Chapter: Chapter 83
“The noodles at this shop taste good.” After the noodles were served, Bai Ling awkwardly slurped one, giving her evaluation, “Have you eaten here before?”
“No, I don’t usually go out.” Leticia was not so reserved. Her cheeks puffed out, and her muffled voice came from her mouth, completely disregarding the fact that it’s best not to speak with food in your mouth.
She just randomly picked a shop that looked pleasing to the eye. As for whether it was delicious or not, it was like drawing in a game; it all depended on luck.
The news about the elves on the television had passed, and now it was time for some internal human news.
Like an certain senator being caught fooling around in the red-light district, or how many bad guys the heroes had caught in the past few days.
Basically, it was all meaningless information.
“Your human infrastructure development is really good. Even I, a demon lord, feel envious and jealous,” Leticia mumbled softly after finishing her noodles in a small amount of time.
The demon realm’s infrastructure was probably around the medieval period before. Although there had been great progress after the world passages opened, it couldn’t compare to human modernization at all.
However, the current style of the demon realm also had its own unique charm. Leticia quite liked the buildings in the demon realm that were full of magical colors.
“Is the demon realm… very bad?” Bai Ling paused her noodle-eating. She had only visited the demon realm once, and that was to fight Leticia.
She had stayed for less than half a day, and the location was in the wilderness. She had not seen what demon cities looked like.
“It’s not bad, just very different from the human side,” Leticia shook her head. “You’re not going there, so what’s the point of telling you?”
“Maybe I’ll want to tour the demon realm someday?”
“Impossible. Given the current relationship between humans and demons, tourism is a dream. Even trade is considered a major breakthrough.” Leticia pouted. Although the war had ended, the pain caused by the conflict had far from ended.
“Don’t think about these pointless things. Hurry up and finish eating so we can go wait for the captain and the others at the agreed-upon place.”
Leticia forcefully ended the topic. Having been away for so many years, she didn’t know what the demon realm had become.
She believed Kira could manage the demon realm very well. Perhaps the current demon realm was already very different from the one she had led before.
Unlike humans, the difficulty of infrastructure development for demons was very, very low. With them being almost entirely mages, they could build a high-rise building in a single day.
“I’m still hungry,” Bai Ling said softly, staring at her empty noodle bowl.
“If you’re hungry, order one yourself.”
“Tch.”
“Even if you look at me with those eyes, I won’t be swayed!”
“Oh.”
And so, Bai Ling ordered another bowl of noodles.
After Bai Ling finished eating with a satisfied grunt, Leticia casually took out her phone and paid the bill.
Then, she suddenly remembered that she had paid for three bowls.
“Is this what the captain called tsundere?” Bai Ling stood next to Leticia, watching the girl’s unpredictable expression, and chuckled.
She had said so firmly, but in the end, she still politely treated her, didn’t she?
Leticia glared fiercely at Bai Ling, but her action made people involuntarily marvel at how cute the girl was.
Truly, in her current attire, Leticia had no oppressive aura whatsoever. That glare just now could only be described as adorably fierce.
“Give me back my money!” She extended her hand, asking Bai Ling for the money she had overpaid.
Bai Ling’s reaction, however, caught Leticia off guard. The white-haired girl reached out and took Leticia’s hand. “Let’s go, we’re short on time.”
As her hand was enveloped by Bai Ling’s warm and soft hand, Leticia’s face flushed a barely perceptible shade of red. “Let go!”
“No,” Bai Ling firmly refused Leticia’s request.
As she spoke, she even forcefully pulled Leticia towards the entrance.
In terms of strength, Leticia truly couldn’t compare to Bai Ling, a pure brute force user. She was a delicate and weak mage; how could she compare to Bai Ling, a human-shaped rampaging beast with tough skin?
And so, under the gaze of everyone in the shop exclaiming, “Ah, what a beautiful sight,” Leticia was dragged onto the street by Bai Ling.
“Why are you so shameless? You just casually hold other girls’ hands, aren’t you ashamed?” Once on the street, to avoid becoming the center of attention, Leticia had to give up resisting.
After settling down, a thought suddenly popped into her mind that being held by Bai Ling wasn’t so bad.
Bai Ling’s hand was very warm, and the skin on her palm was very delicate, not at all like a warrior who had been active on the battlefield for years.
“I want to do it, that’s all,” Bai Ling said a rather overbearing sentence. “I think I’ve fallen for you.”
“Go express your affection to someone else! I’m telling you here and now, I, Leticia, would rather be killed by you and jump off the central tower than fall for a pervert like you!” Bai Ling’s direct confession had no effect whatsoever; Leticia’s attitude remained as firm as ever.
When affection points are insufficient, Leticia’s defense is very, very terrifying. She can’t be easily broken down by a few words.
Arriving at the designated park, Leticia glanced at the time and realized they were a little early for their meeting. “Looks like we’re early.”
“Let’s go sit over there by the benches,” Bai Ling suggested.
“Alright.” Leticia didn’t object.
Since there were benches to sit on, why bother standing and torturing herself? There were vacant chairs under the shade of the trees, so it would be foolish not to sit.
Upon reaching the bench, Bai Ling reached out and felt the chair. Immediately, she frowned and said, “It’s a bit dirty.”
“That’s a simple matter that can be solved with a cleaning spell,” Leticia snapped her fingers, and the chair in front of her instantly became spotlessly clean.
Magic was so convenient at times like these.
After sitting on the chair, Bai Ling noticed that Leticia hadn’t sat down. Instead, she took out her phone and pointed it at her.
“Hmm?”
“I’m taking a picture for the captain, so she doesn’t recognize us when we get there,” Leticia explained, holding up her phone. Although she couldn’t send her own photo, Bai Ling’s would suffice.
“Don’t be so serious, relax a bit… I didn’t tell you to smile, change your expression back.”
Soon, Leticia finished taking the photo. After sending it to the captain and informing her of their current location, Leticia also sat down on the chair.
Of course, she maintained a considerable distance from Bai Ling.
