Chapter 55: Reinforcements
Within a circular no-man’s-land in the Budun family’s battle formation.
Clemon had been struggling against three Great Knights for a long time. He was ultimately unable to fight three at once and was struck down by one of them.
He fell to the ground, his spirit weakened, blood spilling from his mouth. He struggled to get up but staggered and fell again, his Qi gradually extinguishing.
“I didn’t expect the Budun family to have four Great Knights. No wonder they dared to launch an attack directly.”
“Young Master Xi Wei, please don’t come back…”
Clemon tightly gripped his longsword, thinking bitterly. At this moment, he didn’t know that Xi Wei had already broken through to become a Sky Knight.
He glanced to the side and saw Bane Bloodhoof suppressing a young Great Knight, fiercely attacking, but it would be difficult to determine a winner in a short time.
Clemon couldn’t help but praise in his heart, “As expected of the Chieftain of the Bloodhoof Clan, even facing a stronger enemy, he can still suppress them with ease.”
But it was useless to think about these things now, as his life as Clemon was coming to an end. In his vision, a Great Knight was approaching expressionlessly, longsword in hand.
“I heard your name is Clemon?”
The Great Knight’s eyes revealed a hint of admiration. The old man lying on the ground was truly strong, so strong that the three of them working together found him a little tricky.
He wanted to try and recruit such a powerful individual to his side, so he said sincerely:
“I’ll give you a chance to live now, provided you pledge allegiance to Earl Amper. A strong individual like you shouldn’t die so disgracefully here.”
Clemon’s eyes moved. He looked calmly at the Great Knight. His once bright eyes had become somewhat clouded, but they still held an imposing aura.
“I, Clemon, shall remain loyal to the Lord of Eagle Territory until my death!”
“What a shame.”
A trace of regret flickered in the Great Knight’s eyes. He didn’t try to persuade him further; the old man’s gaze said it all.
Since he couldn’t be brought to their side, he could only be eliminated.
The Great Knight approached the old man with his longsword, gripping the hilt with both hands, aimed at the old man’s heart, and slowly thrust downwards.
However, after many years as a Great Knight, his perception of danger suddenly tensed up at this moment.
Extreme danger.
It was approaching from his side and rear.
He had to dodge, or he would die.
In a flash, he made the most correct decision, rolling and falling to the ground.
“Hiss—”
Almost at the moment he threw himself to the ground, a grating whistling sound passed over his head.
The violent wind kicked up sand and stones from the ground, scratching his face. Following that, with a deafening “boom,” smoke and dust billowed up not far away, rocks shattering.
In a pit seven or eight meters in diameter, a greatsword was quietly embedded, spurting faint smoke as if from high-speed friction with the air.
The Great Knight swallowed with difficulty, his forehead covered in cold sweat. If his reaction had been any slower, his head would likely have been smashed to pieces.
He cast his gaze in the direction from which the greatsword had come. A figure was rapidly approaching, the ground along the way pulverized by a fierce Qi. Seven or eight strange Minotaur Warriors carrying Magic Cannons followed far behind him.
“Quick, stop him!”
“All together!”
The three Great Knights reacted quickly. The opponent was not to be trifled with, and there was no time for them to hesitate.
Xi Wei, of course, would not give them time to hesitate. He had come to kill.
Faint golden Qi roared and boiled throughout his body, and he threw a punch.
The three Great Knights faced the figure radiating Qi, putting all their strength into blocking and defending. Yet, they were still sent flying backward, spitting blood, as if hit by a high-speed train.
They struggled to get up from the ground, watching the man in the distance slowly approach, wielding a greatsword.
The Qi emanating from him was like tides, like the sea, like the abyss, like hell, pressing so hard that their bones creaked.
“This power… a Sky Knight?”
“How is that possible!”
“Where did this come from… cough…”
In his agitation, one of the Great Knights coughed up more blood, his heart filled with hatred for Viscount Budun.
They had thought this was an easy assignment, only to find themselves walking to the executioner’s block.
“Your Excellency… we meant no offense…” they pleaded tremblingly, hoping the powerful individual before them would show mercy.
“Shut up!”
Xi Wei, too annoyed for pleasantries, raised his sword and swung.
He was so angry. He had misjudged this time. If he had arrived any later, not only would Clemon have been lost, but the meager force he had managed to pull together would have been wiped out too.
The more he thought about it, the more his fear grew, and the more ferocious his attacks became.
Under the dual power of the Dragon Vein and Sky Knight strength, he swung his sword repeatedly. The surrounding ground was gouged with deep pits by his violent sword wind and Qi.
The three Great Knights caught in the sweep of his greatsword fared even worse.
After barely blocking a few strikes, their internal organs were shattered, and blood flowed from their seven orifices, shaken by the force of the sword.
Before their Qi was even depleted, they were undeniably dead.
