“My heavens, what has happened while I was away? Leticia, can you explain how you managed to find two gods in just a few months?”
When Yin found Leticia relaxing in the northern territory of the beastmen, the Space God’s eyes nearly popped out of her head.
A Fenghuang and an Infino, she wouldn’t mistake the auras emanating from them. These were undoubtedly true gods, and true gods who had been freed from their seals!
She began to suspect that the flow of time might be different between the beastmen world and the human world. Otherwise, how could Leticia have accomplished such a shocking feat in such a short period?
She couldn’t understand it, no matter how much she used her imagination!
“It’s a long story, you can just consider it good luck for now,” Leticia said, enthusiastically taking Yin’s hand to introduce her to Fenghuang and Infino. “This is Fenghuang, the little one who inherited the Phoenix God position. She just recently emerged, and this is Infino, who is sort of my ancestor.”
“Not ‘sort of,’ you are my ancestor,” Infino said, crossing her legs and calmly taking a sip of tea. Her gaze lingered on Yin for a moment, a nostalgic expression gracing her face. “I’ve heard of your great name before, but I never expected to meet you here.”
This demeanor, this attitude – the familiar feeling returned! Yin felt as though she had been transported back to the ancient era of the gods countless years ago. Her posture straightened unconsciously, and her tone carried a hint of reserve. “That’s truly…”
But before she could finish her sentence, Fenghuang, who was beside her, leaned in and sniffed her closely.
“Eh?” Yin’s tail immediately stiffened. What was this little girl doing?
Were gods so bold these days?
“You have my scent on you, how strange.” However, Fenghuang meant no harm. She simply smelled her own aura on Yin.
Although it was faint, she could still perceive it.
But what was strange was that she was certain she had never met Yin before, nor was there any trace of this god in her memory. So, where did her own scent on Yin come from?
“It’s probably that little orange cat. Victoria’s seal should be related to Phoenix divine power.” After a few seconds of thought, Leticia smacked her palm, having found the key point.
Victoria bore marks of divine intervention, and the only god currently causing trouble among the beastmen was Fenghuang. Now that Fenghuang detected her own scent on Yin, the mystery was solved.
Yin’s current body was created using Victoria’s life force. Therefore, it was logical for Yin to carry Fenghuang’s scent.
So, all along, the culprit was Fenghuang. Leticia wondered why she had interfered with Victoria; perhaps as a food reserve?
“I don’t remember, perhaps,” Fenghuang shook her head and returned to Leticia’s side, affectionately hugging her arm.
But before she could hug for long, an unyielding iron hand gripped her by the scruff of her neck, pulling her away from Leticia.
Turning around, Fenghuang couldn’t help but shrink her neck. Miss Bai stood behind her, smiling with a dark aura.
Ever since being struck by Bai Ling’s sword last time, Fenghuang had become a little afraid of this “Elder Sister Bai,” fearing that she might be struck again at any moment. That sword strike had truly hurt!
Bai Ling also looked at Fenghuang with a hint of helplessness. She didn’t know why this little one was so attached to Leticia. Sometimes, her affectionate demeanor genuinely stirred a small sense of crisis within Bai Ling.
Although she knew Leticia wouldn’t develop genuine interest in a little girl like Fenghuang, it was better to be safe and pull Fenghuang a little away from Leticia.
“By the way, I’ve brought your sisters along this time as well. They are currently guests at the Bone Wing Tribe. You’ve been there before, right?” After the small talk, Yin brought up the main issue.
“Ah, yes, they’ve come too?” Leticia nodded. The Bone Wing Tribe was quite safe. With Yin and Xiaomi there, taking care of Kila and Xiao Ya should be very easy. “Never mind that for now, Yin. Can you open a passage to the elf world? I have an urgent matter to attend to in the elven realm.”
“The elven realm? That’s hard to say. I don’t have the specific coordinates for the elven world. Opening a stable passage might not be that simple,” Yin replied with a troubled expression. The reason she could open a passage to the beastmen world so quickly this time was because she had previously tracked Leticia’s movements.
Now, asking her to open a spatial passage to the elven world without any clues was a bit difficult.
Moreover, Yin was puzzled by Leticia’s urgency to go to the elven world. Was there something very important? Seeing Leticia’s serious expression, Yin was confused.
Normally, shouldn’t she be happily reuniting with her family and then returning to the human world for a peaceful life?
Leticia saw Yin’s confusion and sighed, briefly explaining the current situation to Yin: “…In short, I believe that person didn’t lie to me. Collecting the four prophecy books is imperative, and we can’t afford any delays now.”
“If possible, I’d actually like you to send Kila back to the Demon Realm to get the prophecy book from the Demon Realm. Then I’ll get the prophecy book from the elves, and finally, we’ll return to the human world, and have Bai Ling get the human prophecy book.”
This way, they could collect all four prophecy books in the shortest possible time.
“Alright, although I still don’t quite understand what’s going to happen, it’s definitely nothing good, right?” Yin’s cat ears twitched. A few words couldn’t fully explain the current situation, but she trusted that Leticia wouldn’t trick her. If she was making such a serious request for help, she must have encountered something very important.
“Yes, if it weren’t for the time constraint, I was planning to help you break your seal first.” Leticia sighed. It was a pity she didn’t know the specific materials needed to break Yin’s seal. Collecting them from scratch would likely be a difficult task.
Upon hearing the mention of breaking the seal, Yin’s expression shifted. It was clear that Leticia’s words had struck a chord with her, and she could tell that Leticia wasn’t lying!
Wow, what a great friend!
How could she not help? Even for the sake of her future free life, she had to help!
