Chapter: Chapter 397
By eliminating them, well, wasn’t the only poor soul present who could be a scapegoat screened out?
“Alright, I hope your plan succeeds.” Without thinking for too long, Black Mist nodded and agreed to Silver’s proposal.
Anyway, she was only leaving an avatar here, so it didn’t matter if it was drained. Avatars were easy to create if one put their mind to it.
“If it fails, you won’t lose much, will you?” Silver rolled her eyes. Black Mist’s main body was hundreds of thousands of miles away, so the avatar’s demise wouldn’t affect the main body so far away.
It was different for her and Leticia. Although Silver’s main body was hidden in a pretty safe place by herself, she couldn’t bet on whether that crystal lotus had the ability to find her hidden main body. If it really was found, then Silver would really have to consider how to proceed with her second round of running away.
As for Leticia, she was the real heavyweight, a direct manifestation of her main body. If this plan failed, she would definitely be the first one to suffer.
“You can’t say that. Our plan will absolutely succeed, yes.” Leticia quickly interrupted Silver, lest this good sister say anything more ominous. “Without further ado, let’s get started!”
“Okay, then you follow me. Leticia, you stay here with this Sword Saint. Don’t panic in any situation; it’s all normal.” Silver stood up and gestured for Black Mist to come with her. Reaching the edge of the room, Silver extended her hand to Black Mist. “Transfer your energy to me; I need to draw a sufficiently large spatial array.”
“How large is sufficiently large? I must warn you beforehand, the energy remaining in my avatar isn’t much. If you want to draw a very large array, the energy I provide might not be enough.” As she spoke, Black Mist took out a small black tube from her body and deftly plugged it into Silver’s shoulder. “This transmission method is more convenient and faster.”
Silver shook her head helplessly. It seemed she was indeed a bit outdated, but now wasn’t the time to dwell on such things. She leaned down, and the spatial power that had been tightly sealed was now pried open a small gap by Black Mist’s energy. Although not much could be used, for Silver, this little bit of power was enough to create miracles.
Placing her hands on the floor, bright silver light bands spread out from Silver’s hands. That crystal lotus seemed to have guessed something, but it didn’t react; it seemed indifferent to Silver’s actions.
‘You think a crudely made mirror space can block my actions? Naive, truly naive!’
The mirror space isn’t meant to block your actions, but to leave you no time to react to the incoming attack. Of course, Silver wouldn’t say such things. She simply closed her eyes, gradually perfecting the bright silver array that had already covered the entire top floor. As a god of space, Silver did not disgrace this title. In less than a minute, she had drawn an almost perfect spatial array, and now it was time to activate it.
“The experience of this teleportation might not be very pleasant. Please bear with us, ladies.” Silver raised her hand and slammed it onto the array. Brilliant bright silver light illuminated the entire room. When the silver light dissipated, Leticia, Bai Ling, and that crystal lotus had all disappeared.
After the crystal lotus was sent to the mirror space, both Silver and Black Mist felt their powers recovering. It seemed that the lotus couldn’t debuff them across a mirror space. This was great news. Silver had already prepared for the worst-case scenario, which was that her powers wouldn’t recover even after the lotus was sent away. In that case, she would have to continue drawing energy from Black Mist to tear open a spatial rift before the divine seat’s long-range attack arrived.
If luck was against her, Silver had even planned to sacrifice this body. After all, Black Mist’s condition at the moment didn’t inspire much confidence. After having a lot of energy drawn by Silver, Black Mist had become extremely thin, even revealing a black core hidden in the center of her body. Destroying this core would destroy this avatar. If not for her extremely poor condition, Black Mist wouldn’t have exposed her core like this.
Now, their powers had recovered, Silver no longer needed Black Mist’s energy, and Black Mist had a chance to breathe and recover.
“There are three minutes left. I hope they can last for three minutes in the mirror space,” Silver muttered softly. She watched the red dot rapidly approaching on the tablet, even silently chanting, “Faster, faster.”
“Three minutes, they should be able to hold on.” Black Mist was straightforward. Her core was still faintly visible, and she was still a distance away from recovering her combat power. This battle had little to do with her anymore.
Can they hold on? That’s a good question. At least for Leticia now, it was a very good question. She felt she might not be able to hold on.
Silver’s teleportation magic had transferred everything in the entire top floor at once, including the metal weapons controlled by the crystal lotus. Moreover, she didn’t know if the commotion of this teleportation was too great, but the barrier that enveloped the crystal lotus had disappeared silently just like that! Things were bad now. The crystal lotus wasn’t human, and its resistance to the disorientation of spatial teleportation was extremely high. While Leticia and Bai Ling were still seeing stars, it had already controlled the metal to tear apart the machine it was in and rescue itself from that small confinement.
‘Human, you and I should not be enemies.’ After regaining freedom, the crystal lotus’s first words were to Bai Ling. ‘You shouldn’t believe the honeyed words of gods. They are all hopeless bastards.’
“I only believe what I see. For me now, you are the enemy.” Bai Ling touched her forehead, her expression firm. To try to persuade her with such words was impossible!
‘I will not kill you. Everyone makes mistakes. I only hope that you will reflect on your mistakes later.’ The crystal lotus did not seem disappointed by Bai Ling’s answer. It stretched its magnificent body made of metal, its voice gradually rising, “Now, open your eyes wide and watch how the gods fall!”
