Chapter: Chapter 295
“That’s good that I woke up.” Leticia smiled and patted her sister’s head, saying to the slightly unhappy girl, “I had a very special dream and met a very special person.”
“Oh?” Kira’s eyes flashed with curiosity. Something her sister evaluated as special must be quite noteworthy.
Leticia nodded. Although she couldn’t remember a large part of it, she wouldn’t forget that colorful girl.
Given her appearance and words at that place, Leticia had reason to believe she had just had a close encounter with a deity.
“I might have met the mastermind,” Leticia said, jumping out of bed and addressing her stunned sister. “Help me connect with Bai Ling, I’m going to wash up.”
“Oh, okay.” Kira quickly nodded. She was indeed a bit surprised by what Leticia had just said, but when she thought about her sister’s personality, she found it normal.
Anything strange happening around the Demon Lord was nothing to be surprised about, right?
Kira opened her sister’s computer and quickly contacted Bai Ling. Seeing the girl on the screen, whose complexion was much better than yesterday, Kira smiled and greeted her, “Good morning, Sister Bai.”
“Good morning, Kira, but I don’t think it’s morning time anymore.” Bai Ling looked out the window. The bright sunlight told her that it was definitely not early morning.
“Haha, I guess so.” Kira scratched her head. Since her sister was still washing up, she figured a few words with Sister Bai wouldn’t hurt. “Sister Bai, have you met the person my sister introduced you to?”
“Yes, I have.” Bai Ling nodded. She had met the white-haired woman around dusk. The moment she saw that woman, she felt that Leticia hadn’t set her up this time.
Although the woman’s appearance was plain (compared to Bai Ling’s), she exuded a dependable adult aura. To put it bluntly, Bai Ling even felt that this woman was more reliable than Leticia.
Their exchange was also extremely brief and to the point. The woman asked Bai Ling a few questions, and after Bai Ling answered them one by one, the woman nodded, leaving behind the words “I will find her,” and left alone.
What was she going to do? Bai Ling didn’t know, but her intuition told her that the woman was going to do something important.
With a deity expert in action, Bai Ling had slept soundly last night, and her good complexion today was also due to this sleep.
“Leticia found the right person this time.” Bai Ling’s expression seemed somewhat relaxed, but it quickly turned serious again. “The number of people who didn’t wake up last night has increased again. I suspect the mastermind is accelerating their pace.”
“Isn’t that normal? You can’t expect her to stand still and wait for us to catch up.” Leticia, who had finished washing up, yawned as she walked out of the bathroom. She nudged Kira with her elbow and said to her good sister, “Help me buy some breakfast, your sister is starving to death.”
Kira glared at Leticia, feeling that her sister was deliberately trying to get rid of her.
But, who could deny that she herself was a super considerate sister’s sister? Since her sister didn’t want her to disturb her and Sister Bai’s private time, she would obediently listen to her sister and go buy her something to eat.
However, Kira couldn’t guarantee what kind of breakfast would be bought. It was so late now, normal breakfast would definitely be unavailable, right?
Therefore, even if Kira brought back some strange breakfast, Leticia would just have to accept it.
Of course, Kira wasn’t a devil. What she brought back for her sister was definitely edible.
“I think that brat has some mischievous ideas in mind. I feel like Kira is getting more and more impudent these days.” Leticia muttered softly after watching her sister leave.
“It’s good for a younger sister to be a bit lively, isn’t it?” Bai Ling said with a smile to Leticia. “You contacted me so early, is there something important?”
“It’s not early, it’s almost nine o’clock. I do have some sense of time.” Leticia rolled her eyes, spread her hands, and a mass of magic emerged from her palm, which she controlled to form the shape of a girl. “Last night, I should have come face to face with the mastermind.”
“What?! Are you alright?” Upon hearing what Leticia said, Bai Ling immediately became agitated. She completely ignored the little figure Leticia held in her hand and very worriedly asked about Leticia’s condition.
For Miss Bai’s concern, Leticia coughed lightly and said ungraciously, “I’m sitting here talking to you, do you think I’m alright? Besides, we’re on a video call, can’t you tell if I’m alright?”
Bai Ling’s face turned red. What Leticia said made a lot of sense; she seemed to have been a bit too hasty.
“The quality of your webcam isn’t very good, I can’t see clearly!”
When did this guy learn to be stubborn? Leticia raised an eyebrow. Miss Bai was getting worse and worse at learning.
Forget it, this wasn’t an important matter. Leticia pointed at the magic doll she was holding with some dissatisfaction and asked Bai Ling, “So, can you put your attention on this, okay?”
“Oh, okay.” Bai Ling quickly responded obediently. “Is this the culprit?”
The doll Leticia held in her palm was still quite beautiful, but unfortunately, her features were unclear. However, the extremely eye-catching colorful long hair was retained.
“Most likely. I can’t be sure if the person I met is real. It’s possible it was just a dream.” Leticia scratched her head in distress. The things she dreamt about were too unreliable, and she couldn’t be sure that this colorful girl was the dream god.
Even if she looked quite intelligent.
“Well, I’ll keep this appearance in mind for now. It might be useful later.” Bai Ling nodded. Regardless of how much Leticia doubted her own guess, she believed Leticia.
“You guy, think for yourself. After I’m gone, no one will help you think.” Leticia said helplessly, then suddenly seemed to remember something and asked Bai Ling, “Are there any of the people who have fallen asleep who used to run coffee shops or restaurants?”
“Coffee shops? Restaurants?” Bai Ling was stunned by the question. She couldn’t quite recall. “I’ll go find the information, wait for me.”
After speaking, the white-haired girl hurried away from Leticia’s sight.
