Chapter 711 Shrieking Shaman
“Roar!” The controlled magical beast’s eyes instantly turned red, and it let out a threatening roar as it looked at Lorna.
“Can we really defeat these guys?” Paris said somewhat fearfully, as these magical beasts were marked as extremely dangerous in textbooks.
“I should be able to hold off the Mutated Wild Boar King for a bit!” Tandri raised his greatsword, staring at his opponent with his full attention.
“So it’s a Shrieking Shaman, which means he’s an Orc. I can already smell the stench from him. Be careful, he’s likely focused the magical beasts’ hostility on Miss Leo Man. You guys need to pay attention to aggro transfer,” Milti reminded them, seemingly knowledgeable about the Shrieking Shaman.
“Alright, you guys hold off the magical beasts, and I’ll find a way to snipe that guy!” Lair pulled his longbow, not one of them was running away.
“Roar!!!” The magical beasts moved. The Wild Boar King, with its multiple tusks and countless eyes, began to run. It charged forward like a tank, knocking down countless houses.
The Mad Speech Beast also let out a terrifying and shrill cry, and the Snake Chicken flapped its chicken wings, scratching the ground with its claws as it pounced. The wolf pack behind them howled and circled around to surround them.
“Help! Murder!” The villagers, terrified, scrambled and fled in all directions. When those magical beasts went berserk, they didn’t care about the houses or commoners in front of them, smashing or devouring them all.
“Come on, Charging Slash!” Tandri took a step forward and was the first to charge, slashing at the Wild Boar King’s head, but it was blocked by its tusks.
The Wild Boar King flicked its head, trying to flip over the annoying guy. Tandri rolled to dodge the head flick and simultaneously threw a nut-like fruit at the Wild Boar King’s head.
“Crack! Crack!” A sound like a string of firecrackers exploding. The nut exploded right in front of the Wild Boar King, sending a lot of shell fragments flying.
Normally, these fragments and small explosions wouldn’t have much power, only serving as a minor distraction during combat. But it was different for this mutated Wild Boar King, especially with the cluster of eyes on its face.
This explosion splashed all its eyes with walnut shells, and the Wild Boar King closed its eyes, roaring in pain and thrashing about.
Tandri then seized the opportunity to strike it with his sword again. He didn’t expect the Wild Boar King to have such tough skin and flesh, making it impossible to cut through easily, only leaving a slight wound on the surface.
“Steel Will!” Lorna first slapped her chest forcefully with her left hand, causing it to heave, which made me very excited and envious.
Ahem! No, she cast a mind-protection spell on herself, so she wouldn’t be afraid of the Mad Speech Beast’s roar. That roar was too unpleasant; even from this distance, it gave me a headache.
Lorna swung her Page Hammer to face the Mad Speech Beast. Even among so many magical beasts, the Mad Speech Beast was the most terrifying and largest.
Especially its terrifying and deformed appearance, it felt like the mere existence of such a creature was a blasphemy against nature and evolution. Such monsters should only exist in nightmares.
As Lorna began to fight it, she was clearly at a disadvantage. It was immensely strong with thick skin and flesh; it was immune to the Page Hammer’s blows and even the Holy Light bullets.
Instead, Lorna had to constantly dodge its attacks. Its every move, including its tail whips, caused great destruction. The most threatening was the tongue in the Mad Speech Beast’s mouth, with barbs at the tip. If caught, a piece of flesh would surely be torn off.
Just then, the Snake Chicken attacked Lorna from the side. Jayad raised his sword and shouted, “Miss Leo Man, I’ll help you!”
He slashed at the Snake Chicken, which it agilely dodged. Simultaneously, a long cry echoed from the sky as a Hippogriff descended, its sharp foreclaws aiming for the Mad Speech Beast’s head.
The Mad Speech Beast had to retract its tongue and engage the Hippogriff in battle. With the Hippogriff’s help, Lorna found herself much more at ease.
Meanwhile, Jayad stood in front of the Snake Chicken, forcefully drawing its aggro away from Lorna. The Snake Chicken glared angrily at the man blocking its path, its eyes emitting a gray light.
Instantly, Jayad’s body began to turn into gray stone, but he didn’t panic, as he had been prepared for this.
“Purification!” Jayad raised his Silver Sword high, and a white light cleared the petrified traces on his body.
If he had faced the Snake Chicken just a few days ago, Jayad might have found it a bit troublesome and difficult. But I had been petrified just once yesterday, and at that time, Older Brother Jayad understood that a miracle could break the petrification curse, which is why he dared to face the Snake Chicken head-on.
The Snake Chicken’s most powerful move was thus easily circumvented. However, it did not retreat. It opened its beak again and spat venom at Jayad, then fiercely charged at him, wrestling with him.
On the other side, we also had to deal with those omnipresent wolves, which had already surrounded us. Some were hiding in the vegetable patch, some were on the rooftops, and some were running between the houses.
“Hah!” Milti chased a pack of wolves with speed even faster than theirs, cutting off their heads with a single stroke. Then she flicked the wings of an Iron Winged Bee, which flew out like flying daggers, peppering an ambushing wolf with holes, causing it to fall to the ground.
But another wolf on the rooftop, unnoticed, lunged from behind. Just as I was about to shout a warning, a flaming arrow shot out from Lair’s position, hitting the charging black wolf in the neck.
The flaming arrow was probably one of the most basic skills for a magic archer, serving as a good deterrent against hordes of beasts. Lair used his flaming arrow spell to cover his teammates, shooting wherever pressure was applied.
I also drew my gun and fired at the surrounding wolf pack, occasionally covering Older Brother Jayad. The pressure was immense, but the battlefield was momentarily in a stalemate.
This greatly exceeded the expectations of the Priest. He had initially thought that with so many magical beasts charging in, these youths would be instantly dismembered and devoured by the beasts.
But unexpectedly, it had taken so long, and there was even a faint sense of a comeback. Several wolves had already been killed, and the three powerful magical beasts he had placed his hopes on had not achieved any breakthroughs; in fact, they were all being held off by individuals.
The Priest raised his staff and began to cast a spell. The sheep skull staff condensed with an earth-yellow light. He waved his staff forward and shouted, “Beast Frenzy!”
Instantly, the eyes of all the beasts began to glow red. They became manic and enraged, giving up their defenses and attacking fearlessly. The Mad Speech Beast completely ignored the Hippogriff attacking its head, and the Snake Chicken ignored the Silver Sword slashing at its neck, pecking at Jayad.
Jayad would have been able to heavily injure it if not for this opportunity. Unfortunately, his Ultimate Holy Slash uses for today had already been expended, and he didn’t have time to rest.
My pressure also increased greatly. The wolves attacked me one after another, completely unfazed by the gunshots. Suddenly, my right arm felt a sharp pain as a wolf bit down on it.
Almost instinctively, I slapped a Fireball onto the wolf’s head.
