**Chapter 791: High Elf**
Looking at the stirred-up dust and the vines lying limp on the ground, I felt a surge of emotions. If the previous vines resembled a giant snake coursing through the earth, then this current giant snake seemed to have its bones pulled out. Even the distant vines had collapsed, and those standing aerial roots were unable to support such a massive body.
Although it was certainly not dead yet— I could still feel its vibrant life force— it was indeed a strange creature. Without a host, it had completely lost its ability to move.
As the smoke and dust slowly settled, revealing the tangled mess of vines below, I couldn’t help but harbor doubts about our victory. It felt too easy. This had been the strongest enemy I encountered since my arrival in this world, and yet, with Older Brother Jayad meticulously planning each step of the operation, we had won so smoothly. Even its two hidden moves, the embryonic army and the light cannon flower, had no significant impact.
Though there were a few twists at the end, it was surprisingly the Knight Captain, whom I had least expected to perform well, who delivered the fatal blow, severing the connection between the parasitic flower and the main body. What a shock that was!
Now, the embryonic army lay scattered across the ground. After the mother body showed no signs of activity, it had become inactive too. They now resembled real plants.
“Uh, what should we do now? Let’s descend and take a look,” Older Brother Jayad suggested after some thought. The Byakhee carried us down, avoiding any vines and finding an open space to land.
The Knight Captain was gently set down by Byakhee. Once he steadied himself, Byakhee landed beside him, and the Knight Captain praised, “Very good, very good, such a clever companion.”
As mentioned before, the main issue preventing most knights from owning flying beasts was not money, but how to raise and tame them. A creature like Byakhee, which was obedient right from the start—and even seemed to be telepathically in tune—was truly a rare find.
Knights adored their mounts just like men in my previous life adored cars. An obedient flying beast undoubtedly belonged to the luxury car or even private jet category. Even if it didn’t look particularly beautiful, it could still be considered unique.
The Knight Captain had completely changed from initially rejecting and even loathing Byakhee to genuinely liking it, especially after it had bravely saved him. Now, he was even playing with it.
We first placed the High Elf girl on the ground. She was still connected to a large flower and had suffered severe injuries. Now, Older Brother Jayad was showing none of his earlier hesitance to harm her; instead, he gently laid her down, extending his hand to use Holy Light to heal her skin.
For such severe corrosive injuries, treatment required physical contact, and Older Brother Jayad’s Holy Light healing provided immense relief. I knew that feeling all too well, especially the intense pain vanishing suddenly, replaced with a slight tingling sensation— it felt exhilarating.
If it was just a short time, it would have been bearable, but prolonged contact would surely be overwhelming, especially with her extensive skin burns, essentially meaning Older Brother Jayad had to touch her all over.
“Ah~ ah~” The elf girl bit her lip, trying to suppress any embarrassing sounds, struggling to maintain her dignity as a High Elf. However, that was obviously futile; ever since earlier, the soft moans had been involuntarily escaping her throat.
She was well aware that her skin had suffered extensive burns from strong acid, putting her life at risk or leaving permanent scars if untreated. Thus, she simply endured Older Brother Jayad’s gentle touch, not resisting.
According to my readings, High Elves were a very proud race, combining elven arrogance and nobility. They were far more difficult to interact with than the previous Wood Elf Milti. Allowing a human to touch her was exceptionally rare.
Of course, this also related to the immediate effect of Older Brother Jayad’s Holy Light. Where he touched, the charred burns swiftly scabbed over, and then the scars quickly fell away, revealing beneath them skin as white as snow.
Elves cherished beauty above all else; if their skin was left marred by strong acid, it would be better to kill them. Yet, Jayad could demonstrate healing methods that erased the scars, leaving her no choice but to grit her teeth and accept it.
The Knight Captain, as a moral, family-oriented man, took it upon himself to avoid seeing or hearing anything improper. He moved aside with Byakhee to give it a breather, leaving me to awkwardly watch Older Brother Jayad treating her wounds while I also needed to examine her health status.
Her health was good; her limbs and internal organs showed no signs of atrophy or degeneration. It appeared that during the parasitic phase, the Usum Child had supplied her with abundant nutrients and vitality, keeping her body in a healthy state.
This left me puzzled. Logically, parasitism involves a parasitic organism drawing nutrients from its host, resulting in an inevitable negative impact on the host.
How could it be that the host was receiving nutrients like this? It seemed that the Usum Child resembled more of a symbiotic relationship, yet it also seized the host’s consciousness, exerting control over her. From this perspective, it was still a parasitic relationship.
I wasn’t entirely clear on this, but luckily, such seeds of the Outer Gods were extremely rare; there should be no others in the world, and biologists wouldn’t need to study this creature’s ecology.
Of course, this was assuming the enormous plant didn’t get out or produce more embryos. It wasn’t dead yet; it had merely lost its mobility without a host. Once it found a new host, it would spring back to life.
Therefore, I had to eradicate it completely. It couldn’t fall into the hands of nobles or the Beelzebub Church. I needed to eliminate it right here, and I had roughly thought of a method.
However, before that, I had to completely separate the flower attached to the elf, which wouldn’t be easy as many roots and vines had already entered her body and intertwined with her nerves and blood vessels. It wouldn’t come out without surgery.
“Please don’t touch there! And don’t look…” The elf girl blushed as she said to me. Her tone lacked her race’s usual arrogance; it seemed she couldn’t maintain her pride with Older Brother Jayad’s touch.
But that didn’t mean she could casually tolerate a human touching or viewing her more private areas, especially since those tentacles were primarily deep into very embarrassing spots.
“What is your name, Miss?” Older Brother Jayad asked at that moment.
The elf girl hesitated for a moment but eventually told her benefactor her name, “Elia, Elia of the Twin Trees’ Light. You can just call me by my name.”
“Okay, Miss Elia. My sister is a doctor; her medical skills are excellent, and her technique is exquisite. She can help you remove these parasites from your body, ensuring there won’t be any scars or residues left behind. Please trust her.” Jayad said.