This speed of action seemed a bit too outrageous.
“Sister, your breakfast is here.” By the time Kira came back with a bag of buns, Leticia still hadn’t received Bai Ling’s information.
“Oh, put it aside. I’ll eat it when I have time.” While waiting for Bai Ling to return, Leticia hadn’t been idle. She was diligently drawing the appearance of the girl she saw in her dream on the computer.
She couldn’t remember most of what happened in the dream, but the memories closest to her awakening were carefully recorded by Leticia.
Although there were still some forgotten details, and as time went on, she might forget more and more, so Leticia had to hurry to draw the girl in her memory and preserve it.
So that she wouldn’t fail to recognize the original owner after meeting her and let her escape.
“Is Sister drawing? Hmm, isn’t the hair color too flamboyant?” Kira walked behind her sister and tiptoed to peek. “Such a garish color scheme looks so strange, it’s not the type that would appear in reality.”
“It’s indeed not from reality. This girl is the mysterious person I met in my dream.” Leticia stared intently at the colored portrait on the computer. Her drawing skills weren’t good, but thanks to some cheat methods, the portrait on her computer didn’t deviate much from her memory.
It wouldn’t reach the embarrassing situation where the drawn person was completely different from the person in memory.
“Oh, it’s a deity. Then this color scheme is quite normal.” Knowing that this might be the dream god, all of a sudden, Kira felt that the drawing was fine. After all, it was a deity, so having some special characteristics was quite normal.
This deity had colorful hair, Infino had golden chains wrapped around her body, and Netherworld, this guy was the most outrageous, hiding a bunch of wriggling grotesque things under his skirt.
It seemed like deities had to have such un-human-like appearances to be considered deities.
“It’s hard to say if it’s a god or not. It’s possible your sister had a dream and accidentally mistook something in the dream for a deity.” Leticia hit her sister’s head somewhat irritably. “Also, are those steamed buns you bought some kind of devilish dish?”
“Sister, do you believe your sister? Am I that kind of person?” Kira immediately became unhappy. She picked up the buns she had placed aside and brought them to Leticia’s mouth. “If you don’t believe me, sister, just take a bite yourself.”
It wouldn’t kill her anyway.
“No, I refuse. Kira, you definitely have a plot.” The more Leticia thought about it, the more she felt something was wrong. There was absolutely something fishy about these buns, and she couldn’t eat them, she absolutely couldn’t eat them.
“Eat, Sister, eat quickly. I’m your own sister, would I trick you?” The more Leticia refused, the more excited Kira became. She held the buns in her hand and tried her best to stuff them into her sister’s mouth.
Leticia tightly closed her mouth, for fear of letting Kira succeed and stuffing the buns into her mouth.
Her sister’s uncharacteristic behavior had raised Leticia’s guard to its highest level.
“Are you really sure there’s no problem? Kira, I’m telling you, it’s not a time for jokes.” Finally, under her sister’s persistent pestering, Leticia relented. If she didn’t take a bite, she feared she wouldn’t have a peaceful day.
When did her usually cool sister become so… well, clingy?
Alas, although this Kira was much better than the previous ice queen, to Leticia, the current Kira seemed a bit too active.
She couldn’t handle it, she couldn’t handle it anymore.
“Of course, how could I harm my sister?” Kira said with a smile, holding the bun to her sister’s mouth, smiling like a beauty about to feed her husband arsenic.
Leticia immediately shivered. She suddenly became hesitant to take a bite. But her sister had already brought the bun to her mouth. Whether she poked her head out or retracted it, it was a stab. She might as well take a bite.
Perhaps, perhaps Kira wasn’t up to anything?
With the mindset of “Though thousands of people may stand in my way, I will go,” Leticia opened her mouth and took a bite of the bun with a look of resignation.
Hmm, sweet? Red bean paste bun?
Leticia’s eyes lit up. Red bean paste buns were her favorite. She didn’t expect Kira to buy her one.
“How is it, delicious?” Kira asked with a smile, resting her chin on her hand. “It was a bun shop I found with great difficulty.”
“Delicious.” Leticia nodded madly. It seemed that this time, she had really misunderstood Kira. Her sister was still a good sister, and she had been overthinking it. “I misunderstood Kira, I’m sorry.”
“Hmph, such a light apology can’t comfort a sister’s injured heart. You’ll have to work hard for a month when we get back, understand?” Kira said with a smile.
“Please allow me to refuse, only this matter is impossible.” Leticia’s expression changed immediately. She wanted to slack off, she didn’t want to work. Whoever wanted to be the Demon Lord could be it, but she wouldn’t.
“Sister, can’t you pick up a little of your old diligence?”
“No, I just want to slack off. My life is over.” Leticia retorted righteously. “Let diligence be for the latecomers.”
“Provided there are latecomers. Then when we get back, Sister, you’ll go on blind dates.” Kira said with narrowed eyes.
Before Leticia could respond to this, Bai Ling, who had just finished looking up the information, spoke somewhat impatiently.
“Well, at least wait a moment. Perhaps the spatial channel will be restored soon.” Bai Ling’s voice came from the computer.
She was afraid that the spatial channel would inexplicably recover one day, and when she happily found Leticia, she would discover that Leticia had already become the mother of several children (or father?), wouldn’t that be awkward?
Anyway, Leticia had a long lifespan. Waiting for ten or so years should not be a problem, right?
Cough, cough, of course Bai Ling wouldn’t say such things openly. She just hoped that Leticia could understand her meaning.
But Leticia had no interest in this topic. She just wanted to say to these two girls with their own thoughts, “Scram, scram, scram.”
“Let’s talk about business. Bai Ling, how is the thing I asked you to check?”
