## Chapter 2421: Bathroom
“This is truly a passionate statue,” Via said with a smile, blushing both Cherise and Lorna.
“Heretic! What kind of blasphemy is this!” Sister Nun scolded, while Younger Sister Nun also blushed and said, “This is a bit… too lewd.”
Looking at their form-fitting nun habits, which were comparable to high-slit swimsuits, I thought to myself that they weren’t much different from the statue.
“To place such a statue in the hall, directly facing the main entrance, the original owner of this house truly had some ideas,” Re remarked.
While placing statues in the hall wasn’t uncommon, a statue with such an obvious implication made one suspect that the original owner of the house was not a respectable person.
“Do you remember what Karina from the Agency said? The original owner of this manor was the host of a club. No one knows what that club did, but during one party, all the members suddenly died of illness,” I reminded them.
“Are you saying that this club might not have been very reputable to begin with?” Re asked, looking at the statue.
“Anyway, placing such a statue at the entrance, it’s hard not to associate it with that. Besides, the decadent atmosphere after the Renaissance was also common on the Apennine Peninsula,” I said, referring to group parties, of course.
After the Black Death War, a great deal of Church authority fell, and society fell into a trend of hedonism. Many people felt that life was short and the world was unpredictable, so they should enjoy themselves while they could, lest they not see the sun tomorrow.
Coupled with the massive casualties and population decline caused by the Black Death War, the nobles and various churches, needing to replenish their population to fill labor and believer vacancies, began to encourage people to reproduce and break the previous relatively conservative atmosphere.
The Apennine Peninsula was particularly wealthy, with many rich people. They usually worked less and entertained more, so they were more unrestrained in these kinds of activities, leading to all sorts of joyous parties and uninhibited gatherings.
Seeing such an explicit statue placed at the entrance, we immediately suspected that this place was once a venue for such “love clubs.”
“Let’s continue looking around the other rooms,” Older Brother Jayad said. So, leaving the statue there for now, we walked to the adjacent rooms.
The dining room had nothing remarkable. The long table was covered with white cloth, and cutlery and plates were placed in glass cabinets. The exquisite candlesticks on the table had half-burnt candles, but all the collected red wine had been drunk.
The stove had not been left unused for too long; there was only a light layer of dust on the pot lid, and there were still quite a few charred pieces of charcoal in the furnace.
Since the current owner, Ed, was continuously trying to rent out the house, there should have been tenants not long ago. However, these tenants clearly lacked the ability to maintain the manor’s condition, leaving it to collect dust and fall into disrepair.
Owning a manor, while buying land, building houses, and furnishing them was certainly expensive, the truly costly part was the subsequent maintenance work. Manors required regular deep cleaning, replacement and repair of damaged furniture, and garden upkeep. These all cost a lot of money and required hiring many people.
Tenants who could only afford such a cheap manor clearly lacked the financial ability to hire so many servants, nor would they spend money to repair other people’s furniture, so they could only make do.
The toilet and bathroom were also not cleaned, but they had running water and seemed to have been in normal use not long ago.
The bathroom here could be seen to have once been luxurious. The bathtub was excavated directly from the ground, about the size of a small children’s swimming pool. Both the floor and walls were paved with white jade stone tiles, and a bathtub was also placed in the corner.
The drainage design was also ingenious: nine girls holding water bottles were placed in various corners of the bathtub. They were also naked, with exquisite figures and beautiful appearances, and were posing in different ways.
Some were sitting sideways against the wall, some were standing upright in dance poses, and some had their hands outstretched in provocative gestures. Their appearances were all unique, the only commonality being that the water bottles they held were pouring water into the bathtub.
When we turned the faucet, clear water flowed from the mouths of the bottles, flowed over the bodies of the maiden statues, and then into the bathtub, making it look like the maidens were bathing.
However, it seemed that the previous owner rarely used this bathtub, as a lot of dust had accumulated at the bottom, making the entire bathtub a murky, gray wastewater after being filled. It would probably take several washes before it could be used.
“This bathroom’s decoration is also very interesting,” I said with a smile, looking at the arrangement around the bathroom.
“How is it interesting?” Re asked, looking around. It seemed like a very ordinary bathroom to him, just a little more luxurious, like there was a separate shower by the wall.
“It’s one thing to place nine naked maiden statues here, but those showerheads, one of them doesn’t have a showerhead. Do you know what it’s for?” I asked with a smile.
The bathroom was indeed exquisitely decorated. All the showerheads were golden and designed with adjustable water flow and spray patterns. However, one spray tube did not have a showerhead; instead, it had a pointed nozzle.
“The maiden statues have the same style as the three-woman statue at the entrance, so they should be from the same artist. As for this pointed nozzle, I really don’t know what it’s for,” Jayad said doubtfully, looking at the nozzle.
“Is it to make the water spray further, so it can clean the bathroom floor?” Younger Sister Nun asked. They knew that shrinking the nozzle and increasing the water pressure could make it spray farther.
“Of course not. If it were for cleaning the floor, the pipe wouldn’t be so short. This pointed nozzle was deliberately made this way to spray water into certain positions,” I stated the answer directly.
“Ah! You mean…” Via immediately blushed. Vampires, living for a long time and possessing immortality, were usually quite experienced, so she guessed it too.
The fact that I could react and guess immediately was not only because I had read widely and had some knowledge in my previous life, but also because I was a doctor in this world and was very familiar with this therapy particularly popular in France.
After the two of us guessed, we explained it to the other girls, causing them all to blush. We didn’t expect rich people to play like this.
“Well, it’s not necessarily used like that, is it? Maybe it’s just for cleaning the body?” Cherise still didn’t believe it. The simple little ghoul couldn’t imagine that humans could play like this.
“Of course, the use of more than one nozzle isn’t the only indication. There are also matching items here,” I said, opening a cabinet in the bathroom and taking out several bottles that looked like shower gel or perhaps bath additives.
