Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
Chapter 31: Behemoths and Breakthrough
Biden Bloodfang felt the trouble posed by the young human knight before him and no longer held back, activating skills such as Fury, Legion Will, and Blood Frenzy.
“Orc Legion, fight to the death with me!”
“Lok’tar Ogar!”
Under the enhancement of Fury and Legion Will, Biden Bloodfang and the surrounding orc soldiers were all strengthened, becoming faster, stronger, and more fearless of death.
This suddenly increased the pressure on the knights who followed Xi Wei into the fray, and one or two knights were even thrown off their horses by the frenzied orc soldiers.
Biden Bloodfang and Xi Wei’s battle had entered a white-hot stage. The surrounding knights and orc soldiers quickly avoided this area, as no one wanted to be drawn into a battle of this level.
The two gradually began to fight with their lives on the line, their weapons clashing and producing ear-piercing metal friction sounds. However, Xi Wei grew stronger with each successive battle, while Biden Bloodfang gradually became exhausted and began to barely parry.
“You think you’ve won just like this? Human knight.”
Biden Bloodfang sneered in broken Common Tongue.
His situation was dire. The young knight’s sword strikes were incredibly heavy, not only killing his long-time companion, the direwolf Kahn, but also inflicting him with severe internal injuries. His entire skeleton creaked ominously.
Despite this, Biden Bloodfang remained unfazed. While parrying the cleaving greatsword, he continued in broken Common Tongue:
“I admit you are powerful, young knight! But look at your squires, they are almost exhausted.”
“Yet I still have many orc soldiers, and furthermore, perhaps I have even more soldiers?”
Xi Wei’s eyes sharpened at his words, and a bad premonition arose in his heart.
The orc leader before him suddenly parried his longsword, rolled backward, and then pulled a strangely shaped bone whistle from his waist.
“Not good! This dog is going to call for reinforcements!”
Xi Wei reacted quickly, throwing his greatsword forward. It was about to strike the orc leader.
But at that moment, two orc infantrymen, shouting “Lok’tar” (For victory), fearlessly charged forward and blocked Xi Wei’s greatsword.
Xi Wei frowned, immediately spurred his horse forward, and drew the greatsword stuck in the two orcs. By the time he looked up, the orc leader had already blown the bone whistle.
“Squeak—!”
“Roar!”
“Roar—!”
As if in response to the whistle, terrifying roars echoed one after another from behind a hill, followed by a group of seven or eight monstrous beasts with hippopotamus heads, long tusks, lion legs, crocodile backs, and gray manes charging out.
“It’s Behemoths!”
One knight, who was closer to the hill, instantly spotted the group of monsters that had appeared on the battlefield. In his stupor, he was grabbed by a Behemoth’s giant claw, swallowed whole, and screamed.
“B-Behemoths, Lord, retreat quickly!”
“Gods above… aren’t they supposed to be in the North?”

Behemoth beasts.
Looking at the information panel of the Behemoth beasts, Xi Wei pursed his lips. The Qi in his body was already dwindling after the prolonged battle. Knights without Qi would be significantly weakened.
He could not stay here any longer; he had to break through!
He cleaved through the surrounding orc infantrymen with two sword strikes and raised one fist high.
“All knights, break out outwards from my position! Don’t get bogged down here any longer!”
The panicked knights calmed down instantly upon hearing their lord’s voice. They used their lances or longswords to ward off the orc infantrymen’s weapons and then, without lingering, followed Xi Wei on horseback.
Xi Wei and the knights were deeply surrounded, while the Sword Shield Soldiers outside fought desperately to open a path for their lord.
But there were more and more orc infantrymen around, and the Behemoth beasts were getting closer.
On the flank of the battlefield, Clemon looked anxious. However, he and Talomb were also blocked by a large number of orc infantrymen fighting fearlessly, preventing them from coming to the rescue in time.
Even the Players felt anxious. Although most of the Players had been beaten by Xi Wei, they couldn’t help but develop a favorable impression of such a powerful and valiant NPC. Many warrior Players desperately tried to break through the orc infantry’s defense line, but unfortunately, their levels were too low.
The Orc Legion had decided to consume Xi Wei and his party entirely, regardless of the cost, and they seemed on the verge of succeeding.
“Damn it! Lord of Eagle Territory, don’t die! We need your loot!”
“Where are those Minotaurs?”
“Don’t know. Maybe they were held up by another orc unit? We haven’t seen them at all.”
“Boohoo… Lord brother, my child is waiting for you to return and feed them milk…”
“Warriors, keep pushing forward! Mages, blast them with spells! Are you not eating?”
“Can’t you see we’re out of mana? Aren’t we anxious too?”

Just when everyone thought the outcome was inevitable.
Outside a stretch of mountain forest near the flank of the battlefield, accompanied by the rough roars of Minotaurs:
“Strength and loyalty!”
“Bloodhoof Clan, let’s wrestle with those big guys!”
“Hoo ha!”
Bane Bloodhoof, wielding a great axe, kicked an orc infantryman blocking his path into the air and led his Bloodhoof Clan into the battle.
“By the Earthmother, the orcs in this world are truly ugly and short!”
Carl muttered with disgust. In the horrified gaze of an orc infantryman, he smashed the orc’s head into its chest with a single punch, then roared: “They are a disgrace to orcs!”
Bane Bloodhoof charged towards a Behemoth even larger than himself, axe in one hand, blocking the Behemoth’s extended claw with the other. He unleashed incredible strength, even managing to over-the-shoulder throw the Behemoth onto the ground.
“Come on, big guy! Get up!”
With the assistance of the Bloodhoof Clan, the pressure on Xi Wei and his knights was greatly reduced. They quickly carved a bloody path out of the orc infantry encirclement.
While ordinary Minotaur Warriors could not defeat a Behemoth alone, they teamed up in pairs to hold back most of the Behemoths.
The remaining two Behemoths were no longer a significant threat. Xi Wei dealt with one, and Clemon dealt with the other.
If not for the fact that these minions of Satan were so difficult to tame, Xi Wei would have really considered capturing one to pull his cart.
The knights who had rendezvoused with the Sword Shield Soldiers regrouped and charged back, slaughtering the remaining orc infantrymen under the cover of the Sword Shield Soldiers.
The Orc Legion’s tide had turned.
Biden Bloodfang leaned weakly against his fallen comrade. He stroked Kahn’s wolf head, closing his direwolf’s eyes for him.
The surrounding orcs were killed one by one by the human soldiers.
Orcish honor dictated that they would never surrender; death in battle was the destined end for every orc warrior.
