Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
The speed of magical communication was incredibly fast.
The Pope had already dispatched a large number of Templar Knights to Mudu Winter Town for support, but what he hadn’t anticipated was just how quickly Mudu Winter Town would be breached.
The Empire’s soldiers’ levels were lower than the Players’, and they feared death. When a person felt fear, seven parts of their strength would vanish.
In less than ten minutes, Xi Wei had carved a path from Mudu Winter Town’s entrance to the church.
The soldiers and the brainwashed Demi-humans met gruesome ends, with very few dying intact.
Most were either smashed to half their bodies by greatswords or embedded in the ruins, becoming a gruesome amalgam of armor and flesh. The slightly luckier ones were left with only their upper bodies, still crawling in pain on the ground.
The frenzied Demi-humans could not be redeemed.
The Empire’s soldiers also paid the price for their sins, even though Xi Wei didn’t specifically intend to punish them.
He was simply eliminating enemies.
The Players watched in stunned silence as the figure, whose armor was stained blood-red and resembled a demon god, inspired both fear and awe in their hearts.
This was a man who was a weapon from head to toe, not just the greatsword in his hand.
His elbows were sharp battle-axes, his knees were fierce ramming horns, and his legs were scythe-like hunting knives, all concealing deadly killing intent.
Each attack was a brutal aesthetic, an ultimate destruction, a passionate performance of annihilation.
Compared to Ye Hao, the protagonist who preferred to stay behind, the Lord of Eagle Territory was a general who charged headfirst into battle.
The Players couldn’t help but compare the two, only to realize there was no comparison.
Many Players had already silently activated their recording devices.
Along the way, they had followed the Lord of Eagle Territory, breaking through all resistance. They only needed to finish off the already crippled soldiers, essentially gaining experience for free, which was incredibly satisfying.
Meanwhile, Xi Wei’s path was blocked by a modified Orc.
This Orc had a tiger’s head and a human’s body, with broad shoulders and a stout waist, standing over three meters tall. The massive muscles all over its body made it look incredibly bulky, but also bestowed upon it formidable strength.
Its eyes were blood-red, devoid of any clarity, clearly indicating its mind was under control.
Since the establishment of Mudu Winter Town, the Holy See’s research into Demi-human bloodlines had become increasingly insane, yet it had also yielded more results.
The Orc before them was one such result:
[Name: Belut]
[Identity: Tiger-headed Man (Controlled)]
[Strength: Tribe Chieftain level – Level 53 (Temporary) (51-60)]
[Skills: Savage Charge, Berserk, War Cry, Rending Tiger Claws, Life Regeneration (Modified), Physical Enhancement (Modified)]
[Equipment: Horse-chopping Saber (Normal)]
[Orc Empire Reputation: 5 (He was an obscure nobody both before and after the experiment)]
The Orc before him was undoubtedly powerful. From the Players’ perspective, its HP Bar was abnormally long, and two buffs were always present below it:
[Life Regeneration: +0.5% HP/s]
[Mental Enslavement: +20% Tenacity, -100% Sanity]
The Orc’s roar was ferocious as it displayed its physique and claws. The Horse-chopping Saber in its hand was two meters long, exuding immense power.
The Lord of Eagle Territory, on the other hand, was silent. He gripped his greatsword with both hands, the blade pointing diagonally towards the sky. Behind him, a golden lion phantom merged with his figure, its eyes fierce and ready to strike.
This might be a battle of the ages, a clash of titans.
The Players all thought so and had already found their vantage points.
However, they witnessed that after the initial collision.
The Orc’s Horse-chopping Saber was directly pushed aside by the Lord of Eagle Territory’s immense strength. Following that, it could only parry and retreat under the Lord of Eagle Territory’s relentless, storm-like heavy slashes.
Golden Qi sword slashes tore through the surrounding buildings.
The Horse-chopping Saber in the Orc’s hand was being pressured by the greatsword, emitting a bone-chilling creak. Finally, it could not withstand the force and, with a “crack,” snapped.
The greatsword, carrying fragments of the Horse-chopping Saber, pierced through the Orc’s abdomen. The Lord of Eagle Territory’s eyes were cold. He twisted with both hands, and the Orc immediately let out a pained roar.
Its HP plummeted significantly.
However, it still had other weapons – the chains on its wrists and its own tiger claws.
But its sharp tiger claws were soon dripping with blood and shattered after just a few blows from the Lord of Eagle Territory’s slashes, so much so that they were embedded in its own flesh.
The greatsword in the Lord of Eagle Territory’s hand, with immense power and weight, smashed down towards the Orc. The Dragon Crystal Armor amplified his entire body’s strength, and the dragon phantom roared, its aura as deep and precipitous as an abyss, incredibly heavy.
“Clang! Clang! Clang!”
Accompanied by the sounds of chains and the greatsword colliding, the Orc could only barely parry. After a few blows, with a “crack,” the chains in its hands also shattered under the Lord of Eagle Territory’s furious sword strikes.
The fragments of the chains flew out like shrapnel, instantly killing a lucky Player who was spectating.
The ground cracked and shattered. The greatsword in Xi Wei’s hand was like a sledgehammer, progressively driving this Orc “nail” into the ground.
With the enhancement of Dragon Vein power, except for skills with strange effects like the Black Sword, Xi Wei feared no direct frontal confrontation.
Even against a nun, with his Qi fully charged, he would never suffer defeat.
The Orc Belut, unable to bear the humiliation, erupted with a circle of blood-red light and roared at the sky, a [Berserk] buff appearing below its HP Bar. Just as the Players thought the Orc was about to make a comeback.
The Lord of Eagle Territory stepped on the Orc’s knee and fiercely struck its face with his sword.
The Orc’s howl abruptly stopped, and it collapsed weakly to the ground.
Players: “…”
The Lord of Eagle Territory walked up to the Orc, crouched down, and lifted its head.
“Boom!”
The ground trembled, and the Orc’s head smashed fiercely into the ground.
Immediately after, before the Players’ eyes and under the recording devices, this strong and tall Orc was gripped by the head by the Lord of Eagle Territory and repeatedly smashed into the ground.
Cracked stone bricks, splattering blood, the Orc’s struggle turned into slight twitches, and its HP Bar disappeared in large chunks.
A powerful Life Regeneration skill became a joke under the Lord of Eagle Territory’s brutal attacks.
The figure, gripping the Orc’s head and covered in blood, was deeply etched into the Players’ minds.
Even this recorded video, which captured all the violent aesthetics, would become the belief of all Berserker Players in the future.
Xi Wei stood up, took a deep breath, and casually threw the Orc’s severed head to the ground. He shouldered the dripping greatsword, his blood-stained Knight Boots stepping over the Orc’s broken and tattered corpse.
Around them, apart from the Players, all living forces outside the church had been slaughtered by him alone, with one sword.
