Chapter: Chapter 7
“Miss Bai Ling’s appetite is truly terrifying.” Shier muttered to herself as she watched the almost completely cleared dining table after the Bai sisters had left.
“Just call her a glutton, no need to save her face,” Leticia snorted. “What a disaster, to encounter this troublesome person.”
“Is Miss Bai Ling the Star River Sword Saint?” At this moment, Shier finally found an opportunity to ask.
She had been guessing before, and Leticia’s reaction had basically confirmed Bai Ling’s identity to her, but guesses were still guesses; they were not as credible as Leticia’s direct admission.
“Yes, the Star River Sword Saint,” Leticia nodded. This was not something worth hiding from Shier.
If she was running away with Shier, didn’t that mean Shier was a trustworthy person in her heart?
“Then should we move?” Shier asked with concern.
The Star River Sword Saint and His Majesty had an irreconcilable relationship. When His Majesty was defeated by the Sword Saint a few years ago, he would spend his days pricking a wooden doll with a needle on which the Star River Sword Saint was written.
In His Majesty’s own words, this was called casting a spell.
Although Shier saw it as an impotent rage, it also showed from another angle Leticia’s deep hatred for Bai Ling.
However, regarding the suggestion to move, Leticia shook her head. “No, the most dangerous place is the safest place. If I leave here, I might be chased and killed with a single sword by this这家伙 [jiā huǒzi – this guy/fellow].”
But by continuing to live here, Bai Ya was equivalent to her immunity to death. Bai Ling couldn’t possibly chop her to death in front of her own sister, could she?
Based on the brief contact just now, Leticia could tell that Bai Ling was an incorrigible sister-complex. Could she make her sister sad?
Impossible.
As long as she held onto Bai Ya’s thigh, Leticia was sure she would have no threat to her life.
“Sigh, I’m a bit tired after playing all day. Shier, help me draw some hot water, I want to take a bath.”
“Yes.”
…
Standing in the misty bathroom, Bai Ling fell into thought. She was pondering a question: how to take a bath.
She had always used her superpowers to clean her body. In the almost non-stop battles, taking a bath with water was undoubtedly an extremely luxurious enjoyment.
And now, she was retired.
As an old friend put it, “You can live as an ordinary person, not as a hero of mankind. Superpowers are not the entirety of your life. Go and enjoy your life.”
Enjoy? She didn’t understand how to enjoy herself.
Money, she lacked nothing. As the strongest combat power of the human race, her monthly salary was a terrifying figure… or rather, money was just a number to her.
As long as she was willing, a single phone call could buy luxury cars and mansions that ordinary people wouldn’t even dare to imagine.
But it was meaningless.
Standing dazedly in front of the mirror, Bai Ling looked at her perfect body in the mirror without any ripples in her heart.
Before her sister pushed her in, she hadn’t told her how to take a bath, and now going out to ask felt somewhat embarrassing.
It was a strange thing for an elder sister to ask her younger sister how to take a bath, wasn’t it?
Moreover, Bai Ling didn’t want her image in her sister’s heart to become that of an ignorant societal dropout, so she couldn’t ask Bai Ya.
So what should she do?
Bai Ling’s gaze shifted to the floor. If she remembered correctly, the structure of Leticia’s house was almost identical to her own. Directly beneath her feet was the bathroom of Leticia’s house.
Leticia seemed to be very accustomed to life in the human world. If it weren’t for the faint trace of demonic energy around her, Bai Ling might have really doubted whether Leticia was human at all.
Since she was so accustomed to life in the human world, Leticia must surely know how to take a bath, right?
Bai Ling could sense that Leticia was directly beneath her feet. Perhaps she could go and ask her.
Short-distance teleportation was a trivial matter for Bai Ling. She lightly tapped the ground with her toes, and with a flash of white light, she disappeared from her spot.
A luxurious bathroom, completely different from the simple bathroom in her own home, appeared in Bai Ling’s view. She looked around and quickly found Leticia, who was soaking in the bathtub, wide-eyed and dumbfounded.
A little yellow duck floated on the shallow green, steaming hot water. The black-haired girl’s beautiful long hair was tied into two large buns, which surprisingly had a unique charm.
A wisp of scarlet slowly flowed from the girl’s small nose, causing some doubt in Bai Ling’s heart.
Was the Demon King injured?
“Are you injured?” Bai Ling walked up to Leticia, her voice filled with confusion.
“Injured? Not at all…” Leticia immediately shook her head. As she moved, the blood flowing from her nose was splashed into the water.
It was only then that Leticia realized she had a shameful nosebleed.
Quickly plugging her nose, Leticia turned her head away with some embarrassment and anger. “What are you doing here?”
Running into her bathroom naked, is this Sword Saint out of her mind?
