Phasis was waiting at the inn for McGillis, wondering what he was up to.
McGillis, a pampered son, was getting into trouble with a group of rough, drunk adventurers.
He didn’t like that McGillis was heading to a brothel.
He happened to spot McGillis coming out of the brothel while he was hopping from one tavern to another, looking to drink more.
“How’s your wallet doing? *Hiccup*”
“Hang out with us! You’re a good one, aren’t you, mister rich boy?”
“We’ll take you somewhere fun! Better than *that* place (the brothel)!”
McGillis, surrounded by the booze-reeking adventurers, followed them, pointing at their wallets, their possessions, and the brothel, as they led him to this “place better than the brothel.”
(I won’t run, they’re easy prey, after all ♪)
McGillis, pretending to be intimidated by the adventurers’ tall stature and haughty atmosphere, was invited to the home of one of the adventurers’ acquaintances.
“Hey, hey, you guys… ♪ Who’s that kid? Oh, I see… ♪”
The acquaintance looked at McGillis (the child), thought about his friends’ intentions for visiting him to drink, and reached a conclusion.
He must have a lot of money.
They would make him sign a contract to extort it from him.
“Kids can’t drink alcohol. Have some of these nuts as a snack.”
The nuts were soaked in alcohol so they wouldn’t smell like alcohol.

The adventurers’ friend, smirking, put more nuts onto the wooden plate in front of McGillis.

The adventurers and their friend made McGillis (the kid, the child), whose cheeks were slightly flushed, create a contract to hand over his money.

When the adventurers presented the document, McGillis remembered his original objective.
Not to be eaten, but to eat their money.
“So I just need to write my name in this space, right? ♪?”
McGillis confirmed with the adventurers and wrote a false name in the name field.

But the name was not McGillis’s name.
It was a name from another otherworld.

Unwittingly, the adventurers waved the contract in front of their eyes and immediately went to extort money.
“…Eh! I don’t have any money on me?”

The adventurers went to meet the parents of McGillis (the kid, the child).
McGillis lacked information.
McGillis, not knowing whose house it was, guided the adventurers up to a point.
“This is it~~ *Hiccup*~~”
“Living in this house~~?!”
“We don’t have money for a kid to go to the brothel~~!”
The adventurers, completely oblivious.
They knocked on the door of the house.
“Hello. …Who is it?”
The mother appeared.
They thrust the contract at her and demanded payment for the amount stated in the contract, which was a certain daily sum, claiming that her child had made a deal.
“…Yes? *You*–!? Could you come here for a moment–?”
The mother’s reaction was subtly different.
Shouldn’t she say something to her son first?
The adventurers, while momentarily bewildered, waited for the father to appear.
“What is it? I have work to do… ? Who are you people?”

At this point, the adventurers had a certain conviction that something was wrong.
Like the mother, the father said nothing to his son. More than that, the father wasn’t looking at his son as if he were his son. His eyes clearly held the gaze one would direct at a stranger’s child (the same gaze they themselves had).
The adventurers glanced at McGillis.
This isn’t your house, is it!?
“So, why did you come to our house?”
“They’re saying something about money.”
The father was lightly briefed by the mother. No, the man.
He had a stern expression.
Ah, this is bad…
” ” ” Ah, we were…” ” ”
The adventurers tried to leave the scene.
But they were caught by the man’s gaze and couldn’t retreat.
The man, the woman, and McGillis didn’t care about the adventurers’ predicaments.
“What? Showing up at our house and then having no business? What’s that supposed to mean, huh?”
“I’ll go get someone.”
” ” ” Ah, wait! ” ” ”
They tried to stop the woman from calling acquaintances or soldiers.
This was truly bad. If the adventurers fled during their assignment and
brought a horde of monsters into the town.
If soldiers were called now, they would be arrested and demoted to the lowest rank.
After completing the service request, they would have to leave this town.
Unbeknownst to the adventurers, who were falling into such despair, McGillis slipped away from the scene.
” ” ” Ah?! ” ” ”
They finally noticed that McGillis (the kid, the child), whom they had intended to put in the front line against the man and woman, was gone.
“Huh? What are you, ‘Ah?!’ about? Demanding money, you drunks reeking of alcohol!”
The adventurers were yelled at by the man and then restrained by the people the woman had called.
They were taken to the barracks where criminals were detained.
The adventurers’ explanation, along with the contract they possessed and the smell of alcohol, meant they were not released and were taken to the detention center.

Meanwhile, McGillis was at the inn, greatly worrying Phasis.
Even if the worry was about avoiding danger.
