“You can sense that?”
“Although rare, in the life I can no longer see the beginning of, such situations have occurred.” Gin smiled, signaling to Leticia not to be so nervous. “Don’t worry, I have no intention of avenging that fellow clansman. Being killed because you’re not as skilled is something no one can fault.”
Besides, Gin was completely unfamiliar with the aura Leticia possessed. She might have only met the unfortunate individual who was eliminated a few times, and even then, it was just a brief glimpse from afar during past divine gatherings.
Since that god was already dead, Gin had no interest in avenging her. If you’re weak, don’t blame others.
“I came here to exchange some information with you, information you might not be fully aware of.”
Hearing this, Leticia showed a thoughtful expression. The silver-haired girl before her indeed showed no hostility. She was willing to listen to what this god had to say.
However, before that, she wanted to ask this girl a question, “Why were you there last night? What was in that truck that made a god like you personally intervene, even to the point of losing a body?”
“I don’t know,” Gin answered bluntly.
“Is that your sincerity?”
“Actually, I’m not lying, because I really don’t know what that thing is. I just sensed its existence, and I sensed that it would have a significant impact on me, and on us.” Seeing Leticia’s displeasure, Gin quickly added. It wasn’t that she wanted to hide information, but she genuinely didn’t know what was attracting her.
She had fled to this central city. Her subordinates had no influence in the central city, and the organization she had just established cooperation with had entered a period of dormancy. How could she possibly know what that thing was through normal channels?
After all, the secrecy level of that item was ridiculously high. Even the S-class heroes of the Hero Association and the soldiers escorting the white truck didn’t know what it was.
If Gin knew, it would mean there was an insider at the highest levels of the central city, an insider on the same level as Sang Zhitong.
“So, it was intuition?” Leticia rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache coming on. The reason was somewhat plausible, but she really didn’t trust this silver-haired girl.
“Precisely, intuition. Of course, we prefer to call it a premonition.” Gin said with a smile. The premonitions of gods were almost never wrong. If a premonition indicated something bad would happen, then something bad would happen, with an accuracy rate of almost 100%.
“Alright, I accept your explanation for now.” Leticia didn’t expect to get much information. Things that Bai Ling wouldn’t even tell her were almost impossible to get from others. “What next? What do you want to tell me?”
“Something about us.”
“Us? I’m a demon, a pure-blooded one.” Leticia immediately corrected Gin. She was different from these gods.
Although she had divine blood flowing in her veins, after so much time, the content of that divine bloodline had likely diluted to a very low level.
“When you killed a god with your own hands, you already became one of ‘us’. If I’m not mistaken, you are currently troubled by a seal.” Gin chuckled and casually stated the major problem that was troubling Leticia. “Actually… your current state is not much different from mine.”
“It’s very different…”
“The essence of your life has already undergone a transformation. I can tell you responsibly that even if this body of yours is destroyed, you will not die.” Gin pointed at Leticia’s head with a faint smile. “If I’m not mistaken, the god you killed was a mental-type god. If your body is destroyed one day, you only need to hide in the spiritual world to avoid the storm.”
In the spiritual world, a mental-type god was invincible. Even an enemy god of the same mental type couldn’t easily find a mental-type god who was hiding with all their might.
“Uh, the god I defeated was probably a dream controller.”
“Oh, then you’re quite lucky.” A hint of surprise flashed across Gin’s face, as if she hadn’t expected Leticia to have defeated a god of dreams. “It seems my fellow clansman made many, many mistakes, otherwise she wouldn’t have been killed like this.”
The dream world was a part of the spiritual world, but not entirely. For a god who controlled dreams to be killed, either they didn’t have time to escape into the dream world, or they were ambushed while escaping. In either case, it was a major mistake.
“Your current state is similar to when we were just born. You can actually do anything, but you need to remember how to use those abilities.” Gin changed the subject, seeming unwilling to discuss that embarrassing clansman any further. “I can’t help you with this, after all, I am a pure space god and know nothing about dreams.”
Understood, the major didn’t match, Leticia didn’t expect much advice from Gin. She was still surprised that she had already become a god.
But, she didn’t react much. Wasn’t it just changing from a demon to a god? She didn’t care.
After all, she had turned from a human into a demon in the first place. Now, turning from a demon into a god didn’t seem unacceptable. Leticia had always been indifferent about her race; she was never a racist.
Besides, changing from a demon to a god, wasn’t that an enhancement? Looking at the gods Leticia had encountered so far, apart from lacking freedom, their average combat power was outrageously high.
This race was a pure buff. As long as the seal could be broken, it was a complete enhancement without side effects. How could Leticia refuse such an evolution?
Then, Gin’s words made Leticia overturn her previous thoughts, “It’s just that this current world is not suitable for gods like us to survive.”
“Compared to ancient times, the current world is so fragile. I don’t even know what happened during the time we were sealed. In the past, the world had countless giant creatures, but now, only some gaudy giant creatures remain…”
Through Gin’s introduction, Leticia roughly understood what the world was like in the past. It was an extremely vast world, much larger than the combined worlds of humans, demons, elves, and beastfolk present. And the beings living in that world were all sorts of mythical creatures, unimaginably powerful and ferocious.
