Chapter 58: He Escaped?
(Player Name) (M) crouched on the ground, hands clasped, index and middle fingers pointing forward with heroic momentum, then suddenly twisting!
“Praise! Lightning pierces the dawn!”
“Glory! The longsword shreds flesh and blood!”
What kind of feeling was that?
Claudia felt a thunderclap explode in her mind, instantly shattering all her magical knowledge. She couldn’t describe it. All she knew was that something had shattered along with her fragile heart.
She no longer wanted to chant any spells. Her chant had devolved into a shrill scream. All she wanted was to incinerate the human warrior behind her with her fire magic, turn him into ash, mix his ashes with feces, and feed them to dogs.
“Damn it, I’m out of strength, even my magic circulation is disturbed!”
Archmage Claudia gritted her teeth. However, as an Archmage, she quickly recovered and wasn’t about to be defeated by a mere player.
She stumbled a few steps, endured the pain in her back, and turned around. In two seconds, Claudia finished chanting a weakened version of Dragon’s Breath. The surging flames instantly engulfed (Player Name) (M), who was still marveling at his wiggling fingers and chuckling foolishly.
Although (Player Name) (M) was sent back to the resurrection point, his sacrifice was worth it. He had contributed to the organization’s victory.
With the battlefield-covering magic of the Archmage interrupted, the knights who had been holding on desperately lost their spirit. The strength in their bodies drained away like water from a reservoir with its plug removed. Their mighty bodies became soft and weak, passively enduring the players’ onslaught.
Compared to the demoralized Knight Order, the players grew more courageous and their morale soared even higher. They had also witnessed (Player Name) (M)’s brilliant maneuver and cheered for him.
“Holy crap! Awesome!”
“So flashy, so flashy, I want to try that move too.”
“As expected of a great player bound to Supreme Cloth (M), his thought process is on another level.”
“Knight Giegie, weren’t you guys arrogant just now? Why are you all limp now?”
Under the relentless assault of the players, these knights took countless blows. Eventually, their Qi was depleted, and they fell to the ground in despair, looking thoroughly defeated.
“I, I surrender! Please stop… sob, sob…”
A bruised knight knelt on the ground, begging for mercy. In the past three minutes, he had been slapped on both sides of his face more than ten times, had his nostrils and eyes poked by these madmen, and had even been “attacked” down below seven or eight times. Who could withstand this? He wasn’t wearing iron pants! It was sheer madness! The lunatics had even torn apart his leg armor.
As the knights surrendered one after another, the players became more restrained in their attacks. At most, they would “attack” below the waist, avoiding vital areas. The battle gradually subsided, with the remaining soldiers captured and rounded up, and those who resisted relentlessly eliminated. Ultimately, only a few knights were killed by the players; most survived.
Living knights could be exchanged for rewards with the King of Winter (Xi Wei), which was much more profitable than the experience points and rewards gained from killing a knight. Therefore, the players were relatively restrained. Furthermore, the game was quite bloody, and the warrior players felt somewhat uncomfortable killing these game monsters. Even though the system would censor some scenes with mosaics, the human brain would still make associations.
When the players approached Claudia, the beautiful female Legion Mage, she was bent over on the ground, her exquisite buttocks in the air, searching for bone ash. Her eyes were vacant, and she was muttering incoherently, clearly mentally unstable. A warm trickle of blood slowly flowed down her thigh beneath her highly split mage robe, following the curve of her rounded leg.
“Where’s the ash? Where’s the bone ash? How can it not be here?”
“Hehehe…”
(Player Name) (M), who had already respawned and returned, approached Claudia, the Legion Master Mage, with a cold smile and asked in a flat tone: “Oh, beautiful female mage, are you looking for golden bone ash, silver bone ash, or perhaps you’re looking for my degenerate bone ash?”
The entire war neared its end after the two Archmages lost their combat effectiveness. The Archmages were their last hope and dignity, but now, one was captured, and the other was pulverized by the Mountain King’s siege cannon.
As long as they surrendered, they could live. The soldiers, reassembled by Kleon, still clinging to life, dropped their weapons. Kleon had already been pinned to the ground by Xi Wei. The ground had cracked into a large pit from the impact of Xi Wei’s longsword. Kleon lay within, in his own blood, murmuring the name of Earl Amper, whom he had watched grow up, as he died.
“Everyone in this world has their own stance. Since you are the invader, be prepared to be ground into bone ash.”
Xi Wei drew his longsword, his expression cold. His gaze swept across the chaotic battlefield, so pungent that he dared not take a deep breath. He resolved to use such sinister methods less often in the future.
“Have you found Viscount Budun (Male), that rat?” Xi Wei turned and asked Clemons, lightly covering his nose and mouth.
“Your Majesty, I am very sorry. It seems he escaped when our Venom Dragons appeared. I have already sent people to search for him, but it is uncertain if we will find him.” Clemons bowed slightly, his head lowered. His armor was stained with the enemy’s blood, and his tone was full of apology. Letting an enemy escape was a very foolish act, even if Viscount Budun (Male) was not a formidable opponent. However, Clemons knew Xi Wei. This man, whose majesty grew stronger each day, had an extremely strong desire for control. He could not tolerate any flaws and detested the feeling of being remembered.
Hearing this, Xi Wei’s expression turned grim, his hand gripping the Conqueror’s Longsword tightly, making a creaking sound. That scoundrel had escaped last time. He couldn’t attack Budun Territory then for fear of provoking a national war. Now, the Winter Kingdom was in ruins, and if Viscount Budun (Male) escaped back to the Andor Empire, he would still be helpless. He couldn’t create a powerful enemy for himself over a mere Viscount Budun (Male). He could at most send people to assassinate Viscount Budun (Male). Xi Wei grew increasingly angry, feeling extremely vexed.
“Oh my, oh my~ Who has made our valiant King of Winter so angry? Is it him?”
A melodious voice, like a nightingale’s song, suddenly came from nearby. The gentle tone was as if a young girl was whispering softly in his ear. Xi Wei knew this voice. He had even spanked its owner and hung her on the city wall before.
Xi Wei looked up in astonishment. At the edge of the battlefield, a beautiful girl, seemingly bathed in holy light, was slowly approaching. Her delicate, pale feet, though bare, were unstained by dust. Her rosy lips curled into a gentle smile, and two shallow dimples were sweet and captivating. Her gaze was as gentle as flowing water. This girl was as pure as an angel walking the earth, as ethereal as an elf untouched by worldly affairs. Of course, this was all true, provided one overlooked Viscount Budun (Male), who was being held by her single hand by the neck, covered in wounds, miserable, on the verge of death, as if he had been tortured to death.

My new book is out: Transmigrated as an Evil Dragon, King Sacrifices Princess at the Start. It’s a sweet, single-female-lead pure romance. The protagonist is a DnD-style black dragon, and the overall tone of the book is about nurturing a lord, farming, and easygoing humor, though there will be war and invasion. The protagonist follows an evolution path, with a goal similar to Deathwing. Brothers who like dragon stories can check it out.
