Chapter 272: Little Via’s Critical Condition
This was my first time in Via’s room, or even on the third floor. The setup was similar to the second floor: dark and damp. Via’s door was unlocked, and a light push opened it.
The room was extremely dark. Little Via had completely covered all the windows with thick, deep red curtains, sealing them airtight. The fireplace was not lit.
The only light sources in the room came from a few candles lit on the floor. What was strange was that the flames were of a cyan color, which looked very eerie in this environment.
The reason the candles were placed on the floor was because a Magic Circle was painted on the ground. It was a crimson Magic Circle, looking like it was drawn with blood. Many suspicious materials were also arranged there, and the candles were just a part of the Magic Circle.
At the end of the room stood a pure black coffin, a European-style flat hex coffin. The coffin lid had been lifted and placed to the side, revealing a red velvet lining inside.
The closer I got to the coffin, the stronger the smell of burning flesh became, along with a girl’s pained groans. When I could clearly see the inside of the coffin, I gasped.
Inside lay something that was neither human nor ghost. Looking closely, it was still humanoid, but incomplete, with skin severely burned, leaving a patch of charred flesh revealing muscle. Her face was unrecognizable, nothing like the small, cute Via from before.
She was panting continuously, but it seemed like she could only exhale, not inhale. Only her chest rose and fell slightly, and it looked like her internal organs could be seen directly through the decaying skin. She was still moaning in pain, appearing to be on the verge of death.
“She, how did she become like this?” I couldn’t bear to look after a single glance. I feared I’d have nightmares tonight if I looked any further; it was too terrifying and tragic.
“Didn’t I tell you? She was burned by Holy Fire. Although I don’t understand why Holy Fire erupted from me, it burned her entire body like this,” Jayad said anxiously.
I had thought Via was merely grazed by Holy Light, with injuries only to vital areas of her head, or at most a part of her Upper Body. Seeing her like this now, it was no wonder Jayad said she was in critical condition.
“Parul, what should we do? Hurry and think of a way to save her,” Jayad said, appearing lost.
What method could I have? I didn’t even know any basic tricks, only how to make a Potion. But Jayad had already proven that the Life Elixir was useless. I couldn’t think of any other good solutions.
“There’s no other way. Let’s tidy up and go find Amelia. Hopefully, she still has a way to save Vampires. Older Brother Jayad, close the coffin lid, then carry the lid and run. The faster the better,” I said. It was the only method left.
“Okay.” Jayad immediately prepared to lift the coffin lid, while I went to confirm if Via was positioned correctly inside.
At this moment, I heard her weak voice: “Blood, blood… poison…”
Blood? Did she want blood? And what was poison? Was she poisoned? It seemed Vampires could heal themselves with just a little blood.
“Older Brother Jayad, have you fed Little Via blood before? She keeps calling for blood,” I asked.
“I heard it too, but I didn’t dare. She turned out like this after drinking blood last time, so how could I dare to feed her again?” Jayad replied.
That made sense. Who knew if Holy Light would erupt again and finish off Little Via, who was already on the brink of death.
At this moment, Little Via seemed to have heard our conversation. She struggled to open her eyes and cried out, “Blood, I need blood. Please, give me blood.”
It seemed she still retained her consciousness. I hesitated. Logically, I didn’t have Holy Light within me like Jayad, so I should be able to let Via drink my blood. Moreover, in her current state, if nothing was done, she might die on the way.
The problem was, according to Amelia, my body contained countless viruses and germs. Would giving my blood to Via be alright? Vampires don’t get sick, do they?
As I was hesitating, Via, who had been lying in the coffin looking like she was dying, suddenly lunged towards me by the coffin, biting my wrist.
“Parul!” Jayad immediately drew his Short sword nervously, intending to cut Via. He truly cared about Via, but if Parul was in danger, Jayad could have cut her without hesitation.
“Wait! Don’t cut! Ugh!” I quickly stopped him. Via had already bitten my wrist. At first, it was a slight sting, then it quickly turned into a tingling sensation.
Via couldn’t be harmed. If Lavias somehow knew his close kin was killed and stormed over here in a rage, we’d be finished. Besides, drinking blood shouldn’t kill her; she said so herself.
Slowly, the tingling sensation on my wrist became stranger, even somewhat pleasant, like touching myself, and it seemed to intensify.
Simultaneously, as she absorbed my blood, Via began to regenerate. Her muscles split into countless threads of flesh, filling those wounds. The charred dead skin automatically peeled off, and her skin slowly regenerated.
It worked! At least this could save Little Via.
“Parul, are you alright? Your face seems to have turned red?” Jayad asked, looking at me with confusion.
“Ugh! I’m fine. Can you, can you go out first? *Hngh~* At least turn away and don’t look for now.” I said shyly. Why did drinking blood feel like this?
Waves of pleasure washed through my brain. I had to grit my teeth fiercely to stop myself from making strange sounds. If Jayad noticed my moist thighs, I wouldn’t be able to explain it.
By the way, has this guy finished drinking yet? Via had already healed more than half of her body. Her muscles were showing a rosy color again, and delicate white skin had reappeared, but her regeneration was not yet complete. She needed a lot of blood.
I was already feeling dizzy, whether it was from the release just now or from blood loss, but this feeling was truly intoxicating, and I might even become addicted.
However, the weakness and chill emanating from my body made me clearly aware of a dangerous premonition. If this continued, Via would drain me to death.
“Older Brother Jayad, bring me the Life Elixir, feed me!” I couldn’t afford to be shy any longer. I urged Older Brother Jayad to hurry and help. Jayad, though unsure why I was asking for this, brought the blood medicine and poured it into me.
It wasn’t until he saw it that Jayad was startled. Just now, Parul’s face was as red as blood, but now she had turned pale as paper, her lips completely devoid of color.
He immediately had me drink the Life Elixir. Only then did I feel warmth spread through my body, and my dizzy head cleared. I had indeed lost too much blood just now.
At this moment, Via finally let go. Her body had completely healed, and she had transformed back into a fair and cute little loli. However, the formal wear she was wearing had been burned away by Jayad, and she was now naked.
