Brain appeared from the Royal Capital.
He came to investigate the serial bombing incidents where airships heading for the Royal Capital from the north were being blown up.
“Lord McGillis, it’s not much, but…”
“Ooh! Well done, Brain♪”
Before coming here.
He brought along the beautiful women from the towns and villages as souvenirs.
Brain’s souvenir is– Let’s savor it to our hearts’ content with Cannibal~♪
“Also, we apprehended the insolent individual who was watching Lord McGillis and the others.”
“Hm?”
He’s being glared at quite a bit… Huh?
Have I met him somewhere before…? Ah!
“Wasn’t that the brat called ‘Eyes of Something’ or something?”
McGillis is bad at remembering names.
Especially the names of guys.
Won and the others noticed the Unmanned Machine [Alexy] approaching from the south.
Tōyashi decided to go over the mountain range as an escape route.
However, even though it’s an exclusive machine, [Bloody Pierrot] is designed for close combat.
Without a flight-type support device (stabilizer), it takes a considerable amount of time, though it’s still better than escaping on foot.
Won and the others, having decided to take that gamble, moved. Sensing their movement, the enemy collapsed the slope in their path with cannon fire, destabilizing their footing. They then secured them with superior numbers once they stopped moving.
The machine performance of [Bloody Pierrot], modified for close combat, was superior.
However, they were apprehended after destroying two [Alexy] units.
“If you don’t surrender, we’ll destroy you.”
The [Alexy] units that had apprehended them were unmanned.
Won realized that the spearheads of the [Alexy] units waiting in the air were pointed at the apprehended machines, meaning they were about to be destroyed.
Won, with a look of regret, accepted the surrender along with Kongo.
And so, it leads to the present.
“McGillis!!”
“Lord McGillis.”
“Older Brother.”
“May I have permission to kill him?”
“Let me handle the disposal.”
A stun gun was fired from a child-sized (about my waist height) security drone.
Cannibal fired a rubber bullet with suppressed power from his handgun.
Brain extended a gun barrel for shooting from his slender arm.
Cannibal switched his bullets to live ammunition.
“Wait, wait, both of you!?”
“Yes.”
“Yeees.”
“Guh, aah, you—”
“…No, no.”
Won, enduring the numbness and pain, still tried to bite McGillis.
Kongo held him back with his shoulder, pressing against his back, and shook his head, telling Won that it was no good for now.
“What are these two?”
They protect each other. A deep trust?
Well then, for the public execution, I’ll torment the one I protected right in front of them♪
McGillis changed locations, and Won and the others were left with Brain.
☆→→Noble’s Mansion
Now then, the three of us—myself, Cannibal, and Brain (the security drone)—have a venue for a private discussion.
“Brain.”
“Yes.”
I was afraid to ask what happened to the Royal Capital after that, but I asked anyway.
“Lord Patch…”
“Ah, yes! That’s enough, that’s enough.”
McGillis cut off Brain’s words, ending the topic. In his mind, he recalled the image of an indignant Patch.
“Cannibal.”
“Yes, Older Brother♪”
Next on the agenda.
The fate of the two men who had been watching us from an unknown time.
“With my special ability, I’ll torment them until they suffer and then kill them♪ Leave it to me♪”
“Yeah, please do♪”
It’s confirmed that those who threatened our lives had exclusive machines. As for revenge against me, it’s a grave sin. The execution must be done in the most agonizing way possible. If not, second and third avengers will swarm upon me like demons. That would be quite troublesome.
“We have to weed out all grudges♪”
That’s why most of the residents of the nations I destroyed were brutally murdered. Because I wanted some blood, I killed everyone except for the studs and breeding stock. Now, there are no citizens of the enemy countries who know of my deeds. If there are any, they would be from other continents, or a few survivors who were lucky enough to escape. As for whether they will come rushing in for revenge all at once, the answer is no. They fear me. They won’t attack directly. At best, they’ll delegate the revenge to assassins or those called the strong. Well, even that is hindered by Brain and Patch. In my country, there are only a few who try to kill me.
With Brain’s arrival, the analysis of the discovered flesh fragments progressed, and it was concluded that Tōyashi had at least a possibility of being alive.
“Stubborn for a grave sinner.”
“Don’t say that, Cannibal. He was once an important figure to me.”
“Yes, Older Brother.”
We decided to post Tōyashi’s sketch domestically and head to the Royal Capital with the Cannibal Company to publicly execute Won and the others. I didn’t realize Won and the others were the serial bombers. Ah, good thing I didn’t go back on the airship until Brain arrived.
“You never know what will lead to good fortune.”
Brain told me that the devastation in the Royal Capital had improved with repair work, but the scene of the Demon King’s domain, demon summoning, and the evil atmosphere of the upper echelons that I last saw still lingered in my mind. I’m worried, truly worried, whether Pesword and the others are truly able to carry out repairs under Patch’s supervision.
“Lord McGillis, President Can. Won and Kongo, whom we captured, attempted to escape.”
Sigh.
“And you recaptured them?”
“Yes, they are currently sedated.”
“Well done.”
Cannibal called out to the employees who prevented Won and the others from escaping and offered words of encouragement. He’s a good guy. But, the gap between his appearance and his true nature… I’m a dick, and Cannibal’s… Ugh, just remembering it makes me feel sick.
McGillis felt unwell and went to bed early in his room.
Seeing this, Cannibal called out to the female employees and ordered them to nurse him with all their might.
McGillis and his entourage returned to the Royal Capital smoothly, escorted by Brain ([Alexy]).
