Chapter 2176: Destiny Has Changed, But Only Slightly
“Brother, I’ve noticed I’ve been at sea a lot lately, and now we’re setting sail together again,” said Night Bird, her voice coming from my own, as she was held in Older Brother Jayad’s embrace.
At this moment, we were sitting on a bench chair near the Lisbon port, watching the ships come and go. Jayad asked, “What’s wrong? Did you do something again in the North Sea?”
“I just hijacked another ship. This should be the third ship I’ve taken part in hijacking. The guard was an Orthodox Christian, quite strong. Unfortunately, I’m too familiar with your methods, Brother. His Magic Apparatus is quite good. I’ll bring it over later and show it to you to see if any of it is useful,” I said through Night Bird.
“Then I’ll thank Parul in advance. But we can’t say we’re all at sea, can we? The cruise ship is currently docked in the port of Mallorca due to the investigation into Gaspar’s murder. We haven’t set sail yet. Actually, only Parul is at sea, right?” Older Brother Jayad chuckled.
Our main bodies were embroiled in the murder case triggered by Despair Double Sound. Although Gaspar was basically blamed for it, the case was too sensational, so the police detained the cruise ship for a longer period, stating they needed to thoroughly search for evidence.
To avoid possible surveillance and to prevent any suspicion arising from speaking carelessly, I had been communicating important matters with Older Brother Jayad here in Lisbon recently. My main body generally only discussed everyday trivialities and jokes.
“Anyway, we’ll be setting sail soon from here. But indeed, the situation over there has been almost resolved. Despair Double Sound is finally no longer acting like a god and ghost beside me. They are willing to proactively contact me. As long as Sebastian can find their father, the matter will be completely resolved, right?”
Before, Despair Double Sound’s lingering presence around me was almost driving me insane, but ever since I proactively contacted them, confirmed their intentions, and let them understand my sincerity, the two sisters no longer bothered me.
Moreover, if I sought them out, they would appear and be willing to communicate with me. I viewed this as the first step towards mutual trust, indicating they had abandoned their previous plan of forcing me to be their master. However, they were unwilling to be freed until they met their father.
The Queen of the Insects had already left our bodies with Shaien and returned to the Dream World. They had obtained the Cosmic Music they longed for and were content. Plus, she was incredibly busy with her myriad duties and urgent tribal affairs, so she quickly took her leave.
Since we had reached an understanding with Despair Double Sound, I believed there was no longer a need for conflict. Furthermore, having an insect constantly watching me in my brain was quite uncomfortable, so I let them depart. This brief collaboration could be considered a win-win situation for all parties involved.
I had just visited Sebastian’s home again and told him about my prophetic dream. Of course, I also included the intelligence from the dream that Sebastian had found the Craftsman’s corpse.
Sebastian was quite taken aback. He hadn’t even set out yet, and I was telling him that he had already found it, even providing the general location and method.
What was even more astonishing was how accurate the details I provided were. Sebastian indeed had the photograph from the Detective showing the cultist’s hideout, and he was aware of the celestial alignment diagram on it.
However, he hadn’t previously considered it a crucial clue for finding the Craftsman’s corpse, merely one of many seemingly unrelated clues.
Unexpectedly, I directly pointed out that it was the correct clue and even roughly indicated the location. Sebastian had no choice but to believe me.
However, he said with a wry smile, “Miss Parul, telling me the correct answer directly like this has reduced the fun of deduction by more than half. I finally understand how those people feel when their mystery novels are spoiled for them.”
According to Sebastian, he derived no pleasure from reading mystery novels. Firstly, in most novels, he could guess the culprit and method from the beginning without any surprises.
Secondly, he had handled too many bizarre and tragic cases in reality, which were often more outlandish and convoluted than those in mystery novels, even more gruesome and terrifying. Therefore, reading mystery novels held no appeal for him.
Unexpectedly, Sebastian was now experiencing the feeling of being spoiled, which was a very rare occurrence.
“Let’s not worry about spoilers now. Lives are at stake! I’ve finally managed to stabilize Despair Double Sound. If we can find their father, perhaps this menace can be completely resolved. Please try your best,” I said helplessly.
“I understand. I’ll do my best. Since we have the correct clue and direction, I believe finding the location won’t be difficult. The rest is just field research and searching,” Sebastian replied.
“Then I’ll entrust it to you. My brother and I are about to set sail. His Yellow King believers said they have already prepared the ships. I hope to receive good news from you when we return,” I added.
Thinking about it, Sebastian finding the Craftsman’s hiding place, as I saw in my dream, should theoretically have been deduced by him completely on his own, without any outside help.
Now, I was relaying the conclusion he had reached in my dream back to Sebastian himself. He would directly follow the correct clues and avoid a long detour. The causal relationship in this was quite interesting.
After agreeing, Sebastian immediately set off with the clues, and I returned to Older Brother Jayad’s side, preparing to assist him in his work with the Yellow King Church.
As we were still chatting on the bench, a commoner woman wearing a light yellow cloak and shift dress approached and said, “Divine Envoy, we have prepared the ship. You can come with us.”
“Alright.” Jayad stood up, still holding Night Bird. Now all the Yellow King believers knew that for the first time the Divine Envoy went out, he returned with a bird in his arms, and he often spoke to the bird.
However, this was not strange. They could all see that this Night Bird was a monster and speculated that perhaps it was the Divine Envoy’s familiar.
We first went to the tram station in the port area. After a short wait, a tram stopped, and a large group of people who appeared to be commoners disembarked, followed by countless people boarding. The trams in the port area were always full, not only on the lower level but also crowded on the open-air seats on the second level.
Among those who disembarked, some wore yellow suits, and others wore yellow cloaks. They were all dressed as ordinary civilians. The only distinguishing feature was the abundance of various yellow accessories on them.
These were senior employees of the investment company, fully integrated Yellow King believers who lived amongst society. They would all be heading to Atos Island to execute the Divine Revelation together.
