Chapter 160: The City Wall Falls
“What?!”
Ozban exclaimed. He looked around and realized that the entire city wall defense had fallen into disarray without him knowing. The wails of soldiers gradually reaching his ears sounded genuine.
The enemy had already broken through.
He felt a surge of panic but forced himself to calm down.
Having once studied at the Mage Academy, he possessed superb military knowledge and would not let minor incidents rattle him.
This was Ozban’s pride as a Legion Mage!
“Where is my Mage Regiment?” Ozban asked calmly, his expression serious.
A soldier cautiously glanced up at him and mumbled,
“Your Mage Regiment has been transferred to the Royal Capital…”
“Where is my Guard Squad? And the Sky Knights?”
“You said you didn’t need a Guard Squad, that the maids were enough…”
“Lord Sky Knight said… said that with the Destruction-class Magic Cannon, even a pig could defend the city wall, so they went to the tavern for a drink…”
“Those damn magic elementals, what am I supposed to do now!”
Ozban roared in anger and disbelief, like a pig being led to the slaughter.
The soldier lowered his head and remained silent. *What am I, a mere guard, supposed to know?*
*Perhaps you should ask your maid what to do?*
However, regardless of Ozban’s regret and rage, Xi Wei and the Terrifying Phantom Riders were drawing closer. Ozban’s conspicuous presence among the crowd, mainly due to the maid he had with him, immediately caught Xi Wei’s eye.
*Rhode City is only sending one Archmage to defend the wall?*
*Isn’t that too lax…*
Xi Wei silently praised Marquis Rhode but did not slow down his actions. Gripping his greatsword, he descended upon the Archmage like a falling meteor.
Ozban’s heart pounded as he felt the chilling killing intent behind him. He roughly shoved the maid in his arms forward. A mournful scream echoed, and the maid, who had just been sweet to him, was decapitated by the enemy’s sword.
The maid’s death bought Ozban a moment to breathe.
He immediately tore open a scroll, and a mystical magic light emanated as two massive Fire Elementals appeared on the city wall.
This was one of his life-saving measures: summoning two Sky Knight-level Fire Elementals from the elemental plane to act as guards and disrupt the enemy, giving him time to chant.
Even half a minute was enough.
He had purchased this scroll at a high price from a Source Mage.
This was the tough life of a Legion Mage. But once he unleashed his magic, the enemy would have to grovel before him.
Xi Wei didn’t even glance at the two Fire Elementals, as two Terrifying Phantom Riders had already engaged them. He continued to charge towards Ozban with his greatsword.
“Damn it!” Seeing that his Fire Elementals had failed to achieve anything, Ozban gritted his teeth, took out another scroll, and tore it open. A golden magic shield immediately enveloped him.
Just then, Xi Wei’s greatsword, striking from behind, slammed into the golden shield with a “clang.”
“It’s useless!”
Ozban chuckled. He refrained from explaining why it was useless, knowing that the more he spoke, the more problems could arise. Instead, he raised his staff and began to chant rapidly.
Xi Wei’s brow twitched. *This scoundrel isn’t playing by the rules. Shouldn’t he be boasting about his trump card normally?*
*Why is he chanting after just grunting a couple of times?*
He detested mage shields, especially those reinforced with compressed magic through scroll matrix etching. They were both stubborn and difficult to break.
Xi Wei looked around. Seeing the magic light in front of Ozban growing brighter, he stopped attacking the shield and instead poured his Qi into his sword, slashing at the city wall.
At this moment, Ozban had been cornered by Xi Wei to the very edge of the city wall.
Although the magic-infused city wall was incredibly sturdy, a Sky Knight’s power could still cause some damage.
As a result, a corner of the city wall was cleanly sliced off by Xi Wei, and Ozban fell along with it.
Ozban was dazed by the fall. Although he was unharmed, his incantation had been interrupted.
Before he could even get up from the ground, a deafening “clang” resounded from above him.
The Sky Knight had returned.
Ozban, looking at the unyielding shield, finally couldn’t help but mock,
“It’s unbreakable. This is a Source Mage-level magic shield. I used the beast hide of a high-level magical beast, the Blackwater Crocodile, and a precisely constructed magic matrix. I infused it with magic for seven full days to create it! And I haven’t been able to make another one since. What would be the point if it could be shattered so easily?”
Ozban sneered and began chanting again.
Now that he was off the city wall, he had no need to hold back. He prepared to cast a Meteor Fall to send this Knight and his army to hell.
“Can’t break it, huh?”
Seeing that the city wall’s defensive power had been neutralized by the assault, Xi Wei silently issued a mission to the players and snapped his fingers at Ozban.
With a crisp “snap,” accompanied by a ghostly howl, ten wisps of gray smoke appeared ethereally around Ozban, condensing into ten tall, mysterious, heavily armored knights.
Watching Ozban’s face gradually turn pale with despair, Xi Wei grinned ferociously and viciously commanded,
“Smash him hard!”

“Nobody Does Human Things” did not join the player crowd. He was currently the player representative. The players could act recklessly, but he couldn’t. So, he turned and found Clemon among the Eagle Territory army hidden in the shadows.
“Your Excellency, the city wall has fallen. The Lord has ordered us to launch the final assault.”
Clemon nodded upon hearing this. He immediately turned, drew the long sword at his waist, and issued his command with a vigorous voice:
“All troops, attack! Objective: Rhode City!”
“Roar—” The assembled army let out an imposing roar.
Accompanied by solemn war drums, an army of twenty thousand men surged out from behind the hillside like a tide, charging towards Rhode City with an unstoppable momentum.