They fought on sight, and a single fight could last a month. Moreover, the aftermath of the battles could even destroy a smaller continent.
“But they’ve all disappeared now?” Just hearing this description, Leticia felt how terrifying the power of those ancient creatures was, a power she couldn’t match now.
When she fought with Bai Ling, it could at most last half a day. After half a day, either her demonic power would be exhausted, or Bai Ling would be exhausted. And the aftermath of their serious battles could at most destroy a city. Compared to the monsters of ancient times, this destructive power was vastly inferior.
“Yes, they have all disappeared. There are some wild monsters here that might have their bloodlines, perhaps they have also degenerated.” Gin let out a sigh. “I don’t know how long I slept. When I regained consciousness and tried to contact the outside world, I thought I had arrived in a new world.”
The newly awakened Gin simply couldn’t connect the impoverished world before her with the world where gods were everywhere and demigods were less than dogs. If the world’s fundamental aura hadn’t remained unchanged, she would have truly thought she had arrived in a new world.
“In fact, our strength has been limited by this world. My original self could easily tear open a spatial rift the size of a city, but now I’m even being forced not to use teleportation by your spatial confinement.”
“You’re facing the world’s strongest mage, can you give me some face?” Leticia felt Gin was being a bit passive-aggressive, making Leticia seem very weak.
Gin rolled her eyes unceremoniously. “Firstly, I am the god of space. My authority is to control space. Is it reasonable for a god who controls space to be sealed and have their abilities restricted by a spatial confinement cast by a non-god existence?”
It wasn’t very reasonable, Leticia answered in her mind.
But she was someone who could fight the dream god head-on in the dream world, so perhaps it was somewhat reasonable for her.
“We’re getting sidetracked. Do you have any other questions? I’ll do my best to answer whatever I can.”
“Since you are the god of space, can you open spatial rifts between worlds?” Upon learning that Gin was a space-type god, Leticia’s mind became active.
A god of space must be able to open spatial passages, right?
This question seemed to have surprised Gin. She frowned, thought for a moment, and then nodded slightly, “Not yet.”
Not yet, but that means later?
“You’ve probably guessed, I only recently arrived in the central city. As for why I came back here…” Gin paused, a hint of anger appearing on her face. “I was driven here.”
A god was driven to the central city? Leticia’s eyes widened, and then she immediately thought of something that happened not long ago.
The Divine Throne had mobilized all the power in the central city and thrown it into the western battlefield. And according to that white-haired woman, the disappearance of the world channels was due to the god of the force on the western battlefield.
Hmm, a god who could affect world channels, a god who was defeated a month ago. Leticia’s gaze gradually changed. She seemed to have found the culprit who prevented her from returning.
“The world channels disappeared because of you, didn’t you!” Leticia glared at Gin angrily.
“How was I supposed to know opening a spatial barrier would cause this situation? Besides, I was being attacked by several clansmen at that time. Without a shield, I wouldn’t even have had a chance to escape.” Gin defended herself in a small voice, her gaze flickering. “Don’t worry, the disappearance of the spatial channels is only temporary. According to my calculations, they will reappear in five years.”
Five years?!
Leticia became even more enraged. Five years could change so many things!
“Can you make them appear faster?”
“If I do it myself, I should be able to force open a channel directly. Of course, it will take at least another six months. I don’t have that ability for the next six months.” Gin immediately replied, realizing there might be common ground for cooperation between them. “However, tearing open one opening requires me to consume a body, and my body stock is insufficient now. I’ll run out of bodies even before six months, perhaps within a month.”
The implication was clear: you need to find a solution quickly. Without a body, I can’t help you.
Coincidentally, Leticia did have a way to create bodies for Gin.
Not long ago, Bai Ling had complained to Leticia that Gin’s bodies were made using demon alchemy techniques. Leticia, as a Demon King, had some understanding of alchemy. While she might not be able to create anything advanced, creating some disposable items was simple.
“You’ve come to the right person. I can help you create bodies.” Leticia showed a cunning smile. “However, what price are you willing to pay for my help?”
“That depends on what you need,” Gin blinked excitedly. She knew this trip would yield great rewards, and her premonition was indeed correct.
Thinking of this, she remembered something else. “By the way, try not to reveal your divine identity. Those blasphemers have noses sharper than dogs. If they target you, you’ll have no peace.”
Blasphemers? Leticia looked at Gin’s gritted teeth expression and roughly guessed who she was referring to.
Without a doubt, it had to be the Divine Throne.
“Actually, my relationship with them isn’t bad. I’ve cooperated a few times before.” Leticia didn’t intend to hide her relationship with the Divine Throne. It was better to disclose such things from the beginning to avoid future problems with their cooperation. “Their attitude towards me, how should I put it, is a bit ambiguous.”
“Tsk, so it turns out only I am being targeted?” Gin’s expression stiffened. She hadn’t expected the Divine Throne and Leticia’s relationship to be so good. “Are you one of them?”
“No, actually, I don’t like them either. They’re too mysterious. If you want to see them make a fool of themselves, I’ll support you with both hands and feet.”
