Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
Chapter 408: Let the Blue Dragon Work for You (1)
The problem now was this: although the Blue Dragon had lost the ability to escape, getting it to obey was another matter entirely. Blue Dragons were arrogant and proud. Trying to directly sign a master-servant contract with a Blue Dragon was almost impossible. Such a Legendary creature would rather commit suicide!
Xi Wei paused before the Blue Dragon’s massive body, stroking his chin as he pondered for a moment. He decided to drag the Blue Dragon back to Dragonflame City first. The Blue Dragon was currently sleeping like a log. Unless provoked, it wouldn’t wake up for a day or two.
…
…
Dragging a heavy Blue Dragon was no easy feat for a Champion Knight. Newly promoted Champion Knights generally possessed strength around a thousand tons. The Blue Dragon, however, weighed at least three thousand tons. Yet, Xi Wei dragged it with ease. This was mainly because the Blue Dragon hadn’t flown far before crashing, coupled with his Red Dragon Bloodline. As his strength grew, his exploitation of the Red Dragon Bloodline deepened. Now, his strength had reached eight thousand tons.
Eight thousand tons, what did that mean? Xi Wei could drag a giant dragon forward with one hand. This led to a scene that the people of Dragonflame City would never forget on the afternoon the Blue Dragon attacked their city. The first to notice something was amiss were the guards on Dragonflame City’s walls. They saw a strange Blue Dragon approaching on the gravel road leading to Dragonflame City from afar. The ground rumbled with the Blue Dragon’s footsteps, and the entire Dragonflame City could vaguely feel the ground vibrating.
“The Blue Dragon is here again!” a messenger soldier cried out in alarm, his panicked rush causing him to stumble and almost fall off the city wall. “The Blue Dragon is attacking the city! Alert!”
As the alarm sounded, more and more city guards noticed the approaching Blue Dragon. However, they saw that the Blue Dragon’s head was drooping, its eyes closed, and its wings hung limply at its sides, looking as if it were dead. Yet, who was dragging it along and making such a commotion?
Yogg-Saron had also arrived. He stood on the highest tower, gazing afar. With the keen eyesight of a Sky Knight, he quickly spotted the maid beside the King of Winter above the Blue Dragon. His gaze shifted lower, and he saw the King of Winter approaching Dragonflame City step by step, supporting the Blue Dragon with one hand. The earth-shattering commotion was, in fact, the sound of the King of Winter’s footsteps.
This sight made even the well-traveled Yogg-Saron gasp inwardly. A human dragging a giant dragon hundreds of times larger than himself – the impact of that image was tremendous. However, since he confirmed it was the King of Winter, he instructed the city guards to disarm the alarm.
“But Lord, that’s a Blue Dragon!” the messenger soldier said, kneeling on one knee, his face filled with astonishment. “If we cancel the alarm, what about the people in Dragonflame City?” He didn’t quite understand the City Lord’s thinking. But he didn’t want to give up, for his family was in Dragonflame City. After finally achieving a peaceful and stable living environment, he felt he had to protect it with all his might, even if it meant standing against a chariot.
“Soldier, I didn’t expect you to be so responsible,” Yogg-Saron chuckled, gently patting the messenger soldier’s shoulder. “Do as I say. The person who has come is the King of Winter. Your eyesight is limited, and you can’t see clearly. Do you know why that Blue Dragon looks so strange?” He pointed at the approaching Blue Dragon. “Because this Blue Dragon is being dragged by Your Majesty Winter, and it has already been subdued.”
“Oh, oh…” The messenger soldier nodded blankly, his mind still struggling to grasp the concept of dragging a giant dragon. However, the shock in his mind made him unconsciously deactivate the alarm bell according to Yogg-Saron’s orders.
As the Blue Dragon drew nearer, the city guards finally spotted the figure dragging the giant dragon: golden messy hair, azure eyes, and wearing that same poet’s robe. Most of the city guards had seen the King of Winter before, so they weren’t surprised by his attire. They hurried to open the gates of Dragonflame City, only to find that even with the gate opened to its maximum width, the Blue Dragon couldn’t pass.
“The dragon’s body is simply too large…” a soldier guarding the gate murmured to himself. This was the first time he had observed a Blue Dragon at such close range. Although the giant dragon’s eyes were closed, its imposing aura was in no way diminished. Just a glance was enough to send shivers down one’s spine.
“Who says not? But this only highlights our King of Winter’s might. A Blue Dragon as tall as a small hill is being held up by His Majesty with one hand – it’s incredible! I have to tell my wife all about this when I get back,” another gate guard said excitedly, gesturing animatedly. He raised his hands high, his eyes full of adoration. If such an expression were seen in modern times, he would be considered a die-hard fan.
Seeing that he couldn’t enter through the main gate, Xi Wei simply infused his Qi throughout his body and stomped his legs forcefully. With a thunderous roar, two deep pits were left on the ground. He leaped into the air, carrying the Blue Dragon, which was as large as a hill, towards the inside of Dragonflame City. Dragging the Blue Dragon was easy. But once he started flying, it became a bit more strenuous. The main issue was the rapid consumption of Qi. With Xi Wei’s Qi reserves, he could at most carry the Blue Dragon from Dragonflame City back to Winter City, and his flight speed would be very slow.
Xi Wei landed with the Blue Dragon in the plaza of Dragonflame City and simply tossed it aside. The Blue Dragon’s massive body crashed onto the ground, causing the earth to tremble. This was the only open space in all of Dragonflame City large enough to accommodate the Blue Dragon. Soon, the sound of hooves approached. Yogg-Saron and his knight squad had arrived. The knights had limited experience, only possessing a superficial understanding of dragons from monster encyclopedias and novels. They gathered around, staring at the Blue Dragon lying on the ground in stunned silence.
They hadn’t seen it clearly enough from the sky. Now, up close, these knights finally experienced the terror of a giant dragon firsthand. Their warhorses refused to move, and if not held back by sheer force, they would have bolted in fear.
“Your Majesty, how do you plan to deal with this giant dragon?” Yogg-Saron asked, gazing intently at the sleeping dragon. Its ears were wrinkled, and its forehead bore a small horn. Above that were two spiral horns on either side of its skull, though they were broken. Several rows of spikes extended from its nose bone along its forehead towards the back of its skull. Its protruding jaw was also adorned with clusters of spikes, each of which could be a valuable weapon material. He guessed that the broken dragon horns were battle scars from the Blue Dragon’s fight with the King of Winter. His Majesty Winter had severed the Blue Dragon’s horns with a single sword strike. Just imagining that scene was enough to make one’s blood boil.
The Blue Dragon’s deep blue scales had a matte texture. On its chest, there was a scale that grew in the opposite direction, about the size of an adult’s palm, smooth and shiny like a blue mirror. A sword strike here could pierce the dragon’s heart unimpeded! However, a dragon’s reverse scale was incredibly hard, and piercing it with a single sword would require an extremely sharp weapon. At least Hero-grade. Slaying a dragon was the dream of every knight. It was a symbol of glory, and anyone who claimed not to be tempted would be lying. However, Yogg-Saron knew that even if a dragon were to be slain, the honor would undoubtedly belong to the King of Winter, and he would be fortunate enough to bathe in the dragon’s blood.
