Chapter 1452: Revealed Upon Meeting
“Ah? That’s…” I hesitated. Older Brother Jayad probably hadn’t gotten used to his new body yet, and Bailing Ding and Elena were both Sword Masters with exceptionally coordinated bodies. They would definitely notice something was off with Older Brother Jayad at a glance, right?
“That! I just want to take a look and make sure he’s alright. Because Mr. Jayad suddenly didn’t show up last night and didn’t say anything, I was worried something might have happened to him!” Bailing Ding misunderstood, thinking I didn’t want her to see Older Brother Jayad, and even offered an explanation.
Girls’ intuition is indeed accurate. It just so happened that Older Brother Jayad *had* experienced something, and I didn’t want the two of them to know. What excuse could I possibly come up with?
Although Elena didn’t say anything, she also didn’t stop Bailing Ding or take her leave. Instead, she quietly watched me from behind, clearly indicating that she also wished to see Jayad.
Just as I was still contemplating what excuse to use to send them away, the main door suddenly opened, and Older Brother Jayad’s voice echoed out, “What are you all talking about at the doorway?”
It’s over. Older Brother Jayad actually came out himself. But after we’d been chatting at the door for so long, Older Brother Jayad must have already sensed it. As long as he and I were close, we could faintly feel each other’s presence.
“Miss Elena, Miss Bailing Ding, I was unable to attend the nightclub yesterday due to some personal matters. Could you please apologize to Mr. Safah on my behalf?” Jayad said, as he had indeed already figured out the purpose of the two women’s visit.
“Mr. Jayad! Hmm?” Bailing Ding, upon hearing Jayad’s voice, happily turned to look. But when she saw his figure, she froze. She asked with confusion, “Mr. Jayad, why are you wearing armor?”
“Oh, it’s just due to some accident. There’s nothing wrong with me,” Jayad said, pulling back the faceplate of his hawk-shaped helmet and revealing his face.
Seeing that it was indeed Jayad, Elena and Bailing Ding both let out a sigh of relief. But their gazes immediately focused on his fingers. Elena was the first to ask, “Mr. Jayad, what’s wrong with your fingers?”
Bailing Ding also stared intently at Jayad’s fingers. As a nimble-type Sword Master, she was very sensitive to finger coordination and could tell that Jayad’s finger movements were incorrect almost instantly.
Even though he wasn’t holding anything, his five fingers looked unaligned when simply extended, as if they were dislocated. This was the part Older Brother Jayad hadn’t coordinated well yet.
“Uh, it’s nothing, just a small matter. It’s precisely because my body has developed some issues that I didn’t go to the nightclub,” Jayad explained with a forced smile.
Unexpectedly, before the two women could react to Older Brother Jayad’s words, Amelia suddenly spoke up, “Young man, that’s not just a small issue. Your body has mutated so severely that it’s likely irreversible. I suggest you get it checked immediately, before it’s too late.”
I covered my head. I had almost forgotten that Amelia, a professional doctor, was by my side. Furthermore, she was straightforward and unaware of our situation, and she had blurted out the truth in one go.
Upon hearing Amelia’s words, Elena and Bailing Ding’s gazes immediately fixed on Jayad’s armor. Elena asked in a deep voice, “Is what she’s saying true?”
Older Brother Jayad knew he could no longer hide it and could only nod. “It’s true. I had an accident.”
“May we see it?” Elena’s tone was a request, but it was exceptionally firm. It was likely that even if refused, she would still try to observe it secretly. Bailing Ding also appeared very concerned and unwilling to back down.
“This isn’t the place to talk. Everyone, come inside,” I sighed and invited everyone in.
They all nodded. Thus, Elena, Bailing Ding, Amelia, and Samantha, four girls, entered my home. This factory villa probably hadn’t had so many girls visit for the first time.
Sherris was already asleep, so I had to make tea for the guests myself. There was still black tea from Mr. Zhang at home, so I brewed a pot, then brought out tea snacks arranged on a multi-tiered tray, and poured black tea for everyone. A makeshift afternoon tea party began.
However, the atmosphere now was less like a tea party and more like an interrogation. Everyone’s gaze was fixed on Older Brother Jayad, who was seated on one side of the round table.
Elena and Bailing Ding’s expressions were filled with worry and concern. Amelia, on the other hand, merely found it interesting. But what confused me was Samantha’s expression; it was one of reminiscence.
As if noticing me observing her, Samantha turned her head and said, “I smell something very similar to the scent of my homeland, and also some traces of my own kind.”
Bailing Ding had been holding back, maintaining her demeanor befitting an Eldest Miss and a guest. She sat properly and finished her tea snacks. Only then did she finally look at Jayad with concern and ask, “Mr. Jayad, what happened to you?”
“I can show you, but you must promise me not to tell any outsiders,” Jayad said after taking a sip of tea.
“Can’t even tell Master?” Elena asked. I could tell she seemed to understand Older Brother Jayad’s predicament. If Jayad said “even Master,” she would have taken her leave and not looked, because she wouldn’t keep anything from Safah.
But Jayad hesitated for a moment, thinking that in his current condition, he wouldn’t recover immediately, nor could he avoid seeing Safah indefinitely. So he said, “I can tell Mr. Safah.”
“I swear on the name of God that I will absolutely not speak of Mr. Jayad’s private affairs to any other person,” Bailing Ding directly made a solemn oath. She was clearly the most impatient and was determined to see.
“It seems we don’t have anyone to tell,” Amelia shrugged. She was completely observing Jayad from the perspective of a doctor, while Samantha was more casual about it.
“Alright, since you really want to see, please be mentally prepared and don’t get scared,” Jayad said, opening his breastplate. A soft, feathered creature slid out.
After wearing and removing the Hawk Armor twice, although Older Brother Jayad hadn’t fully mastered walking and moving like a human, he could at least skillfully enter and exit the armor now, very smoothly.
“Hiss!” Just seeing Jayad slide out of the armor like a squid made the girls collectively gasp. And when Jayad unfolded his body, they were even more shocked.
I had also seen Older Brother Jayad’s Angel Form. It was bizarre yet sacred. His entire body was covered in pure white feathers adorned with eyes, while his dark yellow tentacles were draped with necklaces strung with various gemstones and golden rings inscribed with secret runes. Behind him were six dilapidated bone wings.
“M-Mr. Jayad, do you still remember me?” Even Elena seemed to be somewhat fearful of him.