As its declaration went out, the pair of white metal wings surrounding it flew out piece by piece. These metals had only one target: Leticia. This was not because the crystal lotus thought Leticia was the more threatening of the two present, but because it had never intended to attack Bai Ling.
Boom, boom, boom! Continuous explosions sounded behind Leticia. Within this mirror space, the crystal lotus didn’t need to worry about its attacks hurting innocent bystanders. Before, it had to worry about how many people would be crushed if it attacked too heavily and overturned the house. But here, she didn’t have to worry about that.
Seeing Leticia being chased so miserably by the crystal lotus’s attacks, Bai Ling quickly waved her sword to block some of the metal feather blades for Leticia. In a few short clashes, Bai Ling realized that her opponent had changed. Those seemingly light feather-like metals joined together, transforming into several huge greatswords.
‘Let me see how strong you are.’ The crystal lotus dropped this sentence and divided some of the surrounding metal to replenish the metals intercepted by Bai Ling. Her goal was to eliminate Leticia. She would not change her target priority just because Bai Ling stood in her way. Leaving enough metal to protect her main body and sending out all the metal that could be sent to pursue, this was her choice.
This decision almost made Leticia curse out loud. Her current combat power was no match for Bai Ling’s, and the enemy they were facing was also no match for them! While Bai Ling was pushing back the several greatswords, there was nothing she could do quickly to deal with those heavy iron blocks. Every time she wanted to abandon these sandbags, these greatswords would launch a simultaneous offensive with great spirituality, keeping Bai Ling in place. Fighting against an enemy that was an inanimate object without fatigue was the most boring thing, with no feedback at all. Negative emotions arose in Bai Ling’s heart, and the sword in her hand swung a little faster. She didn’t know if Leticia could hold on.
Leticia couldn’t hold on, but she had to. These pursuing metallic wings were undisputed killing machines. Leticia believed that if she was caught by these things, she wouldn’t even be able to utter a scream. Look at the tables and chairs blocking the path of these metals; they were directly ground into pieces by these metals. Would her body be harder than tables and chairs? Leticia didn’t want to dwell on this question. If she was already in a juicer, did it matter if she was an apple or an orange? Weren’t they all going to be squeezed into juice? Moreover, Leticia sensed a very dangerous energy fluctuation from the metals pursuing her. She didn’t know the specific effect of this fluctuation, but it directly told her that if she was killed by these metals, she could truly go to the underworld to have tea with Miss Dream God. She hoped that Miss Dream God would be generous enough to share a cup of tea with Leticia then.
“This thing is truly, purely designed to deal with gods.” Dodge out of the way of a sneak attack from behind, Leticia didn’t even have time to catch her breath. She quickly cast a few spells to generate obstacles and immediately left her original spot, continuing to flee. The next moment, the place where she had just been standing was pierced by several metal wings. If Leticia had stayed there for a moment longer, she would likely have successfully turned into Leticia-chan.
‘So slippery. When did gods have an anomaly like you?’
“You’re asking me? Who the heck am I supposed to ask!” Leticia retorted instinctively. “I don’t even know how I became a god!”
Leticia’s words clearly surprised the crystal lotus, and even the metals pursuing Leticia paused noticeably.
‘Impossible, humans cannot become gods. You’re trying to trick me!’
“Am I tricking you? What’s the point of tricking you now? I’ll tell you, I even personally killed a god, but not only did I not get any rewards, but I also got into such big trouble with you. I should have let that guy go. Anyway, she and I don’t have any deep enmity.” This was said out of anger. If Leticia’s relationship with the Dream God was not close, it could be described as mutual dislike. If there was a chance to kill each other, neither of them would hesitate.
‘…This is impossible.’ The crystal lotus, however, did not hear the falseness in these words. ‘I must confirm it personally.’ Half of the metals used to protect its main body were separated and joined the pursuit of Leticia. But this time, the targets of these metals had quietly changed. From turning Leticia into Leticia-chan, it changed to capturing Leticia alive. And, as expected, under the sharply increased pressure, Leticia’s calf was pierced by a feather blade. With her mobility greatly reduced, she had completely lost the chance to escape.
However, the crystal lotus did not continue to attack. It controlled the metal to lock Leticia’s limbs, completely sealing her ability to move, and then lifted her up to its front. Well, it should have a face, right?
‘If you dare to deceive me, I will let you know that death can sometimes be a release.’ A hint of ferocity appeared in the crystal lotus’s voice, and a long, needle-like piece of metal floated in front of Leticia and pierced heavily into the girl’s fair neck. A sword energy with extremely restrained radiance suddenly appeared behind the crystal lotus (temporarily taking Leticia’s position as the front). The crystal lotus immediately felt a strong sense of crisis. It might have to say gg if it took this sword head-on. Hastily controlling the metals to block its main body, this sword energy’s power far exceeded the crystal lotus’s expectations. Several layers of metal were crushed before the sword energy was barely blocked. Is this human a monster? Can such terrifying attacks really be unleashed by a human?
“Let her go.” In the mirror space, which was mainly gray, a magnificent starry sky appeared. The white-haired girl held her sword, she was the fulcrum of this starry sky. On her sword, a terrifying fluctuation that even the crystal lotus could not ignore surged.
‘You are over-exerting yourself! Why are you doing this for a god?!’
“Is that all you can say? In my eyes, she is Leticia, and she is just Leticia. It doesn’t matter if she’s a god or a demon king, as long as she’s still her!”
