Chapter 2510: Swearing Allegiance
“I understand, of course I choose to be loyal to you!” Hildegarde immediately knelt on one knee and swore allegiance. In her opinion, there was nothing to hesitate about. The person in front of her was a Divine Favorite of the Murder Church, and the people around her were so strong. Did she have any other choice?
“Mm, good. There’s an old saying in the East: ‘A wise man knows when to adapt to the times.’ From now on, I will lead you down a path of free development, at least you won’t be bothered by a little money anymore,” I said.
Thinking about it, these guys were quite absurd. Even without any members of the Murder Church to lead them astray, they had still operated the Church of Suffering to this state. It was likely that the Plague Church wasn’t faring much better either. I was speechless.
Considering the Church of Suffering’s tolerance for hardship, they were practically born laborers. In the future, Older Brother Jayad might need to buy mines and open factories in Genoa, and I believe these people could be very useful.
“By the way, do you know about the Church of the Gluttony Demon King?” I suddenly asked.
“The Gluttony Demon King, is that another aspect of the Lord of Murder?” Hildegarde was startled. She understood the meaning behind that divine name.
“Yes, have you seen anyone from the Church of Gluttony, on the Apennine Peninsula or in the surrounding regions?” I had previously speculated that they might know the Pope, but seeing her reaction, I was no longer sure.
“No, I’ve never encountered anyone from the Church of Gluttony, nor have I interacted with them. Of course, it’s possible I didn’t recognize them,” Hildegarde replied.
Generally, people with related divine power would resonate internally when they met. However, she was from the Church of Suffering, not the Church of Murder, so she couldn’t produce divine power resonance. It was normal that she couldn’t recognize them.
This lowered the probability of her having a relationship with the Pope. However, I still asked, “Do you know anyone around here nicknamed the Pope, or have you seen any demons?”
Hildegarde shook her head, “No, this place is covered in Divine Corrosion. If we don’t feel comfortable living here, how could there be any demons?”
“That’s true. Alright, let’s first release the people you brought, then unseal your high-level members, and then gather the nearby members of the Church of Suffering and the Plague Church for a meeting,” I said.
“Yes.” Hildegarde naturally had no objections and followed me into the Main House.
Lorrena chuckled from behind, “Sister Parul has gained another beautiful girl, and she’s an elf too. I wonder if Older Brother Jayad will like this type?”
“Cough! Hil, before that, go put on some clothes. I’ll lend you some. Besides, that bondage you were wearing before was completely improper. Don’t wear it out again,” I said with a dark expression.
Lorrena reminded me, I couldn’t let Hildegarde go in naked like this. If Older Brother Jayad saw her, his eyes would be fixed on her again.
Actually, not wearing clothes was fine. But wearing them made them look even more seductive. That bondage outfit couldn’t even be called clothes. Walking on the street wearing that would definitely make them stand out.
“Yes, actually, in the countryside, we usually wear a normal piece of clothing over it, but we take off the outer layer during combat,” Hildegarde nodded.
So, that bondage outfit was actually their battle attire. It could indeed be felt that the bondage outfit was a rare Magic Apparatus. After Giselle destroyed it, Hildegarde’s aura dropped significantly.
However, just wearing it wasn’t enough; it had to be exposed to exert its power. This characteristic was too perverted, truly befitting the Church of Suffering.
So, I took Hildegarde to the fitting room first. Actually, we hadn’t bought any clothes. Most of the clothes in the wardrobe here were left behind by the Church of Suffering themselves. This was more like returning property to its rightful owner.
So, when Hildegarde came out for the first time wearing only a maid outfit that consisted of an apron, I spat out the water I was drinking. She had gloves, stockings, and a headscarf on, and only wore an apron. There was nothing on her back except for a tied bow.
“Go back and change! What is this? Choose a piece of clothing with more fabric!” I said angrily. Hildegarde could only nod and return to the room, closing the door again.
Soon, she came out again. This time, she had changed into a nun outfit. She was completely covered from head to toe, but the chest was deliberately cut out, with only two “milk covers” obscuring her small peaks.
“This won’t do either! Forget it, I’ll choose for you,” I said with a headache. This half-elf completely lacked any sense of human shame. Then again, in the Elven Forest, I saw many elves wearing only a few leaves.
Going in and carefully checking the wardrobe, I realized that I couldn’t entirely blame her. The clothes left by the Church of Suffering in the wardrobe were almost all indecent. There was hardly any choice.
The Church of Suffering had left these clothes specifically to tempt their tenants into a fallen state. Not a single one looked decent; they were more outrageous than the last. I had to spend a long time choosing one that looked slightly normal.
It was a hospital patient’s uniform, with only two pieces of cloth in the front and back, tied with thin ropes at the waist. It could be easily pulled apart to “touch” the body, looking like it was used for doctor role-play.
Unfortunately, I am a proper doctor. This patient uniform was still acceptable, at least it didn’t expose too much, and covered what needed to be covered. I chose a few more barely acceptable outfits before taking Hildegarde to the confinement room.
Speaking of which, this Main House had prison cells. I don’t know if they were part of the original construction by the Manor or built after the Church of Suffering took over, but they were definitely modified by them. Just looking at the arrangement in the prison cells was truly unique.
There were beds with shackles at the four corners, a row of various torture devices on the wall, an X-shaped rack, a hook in the center of the room that could be raised and lowered, and a cage in the corner that looked like it was for a large dog.
To be honest, this didn’t look like a proper prison cell. Although it had all the necessary functional props for locking people up, it was more like a torture chamber than a prison.
The members of the Church of Suffering who were captured by the illusion were sent here first. I didn’t lock them up but had Bailing Ding and Cherise guard them here, and also told them what had happened.
So, by the time we arrived, they understood almost as much as Hildegarde. However, because there was no one present who carried the aura of the Lord of Murder like Giselle and me, they still lacked a bit of trust.
When I appeared, they felt the pure aura left by the Lord of Murder on me. After their expressions conveyed that Hildegarde had explained what happened, they all swore allegiance.
