Chapter 2021: The Names of Otherworldly Beings
In other words, even if Jayad released her, this Crystal Woman Girl would find it difficult to escape human society. Anyone who saw her would want to possess her, as each Crystal Person was equivalent to a gemstone as tall as a human, and also a human-shaped prospecting tool.
Even if she managed to escape human society, she would already be homeless. She would have to find an unknown mineral vein or an abandoned mine to live in. With Crystal People being extremely rare, living alone would also be extremely dangerous, as other otherworldly beings and monsters would not see her as friendly.
“Okay, you don’t need to say it for now. Then what about the two of you? Saigo Mari, right? I remember Gaspar said you were lost to him by your childhood sweetheart. Why don’t you go find your childhood sweetheart then?” Jayad asked the Eastern Ying Girl, though his pronunciation was not very standard.
“I don’t actually have the surname Saigo. I don’t have a surname; I was a maid raised by the Saigo Family. Because of my good performance and the young master’s favor, I was granted the surname Saigo and was taught swordsmanship, and was able to accompany the young master to study abroad,” Mari said.
“In the young master’s eyes, I was always just a maid. After losing me in a duel, the young master was angry for a while, but soon had to be recalled to his home country due to family matters. I had no idea how to return to Eastern Ying. Even if I went back, the Saigo Family would probably not accept me anymore. After all, I am a symbol of the young master losing to someone else, a disgrace to him.”
Jayad was stunned. He didn’t know how far Eastern Ying was from Iberian. He had only heard Palula say it was very far. Without a specialized ship, sufficient travel expenses, and food, it was impossible to go back.
“Sigh, then what about you? Can you not go home, or do you not have a home at all?” Jayad looked at the Harpy, who seemed to have managed to pull herself out of her initial dejection.
“I have already mutated. Even if I return to Eagle Nest City, my own kind will not accept me anymore,” the Harpy’s voice was still low, but she immediately raised her voice and said, “I want to save my people! My people are still in dire straits, I must save them all!”
The Harpy’s sharp eyes suddenly looked at Jayad. “Your subordinates are very strong and very rich. Perhaps you can help me save my people. If you can do it, I will listen to you for life and serve you with all my heart!”
Well, this one was even more exaggerated. She had taken a liking to Older Brother Jayad’s financial strength and power, wanting to ask him to save her companions.
This was not like gaining three more slaves, but more like gaining three masters. The cost of raising Crystal People was huge, the Eastern Ying Girl probably wasn’t used to the living conditions and food, and the Harpy had directly set her sights on Jayad’s strength, wanting to use him.
The most crucial part was that no one knew what use these three people were, apart from fighting. But where would they possibly need the three of them for fighting? He began to suspect that Gaspar’s decisive act of losing them to Older Brother Jayad was intended to make them bankrupt them or annoy them to death.
“Sigh, okay, so you three don’t plan on leaving anytime soon?” Jayad asked with a helpless sigh.
“It’s not that we don’t want to leave, it’s that we have nowhere to go back to,” Mari corrected him. Older Brother Jayad covered his head; it was all the same thing.
“Okay, as long as you are happy. Since you plan to temporarily reside under my banner, I should at least know your names. I already know Mari’s, so there’s no need for her to say it,” Jayad said helplessly.
“Janieva Flame Feather. You can call me Flame Feather,” the Harpy said, flapping her wings.
This was a typical tribal name for an otherworldly being. The surname was usually a nickname based on family characteristics, such as Bloodhoof, Blackhand, or Shatterfist.
Considering Janieva had the bloodline of a phoenix within her, it usually meant her entire clan’s feathers were the color of flames, so calling her Flame Feather was reasonable.
However, she only allowed Jayad to call her by her surname. Luckily, Jayad also found surnames easier to remember and more pleasant to say, so he said frankly, “Miss Flame Feather, is that right? Let’s reintroduce ourselves, but I cannot guarantee that I will go and save your kin.”
“It doesn’t matter. Even if you don’t act, I will find a way. I just need you to provide me with a place of refuge and an opportunity to approach that scoundrel Gaspar. I will be very grateful, and I will obey your commands to the best of my ability,” Flame Feather said.
She had been clear about her positioning from the start. As soon as she left Gaspar’s command, she started calling him a scoundrel. Moreover, she saw Jayad as her collaborator, or rather, her protector; it was still a relationship of mutual benefit.
“You can have my body too. I will serve you well, as I’ve learned,” Blood Feather suddenly said.
Perhaps realizing she had no benefit to offer Jayad to ensure their cooperation, she immediately intended to offer a heavy chip to maintain their relationship.
“Cough cough cough! What are you saying?” Jayad spat out the tea he had just drunk. He felt several eager gazes on his back, making him uneasy.
He had clearly overestimated the Harpy’s integrity. All Harpies were female and could only raid males of other races to reproduce. The men they captured and brought back to their settlement would not be released until they were emaciated and skinny, seeing green when looking at the sun. Expecting them to have integrity was like expecting capitalists not to exploit.
“I’m talking about reproduction. Don’t all you men like this sort of thing? Oh, right, it’s my first time. What do you call it, a virgin? I heard humans really like first times. Or are you the same as that weakling Gaspar?” Flame Feather asked.
“Wait a minute! You’re a virgin? There are virgins among you Harpies? And after being captured as slaves, Gaspar didn’t do that to you… Wait, what did you just say about Gaspar?” This sentence contained so much information that I couldn’t help but interject.
“It’s normal to have them, isn’t it? There are limited men captured. After the elders finished, it was my turn. That weakling Gaspar couldn’t get it up and was seeking medical help everywhere. This is not a secret, you can ask around and you’ll know.”
Flame Feather’s words were full of contempt. In the Harpy tribe, strong men represented the ability to multiply the tribe, so weaklings were naturally the most despised.
“He is indeed impotent. It is said that he molested too many female slaves during past slave trading, and now he has no desire for that,” Mari confirmed her words. No wonder I didn’t see Gaspar touching any women at the previous banquet.
“Okay, let’s forget about that. What is your name?” Jayad skipped Flame Feather’s offer and asked the Crystal Person.
“Sandstone, Master,” the Crystal Person still called Jayad Master.
