Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
Chapter 314: Angus sensed something was wrong
The Ghost Dragon Angus had reacted.
He felt that the knight from before looked familiar.
Recalling carefully.
Wasn’t that the Lord of Eagle Territory who had snatched the prize during the Dragonflame City campaign?
Then he thought of the Holy Light Cross Slash from before.
The momentum was slightly weaker than the previous Qi Slash.
It was obvious that it was not done by the same person.
The Lord of Eagle Territory wanted to hide his identity with this Holy Light Cross Slash.
Unfortunately, at that time, he had only felt everything around him through the perspective of the Skeletal Knight.
He had not seen through the Lord of Eagle Territory’s trick immediately.
But it was still not too late!
Angus revealed his body from the Deathly Shadow Cloud. Even though he was now a Ghost Dragon, he still maintained the majestic appearance of his Golden Dragon form.
On his face, soft spines like a beard grew on his chin, which should have made him look wise like a sage, but now these white, bony soft spines only made him look ferocious and terrifying.
Pale horns were surrounded by grey-green undead energy, extending backward along his nose and forehead, echoing the two ruffles adorning his long neck.
His wings looked like tattered ship sails, extending from his bony shoulders all the way to the tip of his tail. Undead energy permeated every corner of his body, forming a misty black flesh and blood on this dragon-like skeleton.
Angus raised his dragon head, and undead energy began to gather in his ferocious mouth. His pale green dragon eyes coldly stared at the ants obscured by the Deathly Shadow Cloud.
The fierce north wind howled overhead.
Angus was certain that at this moment, he was the harbinger of destruction.
He flapped his tattered, decaying dragon wings downwards.
The strong wind blew the surroundings into darkness.
Undead energy splashed onto the entire battlefield, filling every gap occupied by human soldiers, like evenly dousing a prisoner about to be burned at the stake with lamp oil.
“Roar—”
His pale green dragon eyes brightened even more.
Pale dragon breath spewed out, and an extremely icy aura instantly permeated the entire battlefield.
That strange aura descended upon the players silently.
It seemed to cause no damage to the players, but the players could clearly feel their body temperature rapidly dropping.
At first, they just shivered involuntarily, their teeth chattering, and their legs became stiff and unresponsive. But soon, they felt as if they were in a furnace; the icy dragon breath was so cold it felt hot.
The players felt weak and drowsy.
For some reason, strange images of bonfires in the snow suddenly appeared in their minds. They seemed to see themselves walking in the snow and ice, holding a bottle of hot wine and drinking it with delight.
But soon, everything returned to peace.
The players seemed to be in a hot spring, serene and peaceful, then their vision went black, and all the strange sensations disappeared.
Then they found.
They had become energy bodies, floating above their corpses, which had been completely frozen by the dragon’s breath.
Although all of this seemed to take a long time, it actually happened in an instant. None of the players present were still alive. Wherever the Deathly Shadow Cloud covered, anyone who came into contact with the dragon’s breath was instantly frozen to death.
“Keke… I said I would make you pay the price!”
Angus was very satisfied with the legendary-grade damage he had caused.
The dragon breath flames covered the ground with a layer of frost, and the entire Karari Royal Capital seemed to enter a severe winter in an instant.
The cold, deathly still aura did not spare any corner; even the mice hiding under the fireplace could not escape freezing to death.
“Lord of Eagle Territory, stop hiding, get out here!” Angus roared, searching through all the ice sculptures with his gaze.
His dragon breath was terrifying, but it should not have been able to kill a Champion Knight directly.
He wanted to find the Lord of Eagle Territory.
To repay the knight’s “kindness” for toying with him with the most malicious soul spells.
The city of Karari was silent.
Only the “whoosh” of the wind passing through the houses and windows could be heard, with no one answering.
The players watched silently as the Ghost Dragon talked to himself, performing a one-man show.
Their expressions were strange, stifling their laughter.
If they weren’t energy bodies now.
Otherwise, they would have mocked the Ghost Dragon.
The King of Winter had already returned to the Emerald Fortress. What were you looking for here…
“You’re not coming out, are you…” Angus’s bony dragon face showed an angry and sinister expression. Even the surrounding undead could feel the wrath of the Ghost Dragon Lord.
Undead were very good at finding the scent of living beings, thanks to an innate ability they possessed – life tracking.
This was an ability that gradually strengthened with the undead’s rank.
The enhancement was reflected in the detection range.
Angus was now using this ability.
The Undead Ghost Fire in his eye sockets turned blood red, and the undead energy on his body churned up and down, making him look even more eerie and terrifying.
This search for life was like a radar, capable of immediately locating all living beings within a circle centered on itself.
And as a Legendary-grade undead creature.
Angus’s detection range could easily cover the entire Karari Royal Capital.
However, he found nothing…
There was only a golden line connecting to the southwest, which was the Emerald Fortress. Besides that, there were a few other golden lines connecting to different directions.
However, they looked faint and indistinct.
They would be easily overlooked if not looked at carefully.
These golden lines guided the areas where groups of living beings were. The more obvious the golden lines, the more living beings were within the detection range.
It was clear that in the area Angus could detect, the Emerald Fortress had more living beings.
Could it be that the Lord of Eagle Territory had fled?
Angus’s mind churned with this conjecture.
He descended from the sky to the ground. His massive dragon body caused a huge roar with just a slight movement.
The ice sculptures of those human soldiers shattered at a touch.
They turned into powder under his rough movements.
Suddenly, he felt a trace of residual energy fluctuation. This energy fluctuation was very strange, faintly echoing the stars in the sky.
Angus had never seen such an energy fluctuation before, so he did not notice it immediately when he was in the sky. But after he got close to the ground, after he got close to the energy fluctuation, he had already confirmed it completely.
This was a magic power fluctuation.
In front of him was a teleportation array that had been blown to bits.
Faintly, one could still see the exquisite matrix patterns on the frosted ground.
Around it were several mysterious resurrection crystals, covered with frost and cracks, which had been completely destroyed by his dragon breath.
“As expected, he left through the teleportation array… and he blew up the teleportation array before leaving, abandoning the soldiers who fought for him in Karari City.”
Angus spread his dragon wings, shattering the surrounding ice sculptures. His eyes were dim, the Undead Ghost Fire flickered with the breeze, and he muttered in a low voice.
“As expected, humans are such a deceitful bunch. The higher their position, the more disgusting they are.”
