Chapter 793 – Eating Some Vegetables Is Good for Your Body
El’s treatment was only a temporary emergency rescue, far from a complete cure. I’ll handle it temporarily for now, and once we get out, I’ll take her to Amelia’s Clinic for proper treatment. That’s my plan, but I don’t know if she’s taken it to heart.
Older Brother Jayad, being the gentleman he was, took off his robe and draped it over El. He then urged her to rest. El had just been saved and was extremely exhausted. Although she was still worried, she couldn’t stay awake any longer and fell asleep.
After treating Elf Miss, I needed to consider how to deal with this gigantic Usum Child. It was obvious that the only way to make it disappear from this world completely was to offer it as a midnight snack to Great Fly.
Coincidentally, Knight Captain was out for a ride on his Byakhee, probably wanting to enjoy the opportunity while it lasted. I took out the Divine Seal and walked towards the Usum Child, placing the seal directly onto one of its tentacles.
Flies are omnivores, and there are even species that specialize in feeding on nectar and plant sap. So, I guessed that Beelzebub, as the Demon King of Gluttony, wouldn’t be a picky eater and might not be satisfied with the large portion of vegetables I was offering.
Although the vegetables seemed to have been blown to bits by us, and infused with the power of many other Outer Gods, it didn’t matter. I’d treat it as a vegetable salad with a mixed sauce, and assume He liked it. I hoped He wouldn’t be ungrateful.
As the Divine Seal touched the plant’s surface, about a dozen small vines suddenly emerged, trying to entangle my hand. Although its main body was immobilized, it instinctively sensed danger and made a last-ditch effort to resist, intending to make me its next host.
Looking at the pitted and scarred tentacles on El’s sleeping feet, I absolutely refused to become this thing’s host. Off it goes to Beelzebub!
Older Brother Jayad and Sherris acted simultaneously. Jayad used Ruby Shortsword to hack at the extending tentacles, his blade slicing through them as easily as Cut Tofu, severing them one by one.
Compared to Older Brother Jayad, Sherris was more ferocious. She grabbed the vines with her bare hands, her claws, emitting black and red smoke, tearing the vines to shreds. The only regret was that these vines weren’t flesh, otherwise, she could have eaten them directly.
With the Usum Child’s final death throes resolved, it was now like a fish on a chopping block, albeit a rather large one.
Its inability to move met the requirements for a sacrifice. The Divine Seal began to emit light. I felt as if a hole had opened in front of the Divine Seal, a portal to another world.
Then, the Usum Child’s body began to twist. Such a massive body was being sucked into such a small hole, as if its body were liquid, being flushed down a toilet.
This absorption process was incredibly fast. In the blink of an eye, the mountain-like mass of vines in front of me was completely absorbed into the Divine Seal, even the vines spread throughout the Painted World were pulled in.
Those vines were rooted deep underground, with countless root systems and aerial roots that burrowed into the earth, making them deeply entrenched. Even with the strength to uproot a willow tree, they couldn’t be pulled out.
But the suction of the Divine Seal seemed infinite. The vines rooted in the earth were uprooted entirely, their aerial roots offering no resistance and instantly pulled out. Many firmly entrenched roots even pulled up entire patches of soil.
Under normal circumstances, pulling them out like this would more likely result in the plant breaking. However, this Usum Child’s body was clearly not an ordinary plant; its toughness was extremely high, almost impossible to break.
Thus, large sections of vines were torn from the earth, bringing a considerable amount of soil with them, all of which were sucked into the Divine Seal. It didn’t matter; a bit of soil just proved its freshness.
I felt the ground beneath me tremble incessantly. In an instant, the entire Usum Child was absorbed into the Divine Seal. The once vast, boundless giant plant was now nowhere to be seen.
The entire land looked as if it had been turned upside down, with numerous pits, ravines, and mounds of upturned earth. It looked vast, yet desolate.
At this moment, I felt a terrifying power emanating from within the Divine Seal, attempting to enter this Painted World. However, only a fraction of it could emerge and enter. It came in, but only a little.
The supreme will surveyed the desolate world with dissatisfaction. I could sense its displeasure, much like the feeling of being halfway through a hearty meal just as the appetizers were served, only to find there were no more dishes on the table.
Then, my hand holding the Divine Seal moved on its own. This feeling had occurred once before, when I was on Sturgeon No. 3. Even sacrificing a warehouse full of oil wasn’t enough, and it only stopped after scraping it all clean.
A terrifying suction force was generated, and all the already unconscious embryos were completely absorbed into the Divine Seal, leaving none behind. Only then did Beelzebub grudgingly withdraw its consciousness.
Our Demon King is all about leaving no trace behind, as his voracious appetite is hard to satisfy. However, what I sacrificed this time was far more significant than the previous two times – a Demigod, and a large and meaty one at that. At least it wouldn’t be so meager that it couldn’t even get stuck between his teeth.
Indeed, after the successful sacrifice, a massive influx of divine power awaited me. Given the high quality of this sacrifice, I anticipated receiving a very powerful reward.
This time, I obtained a Divine Spell that matched the characteristic of Gluttony: Devour Space. I haven’t had a chance to test its effects yet, but I know it’s a powerful direct offensive Divine Spell.
At this point, Knight Captain finally arrived, a bit late. He had been startled in the sky by the Usum Child’s sudden movement, thinking it had woken up to counterattack. However, he instead discovered that such a colossal plant had been sucked away by some unknown force.
He wanted to investigate what had happened, but the Byakhee, which had been obedient until then, suddenly became very nervous. No matter how much he urged it, it refused to go closer. Only after the giant Usum Child was completely absorbed did the Byakhee dare to fly nearer.
He actually knew the location of the incident, the core of the Usum Child, where we were. However, he didn’t directly witness what I had done. By the time he flew over, I had already put away the Divine Seal.
“What happened? What did you do?” Knight Captain initially thought it was an accident, but seeing our calm expressions, he knew it wasn’t. It was our actions that had caused such a massive Usum Child to disappear.
“I used an expulsion spell. It didn’t belong in this world to begin with, so I sent it away.” I replied. Expulsion spell is commonly used to deal with foreign entities not belonging to this world, and it’s one of the spells frequently used by the Wizard Association, at least according to the textbook.
Of course, the textbook didn’t describe the specific casting method, and I didn’t know it either, so I decided to fool Knight Captain with it. He wouldn’t understand magic anyway.
