Chapter 1962 – Undead Twins
“This is bad! Captain! Older Brother, go save him!” I anxiously shouted. I had initially wanted to watch the fight unfold from the sidelines, but unexpectedly, the Knight Captain was directly defeated. There was no choice but to ask my Older Brother to go and save him.
“Alright!” Older Brother Jayad didn’t even need my reminder. He had already rushed forward the moment the Knight Captain fell.
The Knight Captain and I had cooperated several times before, and we had some rapport. We could stand by and watch the Lord of the City die, but we had to save the Knight Captain when he was in trouble.
Older Brother Jayad condensed Holy Light into a greatsword and threw it towards the two girls. The two Undead Girls put away the faint, cold smiles on their faces and looked seriously at Jayad’s greatsword. They clenched their small hands and faced the greatsword simultaneously.
The clash was silent. The Holy Light sword seemed to have stabbed into an invisible wall of air, unable to advance an inch. In reality, it had struck the dense Undead Death Qi, which felt as tangible as an entity.
Moreover, as Jayad continued to channel Holy Light into the greatsword, and the Holy Light on the blade blazed, the Death Qi collapsed at the slightest touch. A large amount of Negative energy and Death Qi was purified by the Holy Light, and the greatsword began to advance step by step towards the position of the two girls.
For the first time, the two Undead Girls showed a solemn, serious expression. They looked at Jayad, and psionic energy, curses, resentment, and whispers appeared out of thin air, directly falling upon Jayad.
Soon, they discovered that these Undead tricks were useless against Jayad. This guy was protected by Holy Light, and the ghost tactics were completely ineffective against him. It would be better to channel pure mental power into the sword and compete with him in raw strength.
The two sides entered a stalemate. Older Brother Jayad, due to his restraint, could fight the two Undead Girls together to a fifty-fifty tie. Both sides entered the stage of a war of attrition. It would be great if one more person came to break the balance.
Unfortunately, most people’s attention was currently focused on Rodrigo, whose magic power had gone berserk. They were all in a sorry state, fleeing from the explosions, and no one could spare a hand to help Jayad.
Just as I was about to send a telepathic message to the General, who had been watching the show, a beautiful figure leaped up and rushed directly into the Undead domain condensed by Death Qi.
“Alicia?!” I hadn’t expected her to dare to do that. I saw Alicia holding a halberd picked up from a fallen guard. With the phantom images of four gods on her, she was also immune to the effects of Death Qi.
Alicia took advantage of the confrontation between Jayad and the two girls to charge directly into the Undead domain, advancing unimpeded. She thrust her halberd at one of the Undead Girls, the halberd burning with sacred flames.
She could only helplessly raise her hand, using her arm, which looked like that of a seven or eight-year-old girl, to block the halberd. She even gripped the halberd burning with Holy Fire with her small palm.
Alicia’s sudden attack instantly disrupted the combined offensive of the two girls. Without their combined effort, the strength of one Undead Girl was not enough to withstand Older Brother Jayad. With a flash of Holy Light, the greatsword forcefully cleaved through the Undead domain.
The remaining Undead Girl, like the other one, opened her tender hands and surprisingly attempted to catch the Holy Light greatsword with her bare hands. She even used both hands to embrace it, looking as if she were trying to disarm the sword with her bare hands.
Her two hands accurately clamped onto the blade. However, she probably regretted it the next moment. Her two small hands were directly burned to ashes, leaving only two bloody handprints on the greatsword.
In fact, this was already quite remarkable. It was the first time I had seen an Undead dare to confront Holy Light head-on, using its own body to touch Holy Light, and even leaving bloody handprints imbued with curses on the Holy Light.
But this was of no use. The little girl, having lost her hands, had no room to resist. She was pierced through the body by the greatsword, then torn in half, and instantly disappeared into the air.
“Amazing!” Those who were watching, especially those who had just fought the two Undead Girls, exclaimed in admiration. To be able to kill an Undead Girl so easily, they all clearly knew how powerful those two Undead Girls were.
However, when they saw that it was contestant Norton who killed her, they had no surprised or astonished thoughts. Contestant Norton, of course, it was normal; he was a strong contender for the championship, so such a strong performance was expected.
Even the Crown Prince was clapping on the side. The problem was that these two girls and that man were here to assassinate the Lord of the City and had already caused casualties, yet he was watching from the side. This was not very appropriate.
Jayad did not, as others expected, immediately turn to kill the other girl after killing one. Instead, he directly leaned down to save the Knight Captain. He placed his palm on the Knight Captain, and a surge of Holy Light flowed into his body, instantly purifying the Death Qi within him.
“Hiss! Mr. Jayad, Lord of the City, please!” the Knight Captain gritted out. In fact, he had remained conscious all along and knew what was happening, but the Death Qi in his body had rendered him unable to move.
The first thing he did after recovering was to ask Jayad to save the Lord of the City. He was truly loyal.
Jayad glanced at the Lord of the City, who was twitching and convulsing on the ground. His life aura was faint, and he could die at any moment.
In fact, this was not his business, especially since it involved grudges between other people. Jayad disliked interfering rashly when he could not discern right from wrong. However, since the Knight Captain requested it, he had no choice but to save him.
Just as he waved his hand and scattered a ray of Holy Light, another wave of Death Qi suddenly swept over. An Undead Girl suddenly appeared above the Lord of the City, blocking the Holy Light.
Wait! Wasn’t she just cut in half by Jayad? I watched in shock. There were indeed two girls. One was still fighting Alicia and was at a disadvantage, covered in wounds, while the other was confronting Jayad.
Individually, they were no match for Jayad, nor for Alicia. Soon, the girl fighting Alicia was also pierced by her halberd.
This time, I watched with my own eyes as she turned into Death Qi and dissipated, then condensed from the Death Qi again. I seemed to have seen this situation before, very similar to that Lich. Without destroying its phylactery, it could not be killed completely.
The core of those two girls was obvious. I shouted to remind them, “It’s that Music Box! To kill them, you must destroy the Music Box!”
As soon as I finished speaking, the Crown Prince lunged forward, trying to grab the Music Box on the ground. I was a bit puzzled. Why was he so proactive?
When I saw the Crown Prince condense a sealing spell on his hand, I understood. He wanted to seize the Music Box for himself. As long as he sealed the Music Box and took it back, the Bourbon family had plenty of methods to control Undead. He would effectively have two powerful subordinates who would obey his every command.
It was a beautiful thought, but it had nothing to do with me. It was his skill if he could get it. Just as I thought this, the Music Box suddenly emitted a powerful attraction.
