessary movement to prevent stumbling into strange places.
For example, the core of the divine realm.
Encountering a deity with full health and full fury while walking would be unbearable for anyone.
So, until Leticia gave her response, Bai Ling felt it was best to stand still and not move.
…
“Damn it, is that Bai person trying to kill me?” Leticia grumbled to herself, rolling on the ground somewhat awkwardly as she watched the departing sword energy.
If she hadn’t reacted quickly, that sword energy would have hit her squarely.
“Your darkness can’t even weaken sword energy? That’s too pathetic!”
“Heh, I didn’t expect your friend to arrive so quickly,” the deity said angrily, without directly answering Leticia’s words.
She had just noticed that a mouth had been forcibly opened in her divine realm, and someone had entered, carrying an aura she could never forget.
That fellow tribesman, the one who had helped that mortal push her back into her divine realm.
Was she going to ruin her plans again?
“Her decisiveness did surprise me a bit,” Leticia commented that she herself didn’t expect Bai Ling to arrive so quickly. She thought she could have completed a full round of verbal attacks.
As a result, Bai Ling’s sword energy directly interrupted her conversation with the deity.
“Oh, and have you considered my suggestion? If you don’t agree, I’ll bury you after I get out.”
“You’re threatening a god?”
“No, I’m just trying to persuade you one last time.” Leticia sat up from the ground, dusting off her skirt. “After all, you are a god, and getting your help would be something I’m very happy about.”
As she spoke, she pointed the umbrella given to her by Flora towards the direction from which the sword energy had come and began to charge up.
A ball of white light slowly condensed at the tip of the umbrella. Leticia struck a narcissistic pose before shooting the light ball out.
A dazzling beam of light shot into the distance. Leticia continued to pour out magic for a full ten seconds before stopping, believing that such a long beam of light would be enough to guide Bai Ling to her location.
“I’m heading towards this spot now. If you agree, tell me. If you don’t agree before I leave, I’ll assume you don’t want to cooperate with me,” Leticia said, placing her parasol back on her shoulder, addressing the deity whose true body was located somewhere unknown.
The deity fell silent. Leticia’s attitude annoyed her, but the girl’s offer made her a little tempted.
After crouching in this dark place for so long, she did want to see what the outside world was like. However, as a deity, she had her own principles.
At least, she wasn’t interested in Mo Zili’s body. Her forceful control of Mo Zili’s body late last night was to drag Leticia, whom she found extremely displeasing, into her divine realm to deal with personally.
But she hadn’t expected Leticia to be so calm, entering a state of “if the enemy doesn’t move, I won’t move” as soon as she entered the divine realm.
If Leticia didn’t walk to the place where the god was imprisoned, the god truly had no way to deal with Leticia, and could only engage in verbal battles, corrupting Leticia’s spirit.
However, the deity was quite poor at eloquence. After a day of verbal sparring, Leticia was fine, but the deity herself became somewhat wavering.
Last night, Mo Zili’s teacher had a brief contact with ‘Mo Zili,’ and at that time, the deity knew that ‘Mo Zili’s’ body was qualified for the descent of a god’s consciousness.
Although the bloodline’s purity was insufficient to break the seal, it was enough for a god’s consciousness to briefly reside.
Should she get lost in endless loneliness again, or should she temporarily bow her head and accept Leticia’s terms? The deity was truly conflicted.
To be honest, her ambitions weren’t that great; ruling the entire world was just a thought.
During the Age of Gods, she wasn’t a particularly powerful god, and in terms of combat power, she couldn’t compare to those great gods.
Ten thousand years ago, she clashed with the first Demon King of the demon race because she wanted to rule the demon realm, and the Demon King also wanted to rule the demon realm, which led to the conflict.
If it happened again, she might make a different choice.
Perhaps if they had talked amicably back then, they both could have achieved a better future.
“If you want to cooperate with me, then show me if you have the qualifications,” although somewhat tempted, the deity’s baseless pride was still at play, and she needed to find a way to save face. “Defeat the dark dragon in that place, and I’ll agree to your terms.”
The darkness receded, and a faintly glowing path appeared at Leticia’s feet, pointing her in the right direction.
