Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
Although he was late and didn’t get to enjoy the fun, Gou Fugui still managed to secure the right to use a Venom Dragon.
Riding on the dragon, he and hundreds of other dragons circled down the cliff, unleashing Flame Bursts at the demons climbing the rock face.
“Boom boom—”
The fireballs of Flame Burst not only blew away the demons clinging to the cliff but also shattered the rocks.
In the thick smoke, large chunks of rock tumbled down the cliff face, affecting all the demons in the way. They roared and fell to the bottom of the cliff.
“Awesome! Cool!”
Emerging from the explosion’s smoke on his dragon, Gou Fugui clenched a fist and roared excitedly.
He quickly chanted, and seven or eight more Flame Burst fireballs appeared around him. However, he was no longer satisfied with bombarding the targets on the cliff face.
“Brother, have you seen the King of Winter?”
“Let’s go help him!”
The Venom Dragon Gou Fugui was riding was actually a player. The two were now in a party and could communicate across species.
“Isn’t that too far? I feel like it might be dangerous!”
This Venom Dragon player was clearly very cautious.
“What are you afraid of? We can both resurrect. Let’s go, let’s do something big!”
Gou Fugui stroked the Venom Dragon player’s horn and continued to persuade him.
“That’s right! Let’s fuck him up!”
Anyway, Gou Fugui was resurrecting in the Novice Village of the Abyss, and the Resurrection Crystal hadn’t shattered yet. This was a good opportunity!
With that thought, the Venom Dragon player spread its wings and glided towards the King of Winter.
Within a few breaths, they could already see the King of Winter locked in a bloody struggle.
Both the Venom Dragon player and Gou Fugui were shocked, and they immediately activated their recording functions to capture the precious scene.
In their vision, the King of Winter was fighting three Balrogs alone.
His entire body was covered in the demons’ crimson blood. Much of this blood had already coagulated and turned black, forming a dark shell.
At this moment, he was gripping the demon horn on the head of one Balrog with one hand, pinning the thirty-meter-tall Balrog to the ground.
“Boom!” A deafening sound.
Dust swirled around, and the stench of sulfur grew stronger. The behemoth, as big as a small hill, fell to the ground. Its head was held down by the King of Winter, its limbs flailing and scratching as it roared in anger. But it couldn’t break free from the man’s iron grip.
“You demons are truly weak!” The King of Winter’s voice was cold.
As he spoke, he raised his long sword with his right hand. The sword descended slowly and steadily. With a “hiss,” a crescent-shaped Qi Slash flashed, and the Balrog’s head was severed.
Blood rained down from the sky. The King of Winter tossed the Balrog’s head towards another Balrog like garbage.
“A bunch of trash living in the Abyss.”
The cold voice echoed. The King of Winter stomped his foot, instantly appearing to the right of another Balrog. He twisted his waist and kicked, “Bang!”
The air pressure exploded, and space distorted. The second Balrog’s horn shattered into pieces, and its body spiraled outwards, crashing into a nearby rock face. It tried to struggle out of the rock face, but a long sword had already precisely impaled its heart.
“Still trying to attack the main material plane.” The King of Winter turned to face the last Balrog, his eyes filled with a killing intent far more ferocious than any demon’s.
His Knight Boots crunched on blood and gore, making a dull “thud.” The Balrog was intimidated by his aura and stumbled backward.
“Heh.”
“You deem yourselves worthy?”
With that, his figure vanished from the spot. Gou Fugui and the Venom Dragon player could barely track the King of Winter’s phantom-like speed, only seeing a flash of golden Qi light. When their vision refocused, the man’s figure was already gripping the Balrog’s neck.
Ants can lift objects 400 times their own weight. Compared to the thirty-meter-tall Balrog, the less-than-two-meter-tall King of Winter was like a tiny ant. Yet, the King of Winter floated in mid-air, gripping the Balrog’s neck and lifting it.
“Die.” A low roar, like a thunderclap.
The King of Winter swung his right fist. With a “bang,” the Balrog’s head exploded like a shattered watermelon, splattering red and white viscous matter everywhere.
The battle was over. The charging demons instinctively avoided this area. It was only then that Gou Fugui and the Venom Dragon player noticed that within a radius of several hundred meters, demon corpses were piled high, forming a seven or eight-meter-high wall at the edges. Inside this wall of corpses, severed limbs and arms lay scattered, and rivers of blood flowed.
The King of Winter pulled out his long sword and his gaze fell in the direction of Gou Fugui and the Venom Dragon player. A flash of bloodlust flickered in his eyes. He raised his arm, and a white rainbow shot into the sky, splashing blood rain.
“Holy crap!” The dazzling sword light hurt Gou Fugui’s eyes, and he exclaimed, closing them involuntarily. “I’m going to die, I’m going to die. I didn’t expect to be killed by a friendly BOSS. Has the King of Winter gone mad? Is he not sparing his allies now?”
“Huh? Why isn’t there a death notification?” After a breath, Gou Fugui and the Venom Dragon player, cowering, were surprised to find themselves alive.
“Crackle, snap.” The sound of flesh hitting the ground came from behind them. The smell of blood filled their nostrils, and demon blood splattered onto Gou Fugui’s cheek. He turned around blankly.
Only then did he realize that a Balrog with ill intentions was behind him and the Venom Dragon player. But it had already been cut in half by the King of Winter’s sword.
“In battle, don’t get distracted.” Xi Wei glanced at the stunned Gou Fugui and the dragon player and reminded them gently. He evaporated the blood and flesh from his body with Qi, making him look clean again.
“How’s it up there? Has the main force of Winter City arrived?”
“Yes, yes, they’ve held their ground.” Gou Fugui nodded like a pecking chicken, and he and the dragon player next to him looked at the King of Winter with admiration.
“Then let’s go up. It’s almost time.”
“You don’t mind giving me a ride, do you?” Xi Wei smiled slightly, his coldness and killing intent melting away like ice and snow, returning to the familiar, majestic yet approachable King of Winter that the players knew.
“Not at all, not at all! It’s his honor to be ridden by you!” Gou Fugui happily responded to the King of Winter on behalf of the Venom Dragon player. The Venom Dragon player also happily nodded its large head.
Xi Wei pursed his lips, too lazy to comment on the terrible phrasing.
“Let’s go quickly. Something is coming.” A sense of danger grew stronger, making Xi Wei’s heart pound. He couldn’t help but urge them on.
As the group returned to the top of the cliff, the entire world suddenly darkened. Xi Wei turned his head. The Blood Moon was obscured by a colossal figure, as massive as a mountain. It was the Demon Lord, Felton. The oppressive aura, like an abyss, made Xi Wei’s nerves jangle, and his internal alarm bells rang loudly. He glanced at the time remaining until the Resurrection Crystal shattered. 5 seconds left.
“Hit and run, so stimulating.” Xi Wei chuckled inwardly and breathed a sigh of relief.
Felton corresponds to the ram-headed description from before.
