The Little Witch’s Daily Struggle – Chapter 1886

Chapter 1886 – Demon Sword of Dominion

To be honest, it’s only with Older Brother Jayad’s support that I have so many souls to use. The other witches conserve their souls, molding them one by one. It takes about seven or eight souls to create one guardian spirit. How could I use so many at once like this?

Under my soul infusion, the Lich’s remnant soul merged with a large group of demon monster souls that hadn’t had their savagery erased. Soon, they would lose themselves amidst the chaotic consciousness.

The three remnant souls merged with a large amount of souls and began to deform, eventually turning into three bizarre and ferocious demon swords. They had hilts held by severed hands, blades that cracked like volcanic rock, and blood plasma flowing within the fissures.

This is none other than the Lich’s demon sword, which has now been corrupted into a holy sword by Older Brother Jayad. It formed this appearance because it was made from the remnant souls of three Liches.

The three demon swords flew towards the guardian spirits and were held by them. One was held in its original two hands, with the tip pointed downwards in front of its body. The other two one-handed swords were held by the six hands behind its back.

It’s a bit of a shame. I can imagine the development path of this guardian spirit. Originally, the Lich had eight remnant souls, which could have been made into eight demon swords, perfectly one for each hand. However, five phylacteries have already been sacrificed by me, leaving only three demon swords.

“Parul, is it done?” Older Brother Jayad asked, collecting the remaining demon monster souls. He had used so many, yet they weren’t all gone.

If the other witches saw this, they would be green with envy. Many witches go bankrupt to create guardian spirits, even becoming lovers to strong individuals. Seeing me waste them like this, they would probably cry themselves to death in the toilet.

“It’s done, you can stop now,” I said happily. So, the girls simultaneously stopped, and released the barrier. They couldn’t help but let out some breaths; suppressing so many berserk demon monster souls at once was still a bit tiring.

I went up to inspect the new guardian spirit. Unlike the previous guardian spirit, the Valkyrie, which was more feminine, this guardian spirit was genderless, as the Nascent Soul serving as its base had no sexual characteristics.

“It’s sensitive to both Undead Magic and Murder’s Divine Spell. It seems to be a ranged guardian spirit. However, its combat effectiveness might require your help,” I said, looking at the others.

“Perfect. After resting, let’s have some activity,” Giselle said. The other three girls also nodded. Even Older Brother Jayad stood up, hoping to always know his sister’s combat power.

We came to the testing room of the Steam Armor Factory. This was a room built with tough metal, as solid as gold. Unless a forbidden spell was cast inside, it wouldn’t be damaged.

“Boom!” A sea of blood, accompanied by wails, spread throughout the room. Four figures simultaneously attacked the purple-robed figure floating in mid-air. Older Brother Jayad and I were in the adjacent room, watching the battle next door through a silver crystal window.

Logically, the strength of the four girls was considerable. If they attacked together, my guardian spirit shouldn’t last long, but the situation was at a stalemate.

The three demon swords flew in the air, pursuing three figures: one was a floating blood mist, another was a flickering shadow, and the last was a semi-transparent ghost.

Even though they used all their skills, the three demon swords kept close pursuit, following their movements. If they ran even a bit slower, they would be directly caught and given a harsh smack on the backside, though they were using the flat of the blade since it wasn’t actual combat.

Sherris, the only one not being chased by the flying swords, was frantically exchanging magic with the guardian spirit. However, only proficient in Ghoul magic, she clearly couldn’t deal with a Guardian Deity proficient in so many Undead Magic and Murder’s Divine Spell.

Now, bone daggers materialized on all eight arms of the guardian spirit, aiming and stabbing all over at Sherris. Her Ghoul’s Claw was struggling to cope, forcing her to retreat repeatedly.

Just then, Giselle suddenly disappeared and rushed out from the guardian spirit’s shadow, stabbing towards the Guardian Deity’s back with a single blow.

Who would have thought that the guardian spirit would act as if it had eyes on its back? Its six arms twisted backwards, extending unnaturally, and began to jab at Giselle.

Giselle counter-stabbed the guardian spirit with almost the same movement, but she only had one hand, while the Guardian Deity had eight. Soon, she was forced to retreat in disarray.

Previously, it took several of us to gain an advantage against Giselle. Now, a single Guardian Deity could suppress her. This was also because I had gradually become familiar with Murder’s Divine Spell and her tactics.

“Not bad, your new guardian spirit can suppress all four of them simultaneously,” Older Brother Jayad praised.

“It’s alright. They aren’t fighting seriously, and the actual combat environment will surely be more complex,” I said.

It’s also because I’ve read the Ghoul manuscript and fought with them too often in the past, so I’m very familiar with their moves and spells, thus I could easily resolve them.

Moreover, I have the perspective of an observer, clearly watching them make their moves and calmly thinking of ways to resolve them. In actual combat, there are too many factors, and I myself would be attacked, so there wouldn’t be such an environment for calm response.

“That’s still good. That demon sword tracking move is really impressive. I feel like it would be hard for me to dodge,” Older Brother Jayad exclaimed.

“That’s called Sword Control in the East. Although it’s a form of magic, it seems that cultivators who reach a certain level all know how to use it. Since the guardian spirit was created with a Nascent Soul as its base, it seems to have learned it directly,” I said.

At first, I wasn’t used to using it, but after actually trying it, I found Sword Control to be really effective. Although I’m controlling demon swords, it looks a bit incongruous.

“Have them stop. I’ll go in and try out the power of Parul’s new guardian spirit,” Older Brother Jayad said. He opened the door and called out to the girls to stop their fight.

It seems he is planning to join the fray himself. I’m also looking forward to seeing how much combat power the guardian spirit can exert against Older Brother Jayad. The result…

“Boom!” Holy Light exploded. The three demon swords let out a mournful cry and flew backward, crashing into the metal wall along with the guardian spirit, and then fell down.

Damn it, it was no match at all. Not only was Undead Magic severely restrained by Older Brother Jayad, but even the swordplay alone was suppressed.

It seems that to fight Older Brother Jayad, unless I bring both my guardian spirits and my main body, make thorough preparations, and bring all my equipment, there’s no hope of a fight.

However, when Older Brother Jayad came out, he said, “Not bad. With such a strong guardian spirit, Parul should have the ability to protect herself even if she faces Rodrigo alone.”

“By the way, Sister Parul, what’s the name of your new guardian spirit?” Lorna suddenly asked.

Right, it needs a name. I looked at its appearance and thought for a moment, “How about Ethereal Walker?”

You hear the penny-dreadful tales, don’t you? Souls whisked off to other worlds, landing in lives of ease and splendor. Reborn as young lords in grand manors, with enchanted baubles at their fingertips or a spectral mentor whispering secrets. But my own ‘grand arrival’? No gentle angel to light the path. Instead, a repulsive, foul deity—some forgotten horror from a darker age—claimed me. I was tormented to the very edge of oblivion, then pitched into a twisted, gaslit world of shadows and fear. I awoke in the frail body of an orphan girl, shivering in some rat-infested rookery, choked by smog and despair. Weak, plagued by illness, with a hunger that gnawed relentlessly. My new story didn’t start from scratch; it began deep in the dregs, clawing my way up from less than nothing.” Now, all I fight for is to live, to see another grimy sunrise over these cobbled streets. Not just for my own skin, but for him—the one whose fate is tangled with mine, the one soul I cling to in this godforsaken, fog-drenched city.