“Don’t worry, leave this to me. I guarantee I’ll find a passage for you within ten days!” Yin patted her chest, promising. “Our bodies are strong enough, we can even go through a slightly shoddy passage!”
This was the good thing about divine bodies – they were incredibly sturdy and durable. Spatial passages that would be impossible for ordinary people to traverse were easily passable for gods, and they wouldn’t suffer significant harm.
If it was just about finding a passage to the elven realm that gods could pass through, while still difficult, it could be accomplished in a short period.
“That would be wonderful!” Hearing Yin’s guarantee, Leticia’s mood improved greatly. “Oh right, can you bring a few more people?”
“Of course, you can. After the passage is found, a few more people can pass through. It’s just that while the initial passage will be fine for you to enter, it might be tricky for Miss Bai.” Yin’s gaze rested on Bai Ling for a moment. “Her combat strength is good, but her physical resilience can’t compare to yours. Passing through such an unstable spatial passage would be quite dangerous.”
Bai Ling’s physical defense had always been a well-known weakness. Upon being pointed out by Yin in this manner, her expression didn’t change much. She merely asked with some regret, “So, I can’t go with Leticia?”
Yin nodded, confirming Bai Ling’s statement. “That’s right. For your safety, I think it would be better for you to take your sister back to the human world… There are things you need to do there as well, aren’t there?”
“Are you talking about the prophecy book?” Bai Ling tilted her head.
She, Leticia, and Kila were splitting up to retrieve the prophecy books from the elves, humans, and demons simultaneously. By the time Leticia finished her task, she would likely have obtained the human prophecy book. This way, they could achieve the goal of collecting all the prophecy books in the shortest possible time.
“Half and half. Your sister holds many secrets. The restricting ability that can affect even gods – do you really think it’s just her talent?” Yin asked softly, stroking her chin. She didn’t believe Bai Ling was unaware of this.
As expected, Bai Ling looked thoughtful, clearly aware of her sister’s extraordinary talent.
“But she can’t actively control this ability…”
“Who said she can’t control it actively?” Yin’s eyes widened, her expression becoming incredulous. She thought Bai Ling knew her sister’s abilities well, but it seemed this elder sister knew even less about her own sister than she did.
During the months Leticia and Bai Ling were away, Yin had made considerable progress in developing Bai Ya’s abilities. Little Ya could now proactively seal all supernatural powers within a ten-meter radius.
Even gods who entered Little Ya’s vicinity had to obediently retract their fangs for the time being.
However, sealing a god’s power was a significant drain on Little Ya. Currently, Little Ya’s limit was ten seconds of sealing Yin’s abilities, which was quite impressive.
As for targets below the god level, it was much simpler. For example, Kila. Little Ya could seal her for a day without even breaking a sweat.
After detailing Little Ya’s progress during this period to a dumbfounded Bai Ling, Yin couldn’t help but feel a touch of schadenfreude. Look at your sister, she’s become like me now!
Hahahaha!
Ahem, back to the main topic. Yin didn’t believe a regular human could possess such an ability; it couldn’t be explained by superpowers at all.
Furthermore, Xiao Ya also had an older sister named Bai Ling. Miss Bai Ling, the strongest human, the Star River Sword Saint, was also an incredibly extraordinary existence. With a mortal body, she could rival gods. Her combat power alone was enough to suppress the entire human race.
Such a terrifying combat power gap was abnormal. Normally, if the human race had a super powerhouse like Bai Ling, there should be a few slightly weaker powerhouses below her.
However, the human race didn’t have such powerhouses. There was an incredibly terrifying gap between Bai Ling and other strong individuals. Those espers couldn’t even see Bai Ling’s back!
Some might say that Leticia was the same.
But Leticia’s situation was different from Bai Ling’s. The demon realm and the human realm were also different. The Demon King lineage, due to countless years of bloodline purification, already possessed unparalleled magical talent. Leticia was considered to have relatively good talent among the past Demon Kings, so it was normal for her to be stronger than her subordinates.
Moreover, before meeting Bai Ling, the demon realm’s strength hierarchy was normal, with powerhouses at various levels and no significant gaps between them.
This situation only changed after Leticia met Bai Ling. The demon realm now had a power gap because Leticia was too strong, surpassing previous Demon Kings by more than an order of magnitude.
But that was an accident, wasn’t it?
Who would have thought that one day a Demon King could snatch a god position from somewhere else!
“You sisters have too many secrets. I can’t believe you’re really just ordinary humans. When I go back this time, I want you to thoroughly investigate your background. There might be crucial clues within it,” Yin said seriously to Bai Ling.
Suddenly becoming the center of attention, Bai Ling scratched her head, looking conflicted. She also wanted to know her background, but she couldn’t find any leads.
Her parents in her memories had left home when she was young and never returned. Where could she find the secrets of her origins?
“I think you might find some clues at the Divine Seat. This kind of thing is likely related to them,” Yin suggested.
Whenever something inexplicable happened in the human race, blaming the Divine Seat was usually the right approach. Those who held multiple divine artifacts and even formed alliances with the gods within the artifacts were definitely not peaceful individuals.
Perhaps the Bai sisters were their early creations?
“I think this investigation direction is valid. However, the Divine Seat is a deep pool, so you must protect yourself if you investigate,” Leticia said, clapping her hands as she spoke to Bai Ling, who was deep in thought.
She also didn’t quite believe Bai Ling was just an ordinary human. Could an ordinary human possess such an overpowered combat strength? She didn’t believe it.
Now that Yin had provided a reasonable suspect, she would let Bai Ling try to investigate.
“But remember to get the prophecy book for me first. If you haven’t gotten it by the time I return from the elven realm, I’ll bite you to death!”
…
This volume will be quite substantial, and I’ll do my best to fill in the plot holes!
